There will be so much damage in this generation.

There are going to be a lot of unwell people who, because of inadequate NHS resources and provision, won't get the help they'll eventually need. Certainly not in terms of psychotherapeutic treatment. Exploring any comorbidities is essential before young people go ahead with this kind non-essential treatments and life changing surgery. To advocate against that happening is irresponsible and unethical.

Some might not regret their decision, but they will still have the same lack of regret if investigation into their psychological well-being had taken place beforehand.

"Families of transdysmorphics are like families of anorexics, only we are told we should help them starve themselves to death and anything else is abusive."

Oh god yes, and worse.

Sometimes parents are the only ones who aren't cheerleaders to their teen/vulnerable young adult being indoctrinated to maim themselves. Sometimes other family members are key groomers, cheering on a teen to self-harm (Intersectional 'social justice' and 'trans rights' are the right side of history!!). Coaxing from a distance online, mindlessly affirming toward T and mastectomy, cheering when breasts are amputated.

Autistic people, including the very high-functioning, are especially challenged about recognising who to trust or not, about ability to properly self-reflect. They can be especially suggestible about identity, belonging, self-esteem, other reasons why they comprise 35-40% of young people turning up at GIDS, according to David Bell. (NB: Autism is not BPD... neither is being a victim of rape or sexual abuse... just saying.)

The 'affirming' sorts of relatives or friends feel justified in ignoring and undermining parents' intimate knowledge and love for their kid, and sometimes act to undermine a trans-ID'd teen's trust in parents, when parents might be the only ones actually attuned to what's really in their kid's interest or not. Righteous believers in the Church of Intersectional Wokeries will celebrate a relative's massive self-harm when it's the ideologically fashionable kind.

It's tearing families apart, bigtime.

Yet parents are gagged. Cannot speak out freely or they risk ostracisation and, especially, potential loss of relations with their kid. Sane, rational, loving parents whose deepest instincts are to protect their kid from harm are the voices least heard in this insanity, even less than detransitioners, I think. (Yes, PITT now exists, but off radar, zero MSM coverage of such voices, except to pretend there's an epidemic of parents who 'don't support' their supposed trans kid).

I'm so so sorry that she is in pain and for all the difficulties that you and your family are going through. I do hope she can still be treated for BPD etc. It should still be treated.

So angry about this and so sorry about all this pain. It's wrong wrong wrong.

I have a psychology degree and this insanity is driving me mad. No-one should ever be given extreme medication without treating underlying mental health issues. I think it's a terrible idea. Different things cause gender dysphoria and they know that.

Co-morbidities can interfer with assessments. That's something that is known. For example I couldn't get assessed for autism when I was suffering with depression. They wanted that treated first. Things mask each other.

It really sucks - you have my heartfelt sympathy. This is so wrong

It's the field that's supposed to be helping people. I'm so glad I'm not in training to be a counsellor - I nearly signed up.

That man is a serious danger. Especially to gay people & trans who just want to get on with their lives. The backlash against this will affect us all. He’s beyond dangerous, actually. Makes me livid.

They say facts don't care about your feelings. And apparently hormones don't care about your gender identity 🤷

When that euphoria wears off…

Exactly. I've no doubt that poor girl did feel "amazing" because she'd been convinced that her mental health issues were down to her being " in the wrong body." I can't imagine the state of her mental health when she realises that's bullshit and now she's got ugly scars where her healthy breasts should be. It's straight-up abuse of vulnerable people.

This is horrifying…That poor girl’s testimony should be shouted from the rooftops! Once again, thank you Graham.

This is how the aptly named Louth Butcher (Sidhbh Gallagher) makes her money off vulnerable young girls in America (and advertises it on Tick Tock, where the audience is recognised to be young, to boot). ‘Top surgery’ my eye, it’s a double mastectomy (and a substandard one at that) with the negative physical and psychological sequelae that ensues from the senseless removal of perfectly healthy breast tissue. 😱😱😱😠😡😤

Its like people who overdrink, overeat, take drugs etc and then wonder why they don't feel right...you cannot go against biology!

It effects us all...no escape.

But I will point out that even drug-takers can recover from their self-harm. There is no recovering from irreversible self-mutilation.

Wounds, multiple surgeries, incisions, suppurations, castrations, colostomies, catheters, hormone injections, removal of wombs, medical waste buckets brimming with healthy young breasts — all these horrors hidden behind the pallid blue and pink of the “trans” flag. There’s not enough glitter and rainbow and PR in all the world to camouflage the bodily butchery and psychological tragedy.

Dear God ,when will this carnage end That picture looks really horrible .So tragic for those young girls ,playing straight into the hands of men who get a kick out of female mutilation!! Evil beyond words 🤮👎💔

Young women’s will to autonomy is being broken. By rape culture. By pornographic culture. By “trans” ideological culture. Would we all heed the words of this Cheyenne proverb:

"A nation is not conquered until the hearts of its women are on the ground. Then it is finished, no matter how brave its warriors or how strong their weapons."

The reported age starts at 13 because of the COPPA restriction in the US. There are of course plenty younger than that, lying about age is common and easy because nothing is verified. Engagements (how much the app is actually used) are much higher among the younger users.

Remember that Snapchat gained its early popularity a decade ago based on self destructing messages. Basically a core part of its business was as a sexting platform for teens with clever marketing to pretend it was something innocent.

Here's something from an old email which shows how biased towards younger users Snapchat is. 78% of those aged 18 to 24 in the U.S. used it in 2018, and then it drops off far sharper in older groups compared to other social platforms. The majority of those young users would use it daily. I can't find public data for 13-17, but that's the audience advertisers went to the platform for.
