So pleased to see Graham having a positive trip to Oz. He deserves a reward for his courage over recent years. Thanks to you too JL for keeping this Substack well informed. We’ve all come a long way but judging by the enraged noises coming from the Tras we must be getting somewhere.
Thank YOU! Idk how the big man does his finances but I hope you are getting material recognition for your hard work, as well as our appreciation. It's well earned!
I’ve thought of another good point about gender ideology. If it wasn’t for all the insanity, we wouldn’t have these substacks to look forward to and we wouldn’t have had lots of great people to chat with in the comments. 😁
Thanks JL, some fantastic news and welcome back to Graham.
once its over Ms Terfin we must find another cause and get JL to endlessly research it every week for years and years. But it has to be a topic we can all get angry about. There’s a few. I feel quite passionately about tax dodging bastards, and the food industry who lie to children and try to ruin their health whilst getting really rich and contributing nothing to the health care emergency they are causing. I think the world is full of inadequate or none existent legislation. Oh well. As usual all the people who could change it won’t because they are on the payroll
😳 CB! I thought you and me were mates...!! Trust me, when all this over, you'll find me in a darkened room, reclining on a chaise longue with a bottle of pinot noir and a moist copy of The Female Eunuch on my forehead! 😉
JL, a fantastic image! made me giggle, when this is over i will sell some of my vast stock to employ some alpha males to fan you continuously with luscious branches and feed you grapes on said chaise longue- or just send you a record voucher, your choice. I’m f-ing fuming again JL, just found out that at school, girls aren’t entitled to single sex loos- primary level this time. I sort of get closer to peace and then right back into it. I was just about to research whether the school is breaking the law. I just don’t understand why this is happening and no one’s thought maybe we shouldn’t be training our girls to be excepting of males in their spaces. Its such a clear violation of our basic duties of care. Its too much all this. Feel so let down by these teachers that i like and trust to look after my kids. I knew we had this poor kid at school but i trusted the school to let him use the staff loos or access loo- obviously letting him get his nob out infront of 8 yr old girls isnt the solution ffs. I honestly didn’t think i needed to ask and check. Third night off the booze in prep for next marathon on sunday. I got a cold. I’m so cross, I can’t believe how f-ing stupid our society has got. A lot of things people are into aren’t compatible with secular liberalism i think. Its sad. Oh well. have a nice day
Oh CB I'm sorry to hear that you're not well and that the school has your blood boiling again. The law says that schools have to provide separate single sex toilet facilities for pupils over the age of eight. If they are allowing a so-called 'trans' kid to use the girls' toilets, the school IS breaking the law if the girls are aged eight and above. (See the link below - page 5.) Furthermore, it is in direct contravention of recently issued government guidance on the provision of single sex spaces and the allowing of children to 'socially transition' etc. (See the link below - page 14.)
The very best of luck on Sunday, CB. I'll be cheering you on (from my chaise longue!) May the wind be at your heels.
thanks so much for this JL, i was literally just exchanging texts with a wonderful brilliant mum about all this. She is very upset. Bit worried about running 26 miles with a bug. I’ve done it before and my body was not behaving. it was tough, basically JL it was touch and go for about 5 mins. I won’t go into it- i nearly shat myself there i’ve said it. Sorry thats too much information. But if i can combine a message about safe guarding and shitting myself, obviously i’m going to have to write it. Oh dear i think these nights off the booze have lowered my filter. Apologies JL!
Brilliant thanks JL, its funny isnt it punk, because there was a brief period where the original anti establishment message had become completely un controversial. So the genre felt a bit pointless to me, it just became an aesthetic but now punk musicians can re light anger in the general population by just stating some facts! job done! A woman can’t have a penis- social uproar, the genre lives!
It was bum-clenchingly bad, Dusty! "Thank you Farmer's Wife..." Ugh! (Though I must admit that I do have a soft spot for John Lydon. Not only because of his former fabulous punkness, but because he was an absolute diamond, caring for his wife who had Alzheimer's. Fair Play.)
oh Dusty i got my second run on sunday and i’m full of cold. Last time i ran this distance with a bug i came pretty close to having complete bowel failure at about mile 23. If it wasn’t for the kindness of strangers and suburbia it would have been a disaster. Sorry to much information but i thought you’d like to know.
i went all in JL and broke myself. But i got round and im off to do a gig now. it was i’d say the last 1hr and a half were just basicallt unbearable- well awful. I was in so much pain when i finished i coulf see my whole lower body going into cramp and frankly i think i was quite close to tears if that had happened. How strange to experience that. A first for me, the fear of pain and being trapped in it was quite terrible. I got a brief insight there. Sorry rambling as usual. Off to a gig now. Time to go all in again. have a restful evening.
Ah CB! You're a proper legend! Proper well done for not giving up and for finishing the race despite being in such pain. What a trooper! Hope you have a great night at the gig and aren't too 'broken'. Take good care & look after those aching limbs.
oh Dusty, i listened to my heart not my head and broke myself by going too fast for the first bit. Oh well. A beautiful course. I will always Dusty go ‘all in’ with everything i do. I still beat my london time and it was well hilly and hot.
Well, what a week it's been in Europe and the US. Thanks a lot JL.
Love the Telegraph cartoon at the top!
That quote on the judgement in Spain: “The necessary finding of a sufficient factual basis on which to express public opinion.” is great. I'm going to try and memorise this.
Thanks also for the insanely clever xylophone rendition of Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring. The amount of work that must have gone into this is mind-blowing.
JL, as a Canadian, the organization of Stonewall has intrigued me. It seems to have set itself up as an institutional extortion operation. There's a charge for their stamp of approval. This 'legitimate' shakedown seems to have been a financial boondoggle for Stonewall and I can see why they want to retain their hold. You report that Sport England has cut their ties with Stonewall which I'm hoping is the start of a domino exit for other institutions to follow. Does anyone know what Stonewall charged the various organizations that signed up for this rubber-stamping? They are listed as a charity so I'm thinking this information is public. Just curious.
I think they have a very complicated scale of charges for membership dependent on a myriad of factors (size and type of the organisation, number of employees etc). Freedom of Information requests have revealed that some public bodies spend tens of thousands every year. Stonewall's own website says that membership can be had "For as a little as £7 per day..." which would suggest that, at the very least, it costs £2,555 pa.
"At least £1,107,868 was given to Stonewall through taxpayer funded organisations in 2022-23. This includes £530,482 through the Diversity Champions scheme, £71,071 through events, conferences and workshops, and £503,225 through grants. 11 Mar 2024"
Thank you for this. It's interesting to see the government financial support for Stonewall. This pales by comparison to what our Liberal government, headed by Trudeau, has given to the LGBTQ causes in Canada. He announced another 100 million dollars to fund LGBTQ community organizations over a 5 year plan. This is on top of the 10s of millions already spent. They also donate to groups, such as www.antihate.ca that look for anyone who is gender critical. Canada continues to fall further down the trans rabbit hole. There is a federal election next year, but I'm not that hopeful.
It makes sense to have "a scalable service" as Stonewall mentions on their site and if an annual fee of £2,555 is the minimum I would be curious to know what their maximum is. When you see the sizes and variety of the organizations and institutions, both private and public that have signed on, it boggles the mind. What a racket! We need another Jennifer Bilek type investigation. On a side note, I wonder how much Sport England will be saving by stepping away from Stonewall. JL thanks for your reply.
According to The Daily Mail Sport England spent £5000 on Stonewall membership in the previous two financial years. But I suspect, for such a large organisation, they spent a good deal more than that! Remember that the membership is just the start; if they want to earn they're rainbow points and climb up the rankings, they also have to shell out for training and workshops etc etc... Racket is right!
It's like a bloody pyramid scheme. They have (had) a good thing going. It's like the question, "How often do you beat your wife?" and it's up to you to prove you don't. Their escalating point system tells the world how big an ally of the LGBTQ community your organization is. Without it, you have to prove your not biased.
Exactly. They're very smooth grifters who chanced upon a money-making scheme with such an indefinable core purpose, no one would admit that, so threw their lot in with it through fear of being outed as 'transphobic'. It's extortion and they've had governments and big business throwing money at them to 'prove' their shiny, fluffy credentials.
It's not, I think, widely known that Canada has a variant of Stonewall: Egale. I don't know whether Egale awards ratings on an institution's fcukwittery, but a list of its government, corporate, and foundation partners can be found here ~ https://egale.ca/our-partners/ ~ along with its marketplace, which seems to specialize in silly underwear.
Thanks for that. Everything is now a marketplace (even and especially 'knowledge'). There are now so many 'official' or 'representative' bodies that are just private profiteers. Part of my role used to be to know the key players in one heavily regulated sector and who we had to meet with, liaise with or be aware of, so I could give appropriate advice. Spotting legislative changes and where the sector was heading, or where we needed to spot gaps so we weren't caught out. Continuing professional development (CPD) is an interesting and alarming area. I still don't know how all of this gender junk got itself so deeply embedded or so widely as part of that when none of it stands up to scrutiny. I work in safety, but it somehow got packaged together with safety, then health & safety, then 'wellbeing'. Yet these organisations keep growing and others don't know their 'accreditation' is meaningless. When Stonewall/Egale/LGBTYS etc managed to get themselves embedded deeply within Universities and Royal medical colleges as part of these accreditation bodies or with enough of the same talking heads on 'advisory' bodies. It occasionally pops up when someone has been struck off, or fined but this is still being pushed as a core part of learning and CPD.
It was made very, very easy for anyone to set up shop online wasn't it? They look 'professional'. I remember the difference when one of my employers got a flashy new website, which automated a lot of enquiries and I realised the power but distance that created - set up a new website and marketing strategy and no one really knows if it's one, three or 5,000 employees busily working away behind the scenes or doing what. I was often assumed to be in a huge team. How can anyone tell how legitimate any of it is. Actual experts and professional bodies are now fighting this, even from our supposed professional colleagues. Call yourself 'professional' anything and people will trust that. Get a dodgy social sciences MA, then PhD and enough people actually believe you know what you are doing. Something would be released or tweaked on our site and interest would increase suddenly, with more enquiries or training needed and if it wasn't planned we couldn't keep up with that additional traffic and do our existing work. And local authorities all became contracted out to consultants and with that all the knowledge and oversight disappeared with it.
"The claim that “safety” is being jeopardised has become one of the most commonplace tactics of activists. In the workplace, an employer is likely to ignore a complaint that a colleague has expressed a disagreeable opinion. But if the complainant insists that health and safety has been jeopardised, the employer then feels obliged to act. What seems like a legal requirement is simply another example of the exploitation and manipulation of language that lies at the heart of these ongoing culture wars."
That such exploitation and manipulation of language should have proved so easy cannot cease to shock me.
Aha, thanks for the link. And I think we need to keep being shocked and not let this wash over us. It's very odd exactly how workplace requirements have been corrupted. The being seen to act so you can be seen to be acting. Huh?
There are so many threads through this whole debacle - when people claim there's a 'safety' issue I sometimes ask them to point to what or which bit of legislation they think might apply. Safety is still about not getting limbs ripped off or crushed at work, or falling from height, actual real harm. And stress, fatigue and distraction. Or increasingly staff getting intimidated or attacked. Not vague perhaps hurty words you could possibly want to deliberately interpret to make yourself feel bad/challenging or uncomfortable but necessary feelings/safe spaces. No space is safe. That vogue for poems to be marked 'unsafe' in University courses or for books to be banned melted my head a little. It's not even psychological safety which is a necessary feature of all workplaces, it's morphed into coddling, coercion, harassment and the rest with people too fearful to ask questions. I'm never sure if it's HR teams who seem to push this and without much of an anchor to justify why.
Like all those multiple 'gender' flags, which only seem to be about how people like having or not having or talking about not having sex, or only sex on Wednesdays, plastered all over a Network Rail station to make passengers feel 'safe' which is now used as a synonym for welcome, happy, warm, fuzzy, relaxed, included, fun and whatever else they decide it now means. In such a genuinely hazardous wider environment I was awestruck at how that project was even suggested as a legitimate focus for any attention or money. It means people are more likely to ignore signs when they have no meaning or it's some Queer Theory junk, not your chances of being electrocuted. Oh, well done everybody. Then lots of grinning rail men stood having their photo taken to show how inclusive and diverse they are. It would be nice to know if it was that one very dedicated man who managed to waste all that time pushing it all in 'staff networks' or if this is supported more widely in that organisation that are still giving money to Stonewall to be 'Champions'. The fact he was judging a women in rail award really took the biscuit.
Thanks JL. It's such a pleasure reading the good news edition each week knowing that such tremendous strides are being made against this evil. I truly feel a relaxation since the Cass Review was published and a greater sense that we can speak more freely.
Thanks very much JL. Did you see Grace Lavery's appearance in Pseuds Corner, current edition of Private Eye? (link to screenshot hosted on imgbb) https://ibb.co/hHPDW8X
Thanks so much ,JL. Your GNS is what cheers us up and keeps us from total despair !! It's always great to see victories ,even small ones , against the sinister forces trying to destroy civilisation and humanity !!. Keep up the great work.👏👍❤️
Great stuff again this week Graham! UKCP/Sport England/Stonewall "another crack in the wall" and, well, everything else! I feel that many future mature adults will look back with a deep squirm at pics of themselves being "a girl" or "a boy", in the manner of those of us who wore Bay City Rollers flares say, or liked Gary Glitter.
Great work abroad too - you must be exhausted! It's working though isn't it!
(Loved the fabulous Bach in the forest - human ingenuity never ceases to amaze).
Hi Giulia. I'll pass on your good wishes to Graham. But, just to let you know, it's me, JL, that writes the War on Women and the Good News updates, not him. 😊
Haha no need for a red face! A lot of people don't notice that there is a little author avi thingy at the top of the page. And thank you for your kind words!
Well bugger me , i actually received a reply from the Convener of alba , apparently I was one of the first 250 that reponded within 48 hours ,ffs good scottishland people , even with a poor membership of 2000 members that’s only an 1/8 of a reply - I might be wrong my maths is shit but Jfc , get a grip folks
Rant over back to watching some nonsensical violence with roadhouse 🤛😂
So many brave women putting themselves on the line to end this fashionable fetish nonsense and keep the world safe for women and girls.
So pleased to see Graham having a positive trip to Oz. He deserves a reward for his courage over recent years. Thanks to you too JL for keeping this Substack well informed. We’ve all come a long way but judging by the enraged noises coming from the Tras we must be getting somewhere.

Good job I've already had my lunch! Best of luck, mate! 😊
😂 poor JL.
And I thought me n him were mates! 😉
This is the Substack that I always look forward to the most.
Aw, thank you, Lolly. That's lovely to know! 😊
Quite so, CB! (For me, punk finally died when I saw John Lydon doing a commercial for Anchor butter... 😉)
We all have to earn a crust JL!
🤣
It was a crap commercial as well. There was butter running down his chin 😀
It was probably Take No 945 and they just gave up 😅
It was bum-clenchingly bad, Dusty! "Thank you Farmer's Wife..." Ugh! (Though I must admit that I do have a soft spot for John Lydon. Not only because of his former fabulous punkness, but because he was an absolute diamond, caring for his wife who had Alzheimer's. Fair Play.)
thats nice i didn’t know that.
I agree JL.
Plus he famously called out Jimmy Saville on a BBC interview and they did not show the interview. Aunty Beeb eh?

If it wasn’t for the kindness of strangers and suburbia it would have been a disaster. Sorry to much information but i thought you’d like to know.
Well done, CB. What endurance! Where was the run BTW?
Dusty
its not until this sunday Dusty but thanks!
Oh ok, CB, best of luck😊

Ha ha! thats brilliant JL! Poor Johnny, still at least he had some social capital from which to sell out from. I have no such capital JL 🥲.
Did he then do This Is Not An Advert or am I getting confused 😅
i don’t know Dusty
That was a bit of an obscure joke, CB 😊
When Johnny was with PIL, his record company asked him to ado a love song. Here it is:

Interestingly, Andrew Doyle's most recent substack is on The Scourge of Safetyism: https://andrewdoyle.substack.com/p/the-scourge-of-safetyism/comments?publication_id=825968&post_id=144122792&isFreemail=false&comments=true
Yes, the momentum seems to be building with every gathering day...

Hey WOTE. I've asked Graham to share this petition on Twitter. Hope it helps!
Hi JL. Many thanks - 1 complication - I've just discovered it's been reworded and republished, I'm not sure why.
New link is

Don't worry WOTE! It's the new version which I sent him!
Thanks as ever for the uplifting GNS, JL.
Great that challenges are rolling against the appalling Title IX changes.
Well done Deta H and what a hero Riley G is!
Great that the Cass waves are still rolling in 😊

Hi WOTE
I have signed and will include in next update
Dusty
Thanks Dusty.
It'll be interesting to see if greater awareness since the Cass report means more people start to join the dots. Fingers crossed!
Thanks very much JL. Did you see Grace Lavery's appearance in Pseuds Corner, current edition of Private Eye? (link to screenshot hosted on imgbb) https://ibb.co/hHPDW8X
I did! (Though I try not to think about that particular trio too much... bleuh!)
Pseuds Corner once featured Titania McGrath 🤣
I missed that! PE of all satirical publications :-)
Yes the satirists not spotting satire 🤣
Thanks so much ,JL. Your GNS is what cheers us up and keeps us from total despair !! It's always great to see victories ,even small ones , against the sinister forces trying to destroy civilisation and humanity !!. Keep up the great work.👏👍❤️
Ah thank you so much, Susan. Your kind words are much appreciated! 😊
So sorry, I did wonder. Red-faced now..! Wonderful stuff!
Haha no need for a red face! A lot of people don't notice that there is a little author avi thingy at the top of the page. And thank you for your kind words!
