SUBMISSIONS CALL-OUT FOR FEMALE IDENTIFYING PLAYWRIGHTS/WRITERS/PERFORMERS/DIRECTORS
Empower Her Voice are looking for submissions from female-identifying writers for our THIRD scratch night online. It will be a beautifully curated evening of different forms of theatre.
The night will be a 1 hour mixed cultural show, with music interludes, filled with informative, creative, and unheard voices. This will be a safe and empowering space for those who want to speak out, empower others and share their ideas and experiences.
Details:
- SUBMISSION Deadline: 9th December (midnight)
- THEME: I Stand With You
- No longer than 5 minutes in length
- Any form is welcome: spoken word, pre-recorded video, poetry etc.
- Female-identifying voices
- We particularly encourage submissions from underrepresented backgrounds
- No prior experience is needed
- This is not a paid opportunity
Nobody is challenging it in the comments (the group has 12,000 members), one person asked for clarification of what female-identifying means, and the poster said "anyone who feels female" and that she used the term to be "inclusive of transwomen" - again, no pushback, just 'likes' and thank yous.
Yep. No man can know, ever - all those "living as a woman", "feeling like a woman" explanations that litter even official documents are nonsense. Unless you grow up in a female body, you will never know - and, for that matter, no woman will ever know what it "feels like to be a man".
I'm a man and I have no idea what it even means to "feel like a man", let alone like a woman. It's not a claim that makes any sense at all, as far as I can tell.
Yep, you just exist. We all feel individual things. Pretty sure the rapist trans identified males in female prisons, for example, don't feel the same things as decent human males.
That's a very nicely written letter, thanks for sharing it.
put so well - i bet they have a session of spinning heads after reading it
I guess that's all the AGP LARPers now identifying as seriously looking for woke... oops, er... work
Just seen this on FB:

Argh, I wish they would explain what "feels" female like. How on earth do males know what that feels like? Drives me nuts

"What the hell is a non-binary femme performer?"
A man - as far as I'm able to ascertain.
Perfectly penned letter. Very moving and accurate. I would rather have Her invest in women only business or On Glinners substack.
