The hatred people like us get for standing against this makes the red scare look rational. I am all for being kind to new people coming in who just didn't take sides before, or even trans supporters that didn't go too far, but we need to hold a LOT of people accountable. Teachers pushing this on students should be fired from their jobs. Politicians that supported it should be voted out. Doctors that performed surgery on children should be imprisoned.
PTSD and conflict trauma make it difficult to speak out. Men did that to me. I genuinely drop a bomb in Twitter then ignore it for 2 days. Same in life. It’s more than a movement, it’s an entire shift in society that is needed.
It really does seem to be getting through - I’ve had two sisters and some friends - who’d previously shut me down - recently engage in discussions and reveal how little they really understood about all this.
Still a way to go, I feel, but definitely heading in the right direction.
That's such good news. This has all really starkly revealed for me how difficult it is as adults to say 'I don't know' or 'I was wrong' and I wonder if it always was so, or if it's a hangover from school and being shamed into feeling stupid. I quite like saying these things in public and in meetings as it's usual that others will say oh I'm glad you said that, let's try to find out.
I’m noticing a softening of language from orgs like The Guardian and the BBC. Where previously it wad “Graham has been accused of transphobia” it now become “gender critical” (Guardian) and “critical of trans rights activists” (BBC R4 news)
I just wanted to say that I hope you are alright Graham. Watching you continue to doggedly defend women, children and in particular vulnerable or gay kids under heavy fire from bad and/or brainwashed and ignorant actors is both inspiring and upsetting. Thank you for all that you do. Please God let the lunacy end soon. When it does you will have played a pivotal role and should a medal, fulsome apologies and every bit of your life back. Bastards.
Great stuff. Great news Graham! The Trans Times (Gruaniad) has reported your threat to take Leith Arches to court factually with no trans spin in its 'headline' section. What's going on eh!?
It's like discussing mean, mode, median and range too - it's hard to work out what views are when there are some very extreme views skewing what appears to be those hovering around 'the middle'. Picking a position with little validity, then offering no or fabricated 'evidence' seems a TRA speciality. Outliers are pretending they are 'what everyone thinks'. All dressed up in logos, websites and shiny shiny access to senior decision-makers. It's all data isn't it - we're now basing decisions on who can produce the most data when it's empty fluff and clicks.
Congrats on your Holyrood gig last night Graham!!! Your gracious apology to Rob Schneider re your past ‘sins’ was an exemplar of how to do it. Don’t beat yourself up maaaayt, I was the same until my partner Sue Green enlightened me 5 years ago.
just listened to a bit of the first one. I really hope its nearly over. I still can’t believe learning about the medicalisation of children wasn’t enough to get people off the f-ing fence. Thanks so much you lot for doing this. Really appreciated

Champagne is in the fridge!

And apparently I can spell when using my phone, lol.

ChatGPT is too caught up in the middle ground fallacy. It assumes "Both sides" of the trans debate have "equally valid views" and stuff like that.
