INAUGURAL WINNER: REBECCA SOLNIT As soon as I’m finished writing this I’m going to buy this three monkeys sculpture off Amazon, call it the Strategic Ignorance Award and send it to Rebecca Solnit at the Guardian for her disgraceful piece about gender-critical feminists (or as I like to call them, ‘feminists’).
Could not be happier to be in this alongside such brilliant women as Victoria and JL. It’s an absolute honour to publish Victoria's piece and The War on Women.
Fantastic piece. Solnit's piece made me both angry and depressed. Also annoying was the way she introduced it on her FB page, with a tone of "Thanks to all of you who told me what I should think...hope I did okay, guys! Don't hate me!" The tone of her piece was simultaneously smug and abject. What's happened to the author of "Men Who Explain Things to Me"? I miss the woman who wrote things like "Having the right to show up and speak are basic to survival, to dignity, and to liberty," and didn't just ask everyone what she should say.
I would LOVE to read Solnit's response to this. Her own work clearly and accurately applied. Never ming the Left leaving us ... some of them are trying to leave themselves ...
