The Irish Minister for Justice has tried to frame it as not intended to 'catch anyone out' and that intention of the speaker is important. But, of course, it will create more problems than it solves and be used by trans lobby and others to bully people into silence.
A simple, limpid statement from someone who is far more intelligent and articulate than those who object to her and have no answer apart from threats and gibbering screams of 'transphobe!'
Thank you for all you are doing. I'm subscribing from America, a woman who has lost an entire social circle for suggesting that a fetishist academic probably shouldn't get to define what a woman is. I'm afraid to speak out further for fear of worse treatment than just being cancelled. I'm grateful for your work here.
I can hardly believe it's been a year since her brave, wonderful stance. And those cowards are still trying (and failing) to silence women.
