Thanks for some good news JL but I hope you’ll forgive me when I say that if Starmer told me that water was wet, I wouldn’t believe him. He’s made so many u turns, his neck should look like a corkscrew. You only have to look at his cabinet appointments and the manifesto, to see what the intentions are.The danger is that they will do things quietly, drop schools guidance, allow all institutions to carry on spreading gender ideology, allow the police to continue acting like the Stasi, extend hate speech legislation so that we are hampered in our opposition. The ideology is too deep to just ignore, it needs robust govt action and I can’t see that happening. So the fight goes on and if I’m proved wrong…….🎉

I feel the same way. That man spins faster and more often than a top. I don't trust a single thing he says but yet I must remain hopeful.

Did you know that the human body has no sense for wetness, we have to use other senses to work out that something is wet, such as a change in temperature. I think this is why heated car seats sometimes feel like you have wet yourself!

Doesn't explain why the PM struggles to tell the difference between a man and a woman though 😁

😂 I didn’t know that nor have I had that experience. I’ll pay more attention next winter!

I think it might be if you aren't expecting the warmth, I got a lift once and I could feel this warmth spreading over the seat, so if you ever give someone a lift and they ask if your car has heated seats they're checking that they haven't had an accident 🤣

And tell them you don’t have heated seats 😱

Starmer's position has always seemed clear _ prostrated in worship before the trans lobby. I think he will make the odd noise about supporting women's rights while basically doing nothing _ much the same as the Tories.

You're right not to believe him, he isn't to be trusted, he says what's advantageous to him depending who he's speaking to. I don't trust him not to place women at greater risk, taking away more freedoms and making more provision for women who are trying to protect our rights to be even more easily criminalised. This government is going to shut a lot of people down

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. I suspect Anneliese is being lined up to be the one who gets hung out to dry when the first tough decision has to be made and the TRAs are upset. That is assuming Starmer has made the correct calculation that it is better to upset the TRAs and a relatively small number of young Labour voting wokists than 51% of the population. Oh, and now the detransitioner lawsuits are starting, Starmer, as a lawyer, might want to make sure he is not held responsible for the next Post Office/infected blood scandal.

Good point I would say the biggest medical scandal of the century

Thanks, of course, for the good news, JL.

I still reserve judgement on Starmer as he has appointed a huge number of trans activists: clown in chief Dodds for 'women and equalities' FFS, Reeves, Rayner, Phillipson, Nandy and even Yvette Cooper. Weirdly enough, Streeting does not bother me as much as these disgusting women.

I'm relieved Kemi Badenoch is still on the scene, even in the seriously depleted opposition.

Starmer keeps using the term "biological women". I would really like him to tell us why that is, and what interests he is serving. The term he should be using is "women".

Expand full comment

Yeah, you're quite right, we don't need any kind of prefix. We're women, everybody else is a lying clown.

Those trans dominoes are fairly tumbling, aren’t they? That’s what happens when people are asked to accept utter crap.

Except that the "ask" was actually a "demand with menaces".

Thanks JL for your roundup of goodish news. I can not trust starmer and utterly seems some of the messages have changed since being elected and fgs he put the fraggle in charge of women and equalities, the fraggle is a moron, why did he do that? I don't trust the Phillips on one either.. the video was hilarious

Thanks as ever, JL and I foresee that we will be quoting what Starmer ( finally!) said back at his colleagues. I wait with bated breath to see what Ms Phillipson does with the draft schools guidance! Meanwhile Ms Dodds has promised virtual self ID, a conversion therapy ban (ie transing away the gay) and misgendering as a criminal offence. To quote the Ink Spots: “Do I worry? You can bet your life I do!”

Another great song from Menno.

Maybe I can share a cell with Menno 😊

As always 🌹 thanks JL

I wake up despondent that we have a labour govt then remember that the snp were well and truly gubbed and all is better in my world , made even sweeter that if the Green Fannies had actually thought about how to cast their votes the nonce party would still be in up here

And the tiniest wee violin is playing in the background

Mr. Menno, sir, you have outdone yourself. That was hilarious.

There are a lot of "should"s in Labour's responses to questions. When asked whether gender ideology should be taught in schools, the answer “No, there should not be pushing of ideology onto children. That applies right across the board” does not fill me with confidence. Because they still justify the "teaching" of gender ideology and pretend it doesn't constitute "pushing". It's the usual slippery politician's answer.

Thankd ,JL ,for some good news. However ,i don't trust Starmer or the labour party ,with few exceptions . It appalls me how many WOMEN support female erasure and child mutilation ,especially those in the Labour Party !! Unfortunately ,as i live in Scotland ,the ONLY way to get rid of the toxic SNP ,was to vote Labour ,so i did (unwillingly despite being a lifelong labour supporter !!)! However ,our reality based " "movement" has grown exponentially and we need to hold Labour's feet to the fire !! Great song from Menno ,as usual. 👍👍👍👋👋👋 Well done ,JLx

Just seen this in The Times. Things are looking up.

Sorry, I don't know how to make it visible as an archive but you may be able to see some of it or be allowed 1 article. https://www.thetimes.com/uk/society/article/waterstones-sacks-reviewer-who-said-shed-bin-books-in-trans-row-xs8lskr2d

If you cannot see it all, here's the start of it:

A bookseller has been sacked by Waterstones after saying that she would enjoy “tearing up” and binning novels by a gender-critical author.

Tilly Fitzgerald, who also reviews books for her 90,000 followers on TikTok and shares recommendations under the name Tilly Loves Books, was let go after the spat with the novelist Christina Dalcher.

Dalcher, a former university researcher, had expressed her support for Seen, a new publishing network which claims it will protect women’s rights and raise concerns about gender ideology. In response Fitzgerald posted on Twitter/X: “Oh I’ll enjoy tearing up your books and popping them in the bin today. Thanks for the heads up.”

Hours later, after her comments were flagged to Waterstones, Fitzgerald posted a tearful video saying she was “heartbroken” by being sacked.

Waterstones later said Fitzgerald, from Worthing, West Sussex, had been fired for breaching its social media policies.
