Three minutes before the embargo officially ended, Michael Shellenberger dropped the bombshell 242-page report ‘The WPATH Files’, based on files he received from a whistleblower from within the organisation, which purports to be the world authority on ‘trans healthcare’.
What it reveals is ethical rot and medical malpractice on an almost unimaginable scale; minors given procedures they cannot possibly understand; homeless and schizophrenic people receiving gender surgeries and pharmaceutical interventions; and “extreme body modifications performed with no medical justification”.
The report is written by Mia Hughes, and I know Stella O’Malley of Genspect and Dr Carrie Mendoza of Fair both worked very hard on it.
Here’s what Shellenberger said in his tweet accompanying links to the files.
“Advocates of gender-affirming care say it’s evidence-based.
But now, newly released internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) prove that the practice of transgender medicine is neither scientific nor medical.
American Medical Association, The Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH. It is considered the leading global authority on gender medicine.
And yet WPATH’s internal files, which include written discussions and a video, reveal that its members know they are creating victims and not getting “informed consent.”
Victims include a 10-year-old girl, a 13-year-old developmentally delayed adolescent, and individuals suffering from schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses.
The injuries described in the WPATH Files include sterilization, loss of sexual function, liver tumors, and death.
WPATH members indicate repeatedly that they know that many children and their parents don’t understand the effects that puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries will have on their bodies. And yet, they continue to perform and advocate for gender medicine.
The WPATH Files prove that gender medicine is comprised of unregulated and pseudoscientific experiments on children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults. It will go down as one of the worst medical scandals in history.”
Please also have a listen to this explainer by Stella O’Malley.
Perhaps now, the scandal of The Eunuch Archives, first revealed by Genevieve Gluck in her Reduxx scoop two years ago, will receive wider attention. I still don’t know how this story disappeared so completely.
Shellenberger: “The files aren't easy to read, but I urge you to do so. We believe the files show that what is called ‘gender medicine’ is neither science nor medicine. The experiments are not randomized, double-blind or controlled. It's not medicine since the first goal is to do no harm. And that requires first and foremost, informed consent.“
"American Medical Association, The Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH..."
Just read that last phrase again... 'RELY on WPATH'.
Those of us more 'in the know' than the general populace, will have more than a vague inkling of these disgraceful horrors - as Graham says, thanks to the incredibly intense and undoubtedly disturbing research of Genevieve Gluck and REDUX.
One would hope that, despite the unpalatable and unbelievable truths contained therein that this will throw more sunlight on these ideological and medical scandals than perhaps anything before it.
That said, it is required of the major press outlets to report on this fairly and accurately. I expect the Telegraph to do so, and perhaps The Mail, but what price the formerly noble and so-called impartial BBC and the former newspaper, The Guardian even mentioning this in passing? I think, deep down, we know the answer to this conundrum.
Thank God for whistleblowers!
