"Some of the most vocal opposition to this film has come from LGBTQ media, which objected to the ‘regressive’ portrayal of a ‘transgender woman’ as a duplicitous and violent criminal."
Or maybe (go with me on this), just maybe, it's that "transgender women" are a mixture of the mentally ill and predatory men who can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to let them have access to kids if they say the magic words.
It takes at least months, usually years, for a project to go through the entire production pipeline. Most of the entertainment content you are seeing on TV and movie screens today started out as projects in 2022 or 2023. One might add to this list "Captain America IV," an imminent bomb for Disney Marvel that tripled in budget due to emergency reshoots to replace overly-woke scenes that test audiences hated. A depressing amount of cultural pollution will continue to spew out of the pipeline for a while, and even the corporations that are trying to alter course are having a hard time of it.
Could it be that the reason TV is still flogging trans stories is that trans people are active in the industry? This isn't an attempt to ignite a conspiracy theory. Show biz has always attracted gay people. While many gays, especially elders like me, are sex realists, the queers in the entertainment field are almost certainly all-in on trans inclusivity.
Because gender identity ideology rests on a foundation of falsehoods, there isn't a corner of trans world that isn't a full time performance of The Emperor's New Clothes, with cisgender "allies" playing the parts of the Emperor's credulous courtiers. In most instances, the suspension of disbelief allows the onlookers to imagine the Emperor is as handsome as Errol Flyn and possessed of a wardrobe that would make Henry VIII's look like rags. That illusion cannot survive exposure to the men who call themselves trans women. Even beer goggles won't correct for the fact that most men make distinctively unconvincing and ugly women. That alone accounts for a large share of the animus they provoke.
Someday drag queens will go the way of the organ grinder's monkey and for the same reason: they're a cruel imitation of humanity. Until that day comes, enjoy watching straight people and the Peter-Pan set in the gay community make fools of themselves at the feet of drag divas.
Spot on. It's not conspiracy at all. If these people's jobs depend on the grift on it goes.
When you look at sectors and professions, then as you say here with the arts, it's taken a while for their dominance to show itself. They all have different lag times. This groupthink was there, but when the gender crap settled into that particular showbiz corner it seemed to flourish with others in other professions not quite realising (as they weren't in it). Poor arrogantly naive TV commissioners who knew exactly what they were doing. The whole point is you are pretending to be something you are not and there's a suspension of belief we the audience needed. You kind of let other professions get on with their thing, so when they are captured it takes whistleblowers to reveal it all and save their sectors. And the gay rights in arts was a clever cover. That's the danger when one ideology takes over one sector, let alone then tech and then everything we see on our screens. All platforms. How we all communicate and get our information. Everything was being totally skewed behind the scenes, then full throttle thrown in our faces. To have captured entertainment and imaginative and creative pursuits was clever wraparound propaganda. But it's just a laugh! But it's just a soap! Stop being so uptight! You're nasty! It's good business! Human rights! Then to hold the purse strings for all arts funding and commissioning. I have been playing 'spot the shoehorned trans-identifying man bingo' for a few years and it's in turns depressing yet hilarious when it's a string of programmes, movies, music, theatre, adverts, radio and news articles one after the other. Quiz shows. Men in full shiny plastic fetish gear on daytime family TV. Er? It's just a fashion. I take some cold delight in seeing BBC executives wondering out loud year after year why their licensing model is so borked. What's their content? Ooh let's think why people turned off in droves. Art lost art, humour lost humour.
Same with Academia and Education. Women's studies. Feminism. The Law. Publishing. Charities. Government departments. Medicine and health insurance. And how this substack has covered it all. Politics. All eaten from the inside. It's been odd watching one sector after another fall victim to these delusions. Sports, both elite then school sports, leisure and generally accessible public spas and gyms, sportswear marketing and branding. One by one they went all in, it was all floridly fetishist men bloody everywhere then the similar backlash. Coffee shops. Retail. We all needed to find a way to speak up and counter in our own groups, cultures and professions.
I'm sure it's how or why slightly socially awkward men who found they could succeed in writing nice code then changed our societies beyond recognition and genuinely no one had considered rather basic things at the time because those people who might have asked weren't in the room. Still aren't. All the fetishists were online moderators so neatly deplatformed anything and anyone and all women. Gay men accusing gay men of being traitors. And that was unnoticed yet celebrated. Heterosexual and 'heteronormatives' were told to keep out, not their fight. All the identity politics which obscured that we all could be on the same side and had to work together to fight this. It's all quite Shakespearian watching the last days of drag. Inverting genuine rights movements from previous generations. Seeing it all implode - it was a few traditional drag queens whistleblowing warning everyone else, this isn't for kids, what the hell are you parents doing bringing your toddlers and clapping as they gyrate in front of them? In a library?
My health care organization requires that my sex be described as my "sex assigned at birth." It also makes every patient have a gender identity whether or not they want one or know what gender identity is. I'm trapped because the captured administrators will not offer patients of selecting "none" in that field, though they do make that accommodation for patients' religion. The best I can select, "Chose not to disclose" won't do because I am forced to admit I have a gender identity (I do not) but just do not want to say what it is.
I'm hoping to be able to report them to the Trump administration.
I have exactly the same with my employer and I made exactly the same objection. They ignored it, then did the whole "the options are based on the best advice"
I once spoke to someone whose job was to revamp their health system with all those new drop down codes and boxes in all electronic forms internally and for patients to complete. He asked almost in passing what this gender stuff was all about. So no one needed to know why, they were given a task and completed it. Chilling. I tried to explain a potted history of genderology and his and other people's reactions were as expected (but that's nonsense). But he still got on with changing those options, and again as you say removing them by making it impossible for you to not have this 'identity' then our only 'option' now being that we chose not to 'disclose' that thing we don't have. At least with paper forms we could strikethrough or just write 'sex' over the top.
Hope the reporting goes well. Strange to observe how through this kind of boring, bureaucratic, unseen or thought about 'admin' infrastructure it spread so far, you feel coerced into ticking the choice of boxes or options given, despite not agreeing or it being factual just to access the service you need. If you ask, it's 'just how it is now'. But who says? 'Authorities'. Again it's the bizarre 'someone somewhere made the decision' and how Gareth Pegg has stated, all the 'best advice'.
Those who know better huh. In a few UK cases once the transpushing organisations get to court they then plead ignorance or hotly deny that they ever gave 'advice' and have any 'influence' so are never responsible. Of course. So we still have no clear or transparent line admitting to who was ever or still is setting this agenda so it's harder to undo the damage they've done. Then address the irreversible damage.
I think there is plenty of reason to perceive that it is a conspiracy. You have outlined many of them in your comment. What has happened is so obviously not about grass roots concerns, and so obviously due to the movement of forces with wealth and power, which have always captured and deployed mass media as a means to roll out their indoctrination, as is clearly the case here.
To paraphrase Jennifer Bilek, societies are not being so profoundly changed as a result of the concerns of those with dysphoria, fetishists, and other everyday bit-part actors - and it is idiotic to think so. Capitalism is always looking for new markets and it has found one in body amendments - drugs, surgeries, 'identities'. Transhumanists are seeking ways to dissociate people away from their natural human state. Those who want a meek, compliant population see that a good way to achieve this is to sexually confuse, even traumatise, citizens en masse.
Powerful entities conspire to shape the world into the forms they want it to have. What helps them get away with it, in part, is the fact that so many buy into another false, invented notion - that anyone who believes in 'conspiracy theory' is necessarily deluded or inadequate.
Wow. What a detailed article! Thank you for your hard work. I appreciate your ending 'If this recent glut of womanface (with the exception of a solitary ‘trans man’)' line. Again proving what a huge Mens Rights Movement trans really is. Oh lets throw in one woman, but only rarely!
That detailed murder scene you reference of the GC woman is seriously dark. I'm horrified at that. Also the stereoptying of what TERFs are meant to look like and be against self expression which is the total opposite of the majority of us. Makes me rage.
Btw, this Emilia Pérez 'emperors new clothes' blindness from whoever gives awards out is nothing short of the most heinous obviously BRIBED lie I have ever seen. It's a pile of steaming excrement, regardless of it's content. The 'musical' elements, wooden, soulless crap, all of it is a total DEI sham.
I personally believe Coraline Fargeat's The Substance and Demi Moore should sweep the Oscars.
Pretty ironic huh? A film about sci-fi body horror brought on by a sexist society played by a stunning real woman, versus a talentless bodge piece with a pathetic sexist man trying to be woman.
We can choose not to watch! And I do! That awful Midsomer drag queen episode was execrable as was the Vera episode! I never watch comedy these days - it’s never funny just cringeworthy, vulgar and crude or just plain nasty. As for offerings at Golden Globes and the like- if something wins an award I know it must be awful.
Even the new series of death in paradise looks unwatchable.
My god the preachers are all so basic. Thick as two short planks. Subtlety is not in their repertoire. The sooner the BBC is cancelled the better. I watched Missing snd it made me shudder the way a bloke had wormed his way into "girls night". Just sick.
That's worse than a script altered to include product placement.
That is blatant, crude indoctrination. Brain washing.
And
In there, I think it's abuse of power towards the vulnerable.
Child abuse largely. Being whitewashed.
A couple of sentences that have no reason to be part of the script. Nothing to do with the actual story. Just slipping in an out-of-context, clumsy, far-from-mild agenda, being placed in a trusted spot, in order to... IN ORDER TO... subvert people's thinking.
I mean... alcohol and tobacco have been banned from doing this, product placement is also under some sort of guideline.
Someone with an angry, pointed, heavily biased political agenda, using a TV series watched around the world by people who trust the BBC for their entertainment.
This is NOT placed there for the purpose of entertainment.

As for the Jordan fellow, I saw him on QI last night. Never knew who he was until then. ...Actually, come to think of it, QI had another man in drag the night before as well. I had similar thoughts about how the arts are open and embracing of this agenda.
But I also thought of this guy, Jordan, as a couple of other things.
As clever. He was quick.
And as someone who wants attention/ acknowledgement. And who wasn't comfortable being himself.
It's a conundrum.
I find this a conundrum, in that I bet a lot of kids caught into this agenda, get caught up in it because of being involved in the arts.
Therefore a lot of people in the arts know a gentle, fragile soul who has been caught up in this game. And in knowing them, would feel compassion for them. And would want to support them.
So we're missing the point.
Because the arts are where a lot of bright, talented, musical, neurodiverse children gather, and where they are supported and have a place to shine in schools. But noone is supporting them in being allowed to be accepted within their brightness, talent, quirkiness or neurodiversity.
No charity organisations touting their support in ads, finances, resources, real changes in schools, etc etc. in aid of vulnerable misfits being accepted equally in schools, young peer groups, early workplaces.
I'm always concerned about how those children are ripe for the picking. Vulnerable.
And I do think, when caught up in the ideology, they deserve kindness and support, but kindness in gently being allowed to see the mistaken choices they are making. And LOADS of support to then be able to embrace the truth of who they really are, and the journey towards growing to know themselves and their strengths.
And
Open support and education of their parents to be able to do the same.
I'm so angry with all those who have used their soapboxes to indoctrinate.
It’s not men in a dress I object to, I really don’t care what they wear, it’s their appropriation of womanhood that puts women in danger and insults us. The line where Vera says that the trans identifying man doesn’t belong in a men’s refuge because he’s a “lass”: well I am open to the argument that he might have difficulty in a male refuge (although the men there are generally fleeing from male violence, not perpetrating it) and he should be somewhere else, but if we let him into female refuges, then we let any man in, and men are responsible for massive amounts of violence towards women. The best way of keeping women safe is to keep all men out. So get your own refuges mate, like we had to.
Also, the reduction of sex realist arguments to bigotry is so lazy, and the attempts to create prejudice against gender critical women is pretty revolting. Of course the scripts can’t reveal our true objections because they are pretty irrefutable, so they just rely on pretending we are all uptight unattractive older bigots - very handy. How dare we be unattractive! How dare we say No! How dare we get old! How dare we not just hand over all our rights to dignity and safety like those sweet pretty young idiots who do whatever we ask because they are SO KIND! Well we dare because we have really good arguments about men taking away rights to sports, rights to safety, rights to dignity.
Transwomen are a kind of a man, not a kind of a woman. They criminally offend like men, not like women, so they are just as likely to attack women sexually or otherwise as the next man. If we have a case for excluding men from spaces where we are vulnerable (and we do), then we have just as good a case for excluding transwomen. Put that in your next series.
Emma Thompson isn't the only who is weeping - I hope I live long enough to see this end and Hollywood making award winning movies about GC heroes. Perhaps Glinner could write that as a musical?
Thank you for doing the work to pull all this together. Do you remember Boy Meets Girl in 2015? It seemed like a quirky heartwarming comedy drama series at the time but now feels like it might have been the start of it.
I’m not sure how you can use the phrase “failed to find an audience” for a show that was watched by exactly the tiny number you’d expect for a badly written and produced programme about a fetish that many mainstream viewers are sick of seeing portrayed on screen. It found the audience it deserved.
Viewing figures, BBC? I somehow can't believe they haven't declined. I have no problems with a screenplay depicting all of society but I do have a problem with screenplays that tell us what's "right" to believe. Of course the BBC will carry on doing what it and the government likes, protected as they are by the license fee and liberals insisting the Beeb is "cherished". It's not, especially as it blatantly parrots the deep state's lines, and it's losing license payers every day.
"Some of the most vocal opposition to this film has come from LGBTQ media, which objected to the ‘regressive’ portrayal of a ‘transgender woman’ as a duplicitous and violent criminal."

LOL that supermarket "comedy" looked absolutely abysmal. And misogynistic. As expected then.
Cashback is an excellent black comedy set in a supermarket.

Oh my good grief (ffs!)
I really enjoy watching Vera.... and am not in the UK, didn't know a lot of the others.... so I only really looked at that clip.
It was a token couple of sentences... The sentences didn't need to be in there AT ALL... didn't add to the story in any way whatsoever.
Just embedded indoctrination.
Scripted, hidden indoctrination.
Who does one write to ?
