As a woman who lived in Glasgow for many years and loved the city, I'm not sure I'd always feel safe taking a solo evening stroll across Glasgow Green. I'm so glad that a white bearded conventionally presenting male feels safe

I was gonna say that. Women walking across parks can be dangerous and if he's feeling safe, well, that's male privilege. I won't go out in my local parks at night unless my husband is there.

yes. - i don't use parks when walking at night either for there is never enough lighting to be safe.

Oh no, the massive burly white man must be protected at all times from scary women saying such vile and bigoted things as "don't lock women up with male rapists". Flaunting one's extreme privilege 101.

It's odd how the call for trans rights presents no threat to women, but the call for women's rights is literal violence. The mental gymnastics of this mob defy comprehension.

Notice he waits till everyone's gone.

Have the police advised him he can leave his safe house now? I do hope he takes care: you never know when an upsetting image might appear on the horizon. Poor, poor David. What it must be to be him.

I had such a fantastic day today hearing so many inspiring women speak passionately and eloquently about women's rights. Meeting you Graham was a highlight! Solidarity with Marion Millar, women won't wheesht!

What is wrong with him? He looks like a big bloke, surely stickers and ribbons aren't really scaring him. I'm really struggling to understand how weak one must need to be to feel "unsafe" around feminist haberdashery items, and GC paraphernalia. Is your "truth" so shaky that you feel unwell when confronted with reality?

Maybe spending too much time with teens on Tumblr?

He's a tool for the most violent people on social media. Everything that would be dictators like Paisley say is based on their Big Lie. Listening to someone like Paisley is just like listening to Trump talking about the Stolen Election. Virtually everything that Paisley says is bullshit.

Expand full comment

The difference with Trump is he *believes* the election was stolen. At least that's my take.

Man At Bus Stop doesn't believe a single utterance of his musings; just like the majority of trans activists. That's what makes the Trans Lie ™ far, far worse.

It took me a moment to twig that women have been meeting in Glasgow to demonstrate their support for Marion Millar, and that's why DP felt some need to bring attention to the event via a completely comical play on the theme that the event somehow poses a danger to him. If we didn't already have a strong suspicion that he is the instigator of the paranoid persecution of a woman who may have said such terrible things as men can't become women and posted pictures of suffragette ribbons, we surely now don't need more proof.

The puzzling thing is that with his background with a violently abusive father and the help he and his mother received from women's refuges, one might have expected he would be a natural ally to Marion and all the women campaigning to prevent the inevitable erosion of women's rights and security a stupid and uncritical reform of the GRC based on self identification will mean.

But no. Instead he attacks women and persecutes them as if they are the problem. It's an extraordinary disconnection. Maybe in spite of himself he did after all inherit that nasty streak from his brutal father.

Expand full comment

A bit of cod psychology here but, perhaps he resents his mother being "stupid enough to get herself involved with an aggressive man" . He can't take it out on her cos he loves her so target's all other women instead.

But inheritance of his father's genes and learnt behaviour from him too.....yeah, not great. That would be a red flag before we even knew anything about his behaviour!

There are mommy/daddy issues all over the show. But that's a red herring anyway. No man has a hallmark relationship with their old man; we don't all act like this weasel-faced c*nt however.

He needs to be put in jail with male on male rapists then he will know what feeling afraid really is. Pathetic excuse for a human.

Many of you are likely aware that this reply is being used by him on twitter to say we condone rape.

David dear, no. What was said was you would (maybe) understand the fear if you were in a prison with violent male rapists. The fear that unfortunately is being placed on women inmates by the transfer of males into their estate. But somehow you're now the victim in a what-if scenario while the actual women in prisons don't get a mention by you at all. If self-awareness was a sport you needn't worry about ever representing Team GB.

Oh wow. What a sad little man. Sad sad sad little man. A world where a big hairy healthy (not even old) man can freak out because a 50 year old woman posted an image of ribbons on the flipping internet then charge her when she's already extremely vulnerable being the mother of autistic twins, and act all relieved in a park after a bunch of mostly old women where there peacefully with banners have left - HELLO WORLD, WAKE UP, HE'S A COMPLETE NONCE!! SHAME ON YOU PAISLEY. SHAME ON YOU!

This is typical of an abuser and is called DARVO - deny, accuse, reverse victim/offender. It's the tactics of domestic abusers everywhere.

It was great to meet some of the witches in Glasgow yesterday. I didn't feel frightened or intimidated *at all*, even though ACTUAL RIBBONS were present.

Every time I read a bit of twitter I end up down some rabbit hole of delusional emo narcissists who seem to have lived their entire existence in a bubble. And it's no wonder they congregate there in the perpetual bask of brave and stunning validation. Not a critical brain cell among them.
