Thank you, JL. This is indeed uplifting, after I was so negative with the previous bad news. Those high school girls are setting the bar, and showing that not all the young people are captured. Well done to them. Just say no.
Momentous stuff, amazingly from Canada, but respect to all those individual ladies demonstrating in the UK (too far away in Bulgaria to join unfortunately).
Fair play to the Daily Mail for covering that bastard. Their picture of him alongside lily-livered Starmer is a nice touch.
The Times covered the Glasgow library business as, happily, JKR has been making a fuss.
But I also really enjoyed the OwlKitty clip. Must check their other stuff.
As always it’s as if we’re pushing a giant boulder up a steep hill then along comes JL with his good news bulletin and all’s right with the world again. Thank you, JL.
One of my main concerns at the moment is the Irish Referendum so really pleased to see the great march in Dublin which unfortunately I couldn't make. But lovely to read the other stories and well done the ladies at London Bridge and in Scotland.
I couldn't include these heart-breaking stories of young people whose lives and bodies have been so devastated in a 'good news' report. But it is a huge sea change and extremely heartening to see such coverage in the NYT.
Ah yes, indeed true. The good news may be the comments section to the piece. I’d say at least 90%, if not more, of the remarks were very encouraging and indicate what liberal Americans really think, that this trans ideology has gone too far.
A good good news supplement JL, but I am still feeling very grumpy after the bad news one. For me, it is not satisfying enough to see the ladies resisting the nonsense, I want to see heads roll. I want to identify every decision maker in those sporting bodies, that put the ideology ahead of fairness, and for them to be sacked and never employed in any sporting capacity again. One bit on news, that I have just come across in the Times has perked me up though. That spineless git, Marcial Boo has left the Equality and Human Rights Commission as chief executive.
I write a Substack, Just the Business, about New Zealand listed companies, the NZ economy, banking and regulation. It isn't often that my concern over women's rights overlaps with my professional life, but it did in this case because the company that owns Rip Curl, KMD Brands is listed on NZX. This was my column yesterday: https://justthebusinessjennyruth.substack.com/p/kmds-rip-curl-joins-the-trans-lobby
All good. As a trans widow, with data on 56 of us, my message to Graham is, sorry, but David/Debbie Hayton does not deserve to be addressed with female pronouns. The therapist who put a chair in the middle of the room, daring him to move it and "go for it" was a charlatan. This is the truth. Does he have a sister? Did he "come" in her purloined panties? Like this woman whose story is told in my voice? Get real Graham and Andrew Doyle. We just can't "do pronouns" because the flip side stories of "the good ones" are the sisters, the ex-wives, the mothers and fathers of:
Graham calls him "he" - Andrew Doyle didn't use pronouns in the interview on Sunday. I was listening carefully. The screen banner said "she" but that could have been the producers. Agree media needs to stop profiling the husbands and speak to the wives
It's a different perspective but I think that whether we agree with Stephanie or not, we should remind ourselves not to be too quick to see trans widows merely as victims.
Although I do sympathise with you and many trans widows, I must confess to liking Debbie Hayton who has been unfailingly speaking out against trans activists.
On a pragmatic level, someone like DH is good to have on the side of women because trans activists cannot accuse Debbie of transphobia. However, I do understand why you would find it hard to accept.
On one of the first protests on this subject that I attended I heard KJK rail against “cocks in frocks”. I remember feeling shocked as I was standing about 10 feet away from Hayton who was clearly a man in a dress. This is my dilemma. I am 100% against transactivists pushing into single space areas or trying to reduce the hard won rights of women yet I cannot but be sympathetic to what is clearly a psychological issue for transsexuals. This is a throwback to the days until relatively recently when it was possible to tolerate the odd man in a dress who minded his own business and who would not have dared to demand that we believed he was anything other than he was. What seems like innocent or naive times has been superseded by spite and vindictiveness (take a quick glance through Willoughby’s output). I’m inclined to be on Haytons side and if his wife accepts him then I will too.
I think I read that they are Catholics. The wife may accept it because of her faith rather than a natural willingness. I think most of society was willing to tolerate the odd man in a dress but that tolerance might just as well be seen as neglect. If one person has a psychological issue, so what? But if society is producing increasing numbers of people with these delusions then we really should be searching for a way to stop the process. No good can come from it.
Agree with all you say and on another day I might be more agin him but when I read how truly disturbed and horrible Willoughby and his ilk are I feel a small sense of relief for an opposing point of view. That of course is why we should have been openly debating this in a measured way instead of all the threats and cancellations we have witnessed in recent years. Glinner and JL have provided us with rationality and an outlet for opinions which should have been msm all along.
Yes, the legislation and govnt guidance around gender woo in schools is very clear. Keep standing your ground! Keep complaining! The squeaking gates get the oil, as my old grandmother used to say. We're gaining ground every day. Fight on!
i’m always late to the party on everything. but it turns out a lot of schools are using unisex loos which unless they are stand alone fully equipped units guaranteeing complete safety and dignity, is a complete violation of our children’s rights. Not to mention a physical manifestation of the ideology that conditions children to accept and normalise this poison. So exhausting.
Firstly, thank you, JL, for the good news. This bit must come as some relief after hours spent, elbows deep, scraping the barrels of narcissistic effluent that infuses so many fog-addled minds.
I wonder if it would be ethical for high school "trans" athletes to be administered something that replicates menstruation once a month. No pain no gain.
Hi Graham. Loved the book and all the stuff you post here. Word of caution. In your good news post today, you cited an unnamed school having issues with a guy that wants to swim with the girls. The website you referenced looks like it’s peddling fakes. No provenance and no references, no address even. Suggest you remove that one - it damages your credibility. Best.
Ah I DO write elsewhere though not on Substack. And not on this particular subject. I'm too loyal to Graham to write elsewhere or for other people on the subject of gender! 😊
I can't really, Petal, without giving myself away! 😁 I'm basically a pen for hire and undertake commissions for several titles & websites, writing on a range of subjects... some less interesting than others! 🤣
Thank you, JL. This is indeed uplifting, after I was so negative with the previous bad news. Those high school girls are setting the bar, and showing that not all the young people are captured. Well done to them. Just say no.
My pleasure! 😊
What a week! Thanks!

Did you just mis-gender me?!! 😯 I'm calling my lawyer! 😉
Goodness, sorry. I should have used ‘their’!
I identify as a Strictly Come Dancing champion. My pronouns are FAB/U/LOUS 😁
No pushback on that, JL!
😊💃
I’ve had little petal this weekend my pronouns are shit/I’m /tired
I always thought JL was a she.
I am! 😁
Thanks for cheering us up as ever, JL. 😎

Dusty
Thanks JL. That really is a massive dose of much needed good news. Some real signs of progress happening. 👏
My pleasure! 😊
I can sleep tonight. Thank you JL. X
My pleasure! 😊
This ^^^^ was HUGE for us in the U.S.!
Let’s add the NYT opinion piece by Pamela Paul!!

Yes, I believe the tide is turning on your side of the pond! The news from Alberta is HUGE too. Even Canadians are smelling the coffee. Fight on!
Finally, the NY Times gets it

Thanks for that - I'd missed it.
Excellent news.
Many thanks JL. A right cracker of an edition :-)
Re: Network Rail/Shane Andrews please allow me to share this amusing cartoon (link hosted on imgbb) https://ibb.co/6Dbr15j
Brilliant! The very excellent Grizalda! Love her work. Many thanks for sharing. 😊

Stephanie, Debbie's wife, wrote in today's Times: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/im-a-trans-womans-wife-my-life-with-debbie-hayton-wfqp5b72x
It's a different perspective but I think that whether we agree with Stephanie or not, we should remind ourselves not to be too quick to see trans widows merely as victims.
Thanks for this. I'm putting together material for my analysis on my channel soon.

I would rather win the fight without his help.

Trans activists DO accuse Hayton of everything under the sun.
Thanks as always JL, our moment to feel optimistic and hopeful
My pleasure, CB. Much to feel positive about this week!

maybe just insist they wear the tightest shorts available, in the (actual) female sizes...

Hi Tim, just a note that the weekly roundups are penned by JL (a "woman of no importance" according to only herself) rather than Graham.
It's always worth checking the byline under the main title.
And she's usually shit hot on checking her sources but always open to reader comments.
Thank you WOTE! Much appreciated! 😊 (I didn't think anyone had ever read that bio! Glad I bothered adding one now... 😁)
Darling JL - of course I read it! I wanted to see if you had any other writings other than on here.
I still look every now and again just in case but, alas, your account remains as barren as my own.
Ah I DO write elsewhere though not on Substack. And not on this particular subject. I'm too loyal to Graham to write elsewhere or for other people on the subject of gender! 😊
