Labour MP Stella Creasy had what she thought was a great idea. But she wasn’t expecting actual feminists to arrive and start bumming everyone out. These opinions were not acceptable! The thing, if some men are women, that means misogyny as a hate crime will also cover them.
How come there are so many women who are so blinded by ideology that they can't see the realities faced by other women and girls? I know it'll never happen - but I really feel these people who are in power should be charged in the courts with the damage they are facilitating.
Women are socialized to put others feelings and needs above their own. Those few of us who do openly speak out about it are publicly pilloried (at least in our social circles) and specifically told that we are harming others for saying such blasphemy as "females need female-only rape shelters/prisons". This open hatred and the casual lobbing of words such as "bigot" and "transphobe" cause any other women who might have spoken out to go radio silent.
Culture is how things change and opinions are formed, and unfortunately many (all, really) popular female podcasters and influencers are TWAW chanters. The Guilty Feminist (which had SC on as a guest) and the High Low podcasts, hugely popular among younger women, never have any gender-critical voices, quite the opposite.
I would also highly recommend Dreger's "Galileo's Middle Finger" to get a good understanding of how ideologies can undermine research and public discourse and The Social Dilemma (Sam Harris just did a podcast with one of the key people behind the documentary) to understand how misinformation and tribalism spread. The book includes and goes well beyond gender ideology and the documentary describes how social sites are programmed to entrench you in ideologies without seeing any sources for the other side (or any primary sources). Really, everything comes down to looking at primary sources for oneself (and primary sources do not include but the sources that those papers use).
