I hope the left (on both sides of the pond) learns a salient lesson from this. It does look like its starting to dawn on some - two House democrats have stated they oppose men competing in women's sports even though in the past they voted for legislation facilitating just that:

What must young women and girls think about Trump being once again the leader of their country with everything he has said about women- and done. How must it feel to have that be asked back to run the country when he has been convicted of sexual assault, used women’s bodies as a political tool. For a 20 year old woman in America Trump’s reelection must feel like a real betrayal. I think the American people must be without basic morality to vote him in. His misogyny apparently supported by the majority of their country. So depressing and upsetting.
My daughter listened to a podcast between Joe Rogan and JD Vance and said the latter really knew and understood what he was talking about on the trans issue. There may be some hope there.
Listening to it now (it's long with a few ads). Around the 28 minute point and for the first time I have heard a politician (JD Vance) making and questioning the link between the DSM-5 (fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders) and medics or pharma activists (or whoever) pushing for new terms to be in there, so they can then in effect medicalise that 'thing' they have created, named or labeled then begin a whole new subsection of clinical practice and an industry to prescribe meds and surgery to 'cure', 'medicate' or 'treat' 'it' (the newly invented thing they just invented). We know that those involved with the ideology and WPATH pushed for new terms and tweaks to the DSM. It's a very simple, straight and obvious line to the accounting drop-down menus for how they can then make money from creating that 'market'. And why so many doctors and 'professionals' have fought tooth and nail to keep their newly formed sources of income. This little cabal of so-called experts just made it up. That actually happened. Which is why we so desperately need those within professions to speak up and admit this is how it happens.
I'm genuinely surprised - this is what we have been wanting to be discussed which kept firmly being pushed off the table and refused to be debated ('no debate'). I despise Trump but I think this is a necessary step in the Dems resetting their sense of reality. And he has said that he will not interfere with abortion - it will remain a state level determination in line with the Constitution (which I think even Ruth Baker Ginsberg said was legally the position).
The Dems have cynically used abortion as a carrot to get women's vote for decades now - exactly how cynically is demonstrated by the fact that they have been in the position (more than once) to enact legislative change on the issue and somehow have never got round to it.
lets hope Trump uses his power to protect women and girls from gender ideology. Maybe it will happen when he refuses to raise the US debt ceiling and every legislator, civil servant etc stops getting paid for a month or two like last time.
Trump can’t stand again- unless he changes the constitution- like Putin did, I doubt much will change for women under his watch. He simply won’t be bothered enough to do it because he’s already achieved his end goal which was to win. But i will celebrate being wrong though.
I think the Trump show is a more professional entity this time around. The team behind and around him is firmly anti 'woke'. They've spent an incredible amount in the last two weeks on their campaigning on trans issues and I'd be surprised if they don't act on that as a priority because it delivers very popular, very visible rewards for those who voted for them.
