Fucking French men. They're such misogynistic bastards. I know, I'm French.

Great listen. Joanna Cherry was at the Sex Matters gathering in Edinburgh on Friday. Such an eloquent supporter of women’s rights and it was terrific to see her there. Tried to speak to her to ask what she thought about Mhairi Black (SNP Paisley and Renfrewshire South) taking drag queens into primary schools but it was such a crowd I lost sight of her before I had to catch my bus. Why the good people of Renfrewshire vote for this foul mouthed young woman is a mystery but I’m making it my business to inform everyone I know about her views and her fondness for exposing primary school children to grotesque parodies of women. Black argues that there is no argument against the GRR Bill because it does not threaten women’s rights. Of course Emma Thompson, that very tedious virtue signalling actress, came out in support of Scotland’s GRR Bill (must have been a quiet week for London centric bandwagons) along with a host of other signatories in an open letter about trans rights back in 2019. Thompson has gone quiet on the subject but it’s the list of signatories that is worrying. Lots of SNP (of course) but a very high representation of people running women’s organisations that seek to protect women’s rights, that are involved with women who have been subjected to domestic violence, youth organisations, teachers, university lecturers, children’s organisations, medics, lawyers and journalists. The astonishing thing is the preponderance of women’s organisation backing this legislation. Anyway, missed my chance with Ms Cherry but I will catch her next time. My own MP will not reply to any of my communications on this subject. Totally blanked me. Persona no grata. And the Times has taken away my commenting privileges because of “complaints” about my comments. Wonder who is doing that? The trans police I suspect, and of course the “moderators” (aka censors) are all straight out of uni and right on board with the programme. I despair some days but Graham, your Substack keeps me going. Cheers.

Did I hear a Fr Austin Purcell reference there, Graham (“No way Hose!”)?

Just watched it. Graham I don’t know if you read these but there was a point where you said something like “I’ve given six years of my fucking life for this”. I don’t know how you do it but you do. Thank you for it. You are now then and always - right. Keep going and be proud of your work. People are out there who believe in you and are with you. You’re a genuine inspiration. And still funny!

Why are children – who are by definition pre-pubescent – making any decisions at all about their sexuality?

That “The Left” are now haranguing lesbians is another indication of a curious transformation that happened around three years ago – specifically when the covid thing started. “The Left” either disappeared or became a more rabid version of “The Right”. I recall a wonderful cartoon set at the time of the birth of Jesus in which a news crier was shouting, “King Herod has demanded the killing of all male babies. The opposition say this doesn’t go far enough!”

I tend to think of it this way (and think of me as someone who is Left but no longer “Left”): The old Left/Right notion seemed to me to be a kind of “good cop/bad cop” routine. Three years ago, The Left seemed to vault over the heads of The Right to land on the other side and give us “bad cop/even worse cop”.
