The motion for the democratic election of Deputy Leaders and equality of opportunity for all members to apply for these posts was not allowed to be heard at the 2020 conference. It wasn’t even allowed as an amendment to Mandu’s motion saying the Leader could choose their own Deputies. This is not “doing politics differently”.
I was tempted to join when I first heard about it. I’m glad now that I was too lazy! Shocked by Sandi Toksvig in all this. I knew she was involved at the start but didn’t know how deeply entrenched (and lifelong!) she still was.
I was so unaware of this. It’s true you can go off people. It’s funny how people who are not affected (due to wealth/status/profile) by ideologies that are based on feelings can be so supportive. Strange. It’s a very NIMBY way to live. Doesn’t affect me = I don’t care

Helps others = if it doesn’t help me or affect
