High 5 to Jane on 5 Live
Listen to the brilliant ‘Jane in London’ verbally eviscerate Sir Keir Starmer when he appeared on Nicky Campbell’s 5 Live programme this week!
Jane began by asking Starmer why he isn’t listening to biological women on the subject of female-only spaces. When he spouted his usual rhetoric she responded, “This isn’t about being kind or dignified, this about protecting women. Why are you putting our dignity on the line for a very few people?”
When Starmer tried his usual trick of talking about his days as the DPP, Jane wasn’t having any of it. “This isn’t about you have done”, she told him. “This is about what we want to be done. We don’t care what you did in the past. We want you to say ‘Sex cannot be changed’ and you will protect us from men coming into our space.”
Jane went on to tell him, “You need to think about 51% of the population who are sick of the absolute twaddle that comes out of your mouth when we ask these questions”.
Brava, Jane!
Sir Keir needs to listen to Labour voters; according to a survey carried out by Whitestone Insights, the majority of them know full well what a woman is.
Leaving Them Kids Alone in the Lone Star State
The Texas Supreme Court has upheld a ban on the medicalisation of gender-distressed children.
The law, which has been in place in Texas since September 2023, recently faced a legal challenge with a lower court ruling it unconstitutional. However, this week The Texas Supreme Court upheld the legislation with an 8-1 ruling. Children in Texas remain safe from mutilation by gender ideologues.
A Whitewash at the White House
The White House issued a statement that it opposes ‘sex change’ surgeries for minors.
Last week, The New York Times published an explosive story alleging that US the Assistant Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services, Rachel (formerly Richard) Levine, put pressure on WPATH to remove age restrictions from its guidelines on ‘transgender healthcare’.
However, this week a White House spokesperson made a statement that the Biden administration does not support transgender surgeries for minors.
This statement is not only hugely significant, seeming something of a turnaround in White House policy, it means that any politician or clinician who continues to promote these surgeries for minors will now do so in direct contradiction of the US government’s official position.
Take Art
There was an article in The Stage this week, discussing the ‘culture of censure’ in the arts and the organisation set up specifically to challenge it.
This article focuses on Freedom in the Arts, the campaign group founded by choreographer, Rosie Kay, and Denise Fahmy, who brought a successful legal action against her former employer, Arts Council England.
It is extremely heartening to see this organisation and its founders not only covered in a major arts industry publication, but also quoted so widely. (Seems it’s getting harder and harder for the gender zealots to enforce that “No debate!” veto.)
“Great art that speaks of today cannot be made in a climate of fear. Art that has been authorised by committee can become propaganda. Freedom of expression and impartiality are the bedrock of our thriving culture, and we lose them at our peril.”
Sweet, Sue
Wimbledon legend and long-time BBC presenter, Sue Barker, has joined the debate around males colonising women’s sport.
She does not believe that trans-identified males should be permitted compete in women’s sports. “I just think you take away the young girls' dreams, so I am definitely with Navratilova”, she said.
Thank you, Sue. And welcome aboard!
Glinner Of Hope
Don’t miss Our Graham writing in Spiked about Keir Starmer this week.
And don’t forget that Graham’s memoir, Tough Crowd, is still available from Amazon, The Express shop, Lightning Eye, Waterstones, Blackwells and all other discerning outlets. (There are also audio versions available on Audible and Spotify too.)
How many women found themselves cheering along with Jane and her ‘twaddle that comes out of your mouth’ remark to Starmer? 🎉 What a total prat he is.
Thanks JL. We’re going to need the good news more than ever methinks.
Even though the Biden administration may say that they oppose surgeries for minors, they’re still actively promoting these surgeries for minors on the HHS website: https://opa.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/2023-08/gender-affirming-care-young-people.pdf
People should definitely be cautious about believing this “reversal” as long as the Biden administration is refusing to act on it
