Really good explanations of how they don't understand the law they're hiding behind.

Great idea for a crowd funded Women's Prize for fiction. Let us know if and when one gets set up.

you could crowdfund the jury too... most fiction in this country is read by women. So why not get a group of 200 or so women who will read the nominees?

Besides a second prize, do you know what else is needed? We need to create a jury who will decide which WOMAN should have won this prize, in the case the trans-identified male wins it. And we need to do this for every competition, sports or literary or whatever, when males take the prize. What WOMAN would have won if the man had not been competing? So if this literary prize does go to the male, be ready with a press release that announces your jury's selection from their own shortlist! "The Glinner Jury Announces that . . . . "

Great letter. I feel like roaring with fury every blinking day.

They are a little bit secretive about their sponsors, anyone notice? It now says their "family of sponsors includes..." Natwest and Diageo. I wonder who else? Anyway - letter writing campaign, I think...

Could we call it the Magdalen Berns Women’s Prize or is that asking for trouble?

the Magdalene Berns Prize for Women Who Don't Give a Fuck?

I’d be up for that. Let’s do it!

I presume even if it used their own language and was called the "Cis Woman's Prize" it would - like "super straight, gay, bi" - be denounced as transphobic.

We should call it the “Feted Female.”

I’d definitely contribute to this. Great idea.
