Stonewall guidance and the beclowning of the fire service
What would you expect to see on your local fire brigade’s website?
Advice on how to prevent fires? Guidance on what to do if there is a fire in the building you’re in? Information on recent fires in the area?
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s website offers all this and, until very recently, a 20-page booklet detailing scores of different ‘sexual identities, with a definition of each one, to download from its website.
They included ‘sexual orientations’ such as ‘speciosexual’, ‘quintsexual’ and ‘lipstick lesbian’.
‘Gender identities’ such as ‘gendermaverick’, ‘schrodigender’ and ‘necrogender’.
And even ‘romantic orientations, political and fetish’ such as leather pride, rubber pride and master / slave pride.
The document was taken from the MyUmbrella Guides to LGBT+ (Sexuality, Gender, Kinks & Fetishes) book, by an LGBT organisation which states there are ‘317+ identities’. There has been speculation that some of the identities, such as the presexual flag (presexual means “preceding sexual development or maturity”), were removed before being uploaded to the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service website.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service removed the document and apologised for ‘offence caused’. However, their apology is over the fact that ‘this document does not reflect our ongoing commitment to the LGBT+ community’ - whatever that means, and they refused to answer the most obvious question: Why was an absurd document providing guidance to scores of gender identities and fetishes on a fire brigade’s website?
The answer may lie in the fact that they are proud members of the Stonewall diversity protection racket.
I know this isn't the thrust of the piece but - There is nothing that I could create in my silliest Photoshop moods, I do not think, that is more absurd and stupid than those flags.
What is more, such that it matters, is that they are created in such an amateurish way it is as if they were drawn on an Etch-a-Sketch.
All I want to know is can they carry me out of a burning building. If their priority is to support men simulating sex in the street with dog costumes on I think I'll just rescue myself, ta.
