Oh thank God or whoever for your good news JL. Some weeks are harder to bear than others. You, JKR drawing fire to protect other women from prosecution, Kellie Jay for her ongoing courage and all of you people of rationality and good sense, keep the hope alive.

If you live in Scotland come to the Mound on Sat 6th April to support KJK or if you can, contribute to security on her Let Women Speak website.

i hope Kellie gets someone to stand in my city, i’d vote for her party in a heart beat. I take enormous comfort in reading how JKR is fighting this. But i spent about 5 minutes looking at how people talk about her on youtube. Literally lying about her being a holocaust denier. Thats the level of deceit we are dealing with. The school leaders, political leaders etc need to understand that everything they think they know about trans etc is propaganda based on lies. I’m trying to communicate this where i am. Like pulling teeth.

It's probably a crime for anyone in the Trans Tribe to actually READ any of JKR's books or writing for themselves: to remain pure of such contamination requires accepting condemnations by others of JKR's "bigotry" and "transphobia" as gospel.

Bad faith to doubt cult members, insubordination to question cult dogma or step out of line by wanting to see for yourself and make up your own mind. The primary business of cults is mind control.

I didn't know much -- or anything -- about cults when I escaped from one 35 years ago, at exactly the point when, invited to join an inner circle, I was also most tempted to stay: in order at last to access the book that only the inner circle was allowed to read.

But was already unhappy at being overtly discouraged from reading at all (I live to read), and seeing eyes glaze over if I mentioned related but "other" traditions, and getting silence in response to questions or comments outside the accepted dogma, and discouragement and criticism of personal exploration, and finally witnessing worship of a leader that involved literally kissing her feet... It all made me think of it as a "cult" even without knowing what a cult was.

And reading about cults many years later, discovered that every one of these behaviours is standard and typical of cults: to keep members in line with central dogma, and to shame and punish anyone who wants to explore and think for themselves.

Also, lots of people are simply lazy: they want to feel they "belong" to a group holding shared beliefs, that also make them feel "good" (or progressive or whatever) without the bother of questioning anything -- especially if it means disapproval or expulsion.

Cult leaders are very skilled in manipulating required beliefs and behaviours.

Add in social media with algorithms programmed to create more-of-the-same echo chambers, plus anonymity that further encourages online (and offline) aggression, plus lack of content moderation (or its opposite -- censoring all dissent), and here are the perfect conditions for cults and conspiracy theories to flourish.

My wife and I have started taking on , in response to annoying trans activists we might be listening to, the very careful and considered phrase from Helen Staniland ( Welsh accent): "F*** it". 😂

Ha ha that's a good point CB , there are going to be a lot of suffragette scarves!

For some reason this has thrown up Monty Python in my head.

You see, the problem is, there are just too many...

Brilliant work by all those amazing women and men who refuse to be silenced by the trans cult. Big up the Dutch girls darts players for so bravely and publicly making a stand. It's chipping away at the imposed ideology little by little. Bring on the avalanche as the cult falls and people can speak the truth without fear of losing everything.

Some brilliant pieces of news, thanks JL. And I’m so pleased for KJK. Love the photo at the top 😁

Thank you JL for the good news. I wonder if anyone knows anything about the amendment to the Treaty of Rome which is coming up for a vote on 5th April, called Crimes Against Humanity Treaty, which will add misgendering and speaking of biological facts to the list which includes such things as slavery. I just signed a petition from Citizen Go, addressed to David Cameron who will be the UK delegate to the UN General Assembly. Their petition is to 'Stop the UN from criminalizing your Christian beliefs' but it is not just Christian beliefs which are under threat.

Thank you very much for this info, Sarah. I will look into it.

I had a look at this petition, but unfortunately find it hard to sign anything that lumps biological definition of sex together with "traditional gender roles", pro-life / anti-abortion, and Christian beliefs: ie the exclusive identification of rejection of gender cult ideology with narrowly rightwing and religious views that I don't share. Christianity is structured as a basically patriarchal religion.

One can reject gender ideology while supporting contraception and abortion, not accepting traditional gender roles, not being a Christian, and being leftwing. I think it's damaging for a critique of gender ideology to be so narrowly defined by the interests of a particular political group.

Whereas the damaging effects of transactivism affect in particular women and children -- most specifically children who are beginning to experience gay or lesbian attraction and / or are autistic / bullied / abused / fostered / brought up in children's homes / affected by spending too much time on social media / vulnerable to transgender indoctrination at school.

And Helen Joyce in a recent "Joyce Activated" post (#73?) stressed how important it is to focus on down to earth practicalities eg of the nature of threats to women in having single sex spaces invaded by males -- details that are conveniently ignored and omitted from generalised transactivist defences of "rights" to do as they damn well please.

Expand full comment

I can quite see where you're coming from in the overtly religious nature of the petition. If it wasn't too late I would suggest sending an email, but the vote was today. I don't know the result.

I'm afraid I only saw your post and the petition today (too busy with urgent other stuff to read the GNS until today) so it's almost a relief not to have to decide whether to sign or not! But sadly too late to write an email, which I would have done.

Best news of all is that JKR’s misgendering of every trans chancer in Scotland and beyond (‘India’ Willoughby) to test the hateful hate crime legislation is unlikely to result in her arrest. By standing to be counted the Scottish ‘government’ and their police toadies will be running for cover rather than arrest such a high profile person.

I 💚🤍💜 JKR.

If you’re anywhere near Edinburgh this Saturday please come and support the rally organised by Kellie-Jay Keene where l’m sure she’ll test boundaries too while masked TRAs threaten to punch us! It’s from 1-3pm outside the Royal Academy on The Mound.

JKR has achieved two amazing things -- she has raised awareness of this horrendous new Scottish law and also raised awareness of how many dangerous men identify as trans. No surprise to any of us but I bet a lot of people have been peaked.

Hooray for the GNS!! Thanks as ever, JL.

The action taken by Murdo Fraser is very important and I think legal actions are the way to grind this to a halt. Let's get it to the Supreme Court.

One of my readers has said today re JK Rowling: "If the police don’t arrest her, then they can’t arrest anyone else for saying the same sorts of things. She’s made a magic spell of protection over everyone….. a Harry Potter fan could probably suggest a spell, Protego probably. Let’s hope it works. Wonderful woman." Hear, hear.

If only darts commentator Sid Waddell ( RIP) was still around to comment on these larping men. Great Sid W quote: “It’s like trying to pin down a kangaroo on a trampoline.”

It's going to be fun, in some sense, to watch the Hate Crime nonsense in Scotland burst at the seams. If anyone wants to support the Scottish MP in his case against the police, they can donate via the Free Speech Union. And as for KJK, what a win for her in Australia! Let's all be transfenders!

Expand full comment

Yes the Scottish police have been very canny: it seemed at first very odd that they actually INVITED complaints about "hate speech"!

Until 3,000 complaints within 24 hours about JKR's studied "mis-gendering" / stating biological facts on Twitter-X, naming a range of trans-identified male offenders, enabled the police to respond they would NOT be investigating them... Due to the "very high bar" required to establish any crime had been committed.

This huge response -- mostly anonymous, as complainants do not have to identiy themselves (therefore with plenty of scope to make multiple complaints) -- gives Scottish police the perfect reason to demand a LOT more funding from the Scottish government, if it seriously expects them to enforce this deluded anti- free speech legislation. April Fool's Day was a fitting date to launch it.

Thanks, JL! Here's my suggested program for working with youth expressing cross-sex ideation. It is based on all of the training from my career teaching children with special needs/trauma histories. Starting with a social history, reasoning for the purpose of behavior and emotions regulation, building skills for dealing with anxiety and recognizing the gaslighting of bullies who proclaim fantasies to be true, presents a clear and simple alternative to "affirmation." Everyone seeking psychological advice should work on sidestepping the emotional blackmail of the suicide narrative.
