One day this era will be known as The Great Bullshit.

An analogy. About a decade ago, everyone was cheating in mixed martial arts by way of using "testosterone replacement therapy". It was essentially steroid abuse. I

It took a curious sports journalist (his name escapes me) to dig and ask questions about just how safe, fair and legitimate TRT was.

Surprise! It transpires it was dodgy as hell and the USADA was sleeping at the wheel (ring any bells?)

It's now remembered as a shameful episode in the sport's history. The same will happen here. Karma's already on standby 😎

The cat is too perfect 😅

I have had that on loop since Monday. My new hero!

It’s amazing, because the moment she begins to mention her pronouns, the cat flattens its ear in annoyance. Then, after slapping her in the face, it actually rolls its eyes before dropping to the floor (you can hear the sound of its paws hit the ground).

I’ve never seen a cat with more human expressions! 🤣

And with more sense and style!

Legendary status awaits. Move over Garfield and Heathcliff. There's a new cat on the block 😎

Don't tell my dog. . . but I'm deffo a cat person for the next 24 hours. Puurfect and priceless.

I have always said that cats are the smartest of all animals 😁

Hoping someone adds him to Sturgeon's pronoun declaration film. More than once.

The best bit with the american politician is when he says "it came as a surprise to me" after saying that "obviously" there were more than 2 sexes! What else would he be prepared to say in a similar way?

Expand full comment

His Twitter profile says he was a middle school teacher. (Sigh.) And is 'a proud progressive'.

Ha ha ha ha ha! Good point! He also said “I’m just a politician” and muttered about how scientists were “so much better,” or something that effect. Essentially he was saying he’s dumb and doesn’t understand much, while ceding authority to those he thinks are smarter than him. The Republican female politician’s correction was concise, precise and rather humiliating of him in its cool precision, I thought, although that wasn’t the intent (clarity was).

Makes perfect sense to me; there's nothing more scientific than *desire* . For example, I *desire* Birmingham City F.C to be in the Premier League therefore it's true.

If you correct me and assert they're a moribund Championship outfit who are a bit shit, you're dehumanising my entire identity and are just plain wrong.

Hence why I'll be watching the Blues take on Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend! It's the fact I *desire* it which makes it irrefutably true! Happy Days! 🍻

Omg those ‘Awareness Days’ 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, there are a lot to take in and memorise... But I'm sure we can all do it!

After all, these special folX deserve nothing less!

One thing I know is that comedy can kill any absurd political and social movement. Sid Snot, that character played (possibly created) by Kenny Everette, pretty much killed punk. Ali G had a massive swipe at hip-hop/rap and almost knocked it out. The office was a huge blow to corporate-speak and the pretentiousness of business managers. There was that show with Rick Mayall where he played Alan B'stard that drove home the corruption of politics There needs to be something huge and counter-counter culture that ridicules what is going on now. Something that gets under the skin of fear and the silence that fear creates. Something that exposes politicians, the touchy-feely celebs, and others who collude in the insanity that is going on now

A comedy about trans and gender issues would almost write itself. Unfortunately, I don’t think it would get an airing in the current climate.

I just retweeted Moley's Trannies' Important Dates. Priceless!

Expand full comment

I hope you memorise it!

Expand full comment

Thank you thank you the calendar, Moley. So much needed mirth in such a tiny space.

Expand full comment

My pleasure. Just imagine though... It will be twice as big next year!

Expand full comment

lol I hadn't realised this was your calendar. You RSVP'd on Twitter just now to my #DayOfRemembranceForTransAndNonBinaryPeopleKilledAtTheBattleOfThermopylae bash. That's 2 of us already!!! I've never held such a big gathering.

Expand full comment

Ha, yes! It's my complex and absurdly silly creation.

Well, that is two of us at least! I reckon there will be more.

It's a very sombre day, Aug 30, in our household. Candles, non-binary black armbands, the lot!

Expand full comment

I never even thought about armbands but I've floor length black curtains on most of my windows (got the material cheap at the market) so if loads turn up I can cut bits off as needed to make them.

Expand full comment

Black armbands from curtains? That is a lot of arms... I mean, mourners!

Does anything Nicola Sturgeon says, or does, really count though? I see her as more of a glove puppet than a politician, and I mean that in the nicest way possible

Aww man.. I'm a huge Alan Cumming fan. I can't even bear to read the Times article yet.. though I am liking the many comments rebutting it. Mr Menno needs to have a chat with Alan I reckon. They're both cabaret gays. Alan needs to be shown the way!! Rarrr! Again, thanks for all your hard work. Oh how great would it be to start a joke that cat's are transphobic? HAHAH!

Expand full comment

Thanks for this. Cumming was to be expected although his reasoning is absurd. Moral reasoning doesn't come easily when personal issues are involved. For some reason your email showed no pictures whereas invariably in past they did. Either you or aol has changed something although other emails have shown pictures.

Books will be written about this crazy decade. Many, many books.

Expand full comment

Oh they will be, but I imagine there will be much retconning of the involvement of individuals who are now buying into it wholesale.

If Kamala Harris does become US president she won't be able to claim to be the first woman ,she'll just be another US president

Expand full comment

Did she actually say that?

Expand full comment

The Scottish woman, I mean, the she/her thing?

Expand full comment

Yes. She did. It's her opening line in a filmed speech put out a few days ago on her steadfast surrender to genderism and betrayal of women and children.

You can watch it via Wings Over Scotland, 'So Tired of Being Lied To' https://wingsoverscotland.com/so-tired-of-being-lied-to/

Mysteriously, the speech seems to have escaped coverage. You'd think maybe the BBC et al would think it their duty to let voters know what her/SNP policies actually are, given upcoming 6 May elections.
