Well, this is just hilarious. The sociopaths at Pink News have finally managed to be entertaining.
For years, the uber-woke and trans stasi have championed the use of the non-word ‘womxn’. It is has been sold as heart-warmingly ‘inclusive’ and progressive but it’s really a thinly-veiled attempt to enforce acceptance of males into the sex class ‘female’.
Pink News, of course, have always been very keen on the term; it undermines womanhood and ignores lesbians, what’s not to love for them? Here’s a Pink News headline from July 2019, for example, in which they talk about ‘queer womxn’.
But it seems that some gender ideologues have just realised that if a distortion of language is required to enforce the inclusion of males into the category ‘woman’, then this only acknowledges and underlines that males aren’t, in fact, women. Consequently, ‘womxn’ is no longer cuddly and inclusive; it is now deeply offensive and transphobic. Almost as if they’re making up the rules as they go along!
This week the online streaming platform, Twitch, used ‘womxn’ to promote events celebrating Women's History Month.
There was an immediate backlash from certain quarters, complaining that the term excludes ‘transgender women’.
The sands continued to shift. Not only is ‘womxn’ suddenly now not inclusive, it was “Literally created by T*RFS to invalidate trans people”.
Twitch then deleted their tweet and apologised profusely. Apparently, they were fine with using female-erasing language when it only offended mundane women, but they were mortified when the allegations of transphobia started to fly.
The genie was out of the bottle. There followed some feverish arse-covering in various corners of the internet.
Wikipedia hastily tried to alter its previous definition of ‘womxn’. The new one doesn’t make much sense. But at least it’s not transphobic, eh?! Phew!
Wiki even added this caveat just for good measure.
Nowhere was the reverse ferret more frantic than at Pink News. After years of enforced ‘womxn’ use and the pouring of scorn on refuseniks, the lads at the news desk must’ve been on the point of phoning Winston Wolfe, such was their mouth-foaming panic.
First, they snitched on those naughty kids over at Twitch.
“Please, sir! Twitch said a dirty word, sir!”
Then they tried deleting the headlines from all of their own articles which had used ‘womxn’. Spot the difference…
But ‘womxn’ has been beloved of Pink News for years! They’ve used it in all sorts of contexts and headlines.
For example, here’s a headline from 2019 in which Pink News reference ‘queer womxn’.
And another in which which they talk of ‘LGBTQIA+ womxn’.
And just over a month ago Pink News were even sneering at actor, James Dreyfus, for not wanting to use ‘womxn’.
Indeed, while embracing the non-word ‘womxn’, Pink News deemed the actual word ‘woman’ (ie an adult human female) to be “A hateful message of hostility”.
And now they’re involved in a spectacular cover-up so blatant, it’s worthy of the Trump years. Keep it up, you psychos! And if you want a real site that caters for gay people, try Lesbian and Gay News.
You have to admire how they are prepared to make complete cocks of themselves in their desperation to hate on women. Misogyny is quite the drug.
It's such a missed opportunity for them, too. I mean, I don't want to give them ideas or anything, but imagine if they just *owned* the 'past mistake'. If they'd said "Well, we used to use that word but now the movement has evolved and we're all a bit more mature and we've done all totally legit philosophising and shit and we've listened to our community, we now realise that we should move away from the word."
Because the end game is absolutely to drop the 'x' and drop the 'trans' and everything leading up to it is gaslighting. What better way to show the legitimacy of a movement than to demonstrate growth and maturity? "We felt it was necessary to use the x and t words in the past because we were struggling for acceptance, but we now feel able to reach out as true women and men...."
Or whatever. The point is that this bullshit practically writes itself, but the TAs always end up self-owning instead. I mean, *good*, it makes this easier, but holy fuck it's painful to watch situations handled so badly, time after time.
On a similar note, did you notice Katy Montgomerie being outed as a transphobe on Twitter? That's just *hilarious*.
