Conversation on Threads about the boxing has been mostly convinced these boxers are women. I commented that nobody has seen the tests the IBA aren’t allowed to release because they are private medical information and that the athletes could clear all such queries up immediately by releasing them but apparently I’m supposed to take it on faith. They all blocked me in the end of course and accused me of hatred.

Great point, Jenny plus they did not pursue appeals against the original IBA decisions ( which IBA offered to partly fund) and they could agree now to do (non invasive) cheek swab tests.

Hold on - they've got 'female' on their passports!! Damn, all arguments are scuppered 😂

"Female" on passports means nothing. I received a British passport (a long time ago) two days before emigrating to Canada, with "Mr" Gabriel something written on it -- simply because of the masculine spelling of my name (chosen by my parents before birth), and because some clerk at the Passport Office hadn't bothered to read my application form stating FEMALE.

It took a mad dash to Petty France (fortunately I was living in London at the time) and hours spent waiting in an emergency queue to get it changed on the spot.

I agree. I was being tongue in cheek 😊

Good story BTW

Threads is, of course, an anagram of “hatreds”.

Thanks for the uplift, JL!!

OMG I have just picked myself off the floor after the Game of Bones! I'm still laughing. Brilliant.

Well done Laura Favaro and Lizzy Pitt , yet more in the now long list of tribunal victories!

Also great result against the Fox Killer!

I have been covering the women's boxing all week. The XX sign was used again tonight by the defeated opponent . Here is my latest:

Olive & Mabel are quite the internet stars. Plenty of great videos (in which their human, sports commentator, Andrew Cotter, occasionally also makes an appearance) on YouTube.

I thought I recognised his voice. I’ll have to check them out 😊

Thanks again JL

He's written a couple of books too which are very good. He did the videos during lockdown as he had nothing to commentate :)

Always look forward to this, JL, as it restores my faith in common sense. On the shameful Olympic boxing debacle, please make sure you all read the excellent Sex Matters’ one-page info sheet on DSDs and sports. XY chromosomes and internal testes do not a woman make!

on horrible news this has really upset me.

how is the minimum sentence for rape not 15 years? 33 months to me seems like state endorsement of rape. A slap on the wrist. I don’t know how to respond to this level of injustice. 33 months. Is this a sick joke.

Expand full comment

Sadly, rape has never been a crime which received an appropriately long sentence. On the rare occasions when rapists are prosecuted at all.

its very wrong

Still makes me wonder just exactly we are not being told about the borders butcher who received 22+ years ….

It has long been this way...if a woman can even get taken seriously and if she can show she didn't give consent, and didn't lead them on and is of good moral character... and is willing to go through the most intrusive of medical examinations after being violated.

An article I read somewhere highlighted that rioters from the recent disorder following the dreadful events in Stockport received longer sentences than men do for rape.

Pretty good week in the UK.

Glad clown Lisa Nandy was challenged on the Olympics obscenity.

Added my 'likes' and 'congratulations' on the women who won this week.

Love the 'game of bones'.

Thank you, as always.

I'm glad there is some good news because this has not been a good week for women. Be glad to see Olympics over and done with.

I've got a number of thoughts swirling around in my head. Firstly, good news on the outcomes on the discrimination cases in the courts! Why employers are still persisting in being utter numpties and think they're 'special' and will win when others have already failed in court is beyond me. I live in Cambridgeshire and I assume some of my 'community charge/ rates/ whatever they're called now' will be used in paying compensation which wouldn't have been necessary if the council wasn't captured by the woo. Good to hear that a training module on freedom of thought will be rolled out.

Secondly, the IOC being idiots and persisting in allowing genetic males participate in women's sport. I remember back in the 1960s, there was a scandal around some 'women' athletes participating in the games. Sex tests were introduced and, amazingly, these women disappeared from competition. Apparently the IOC no longer bother with tests and rely on passports! This means that trans women who have been through male puberty and who have female written on their passports will be allowed to compete. So we can expect to see more of this nonsense in the future unless the IOC 'man-up' and 'grow a pair' and so say no to men in women's sport.

Finally, I'm sure I'm not the only person to get some satisfaction seeing the fox-killer getting stuffed in the eye in court...yet again. He-he.

Well done, Khelif, winning the 65kg Olympic women's boxing gold medal. I think that she won the final because, at the end of the day, she had bigger bollocks than the Chinese girl.

I'm now watching the women's beach volleyball gold medal match. The four competitors all seem to be genuine ladies but I quite happy to continue watching it until the end end to confirm that fact for fellow forum contributors. ;)

Just wondering Graham, if there is any scope for you to take legal action following the cancelation of the projects you were working on prior to being cancelled. I'd love to see you win millions.

JL, when are you going to write another IT Crowd, like series? I miss them.

Ah Rene I wish I'd written The IT Crowd! Sorry for any confusion but I'm not Graham! I'm JL, not GL. I write the War on Women and the Good News Supplement. Unlike Graham, I'm female. And I've never won a BAFTA (nor am I likely to!) let alone five! 😁
