Brave woman. Thank you for speaking up Lesley. In solidarity I will not shop at JL until these offensive policies are reversed and women are protected and dignified.

I am NOT a JL customer

But I have pointed out how much money I have paid at a company business before I walk out finally due to prejudice disability hate racism, antisemitism.

It was £600 per month at one place between me (Eurgh a Person Like YOU?? YUP!) and my Jewish companion.

And of course pass it round Trustpilot dont let you saya place is racism sexist misogynist antisemitic disability hating and likely to poison you on purpose if you have a food allergy But word gets round.

Nothing Brave or Solidarity in losing or packing in your job. Many cant afford it, and its getting worse if no income. Last words of solidarity as one dies as evicted chucked out children taken into care and you on the streets. Pretty false and empty "Go Well" as you get the pat on the shoulder. Nobody really Cares.

If only John Lewis was proud of terrific employees like Lesley

It seems to always be the case the “inclusive” policies actually exclude the people who most need to be protected

The blokes could be full eunuchs and they would still have no business demanding that anyone - male or female - accept them as women or tolerate their presence in women's-only spaces. And they certainly have no right to expose minors to their grotesque act.

What a brilliant, barnstorming letter. Great work Leslie.

How many women of faith work in John Lewis? Women whose pastoral needs are completely overlooked.

Mixed sex changing rooms too, I refuse to shop there these days.

Couldn't agree more with this description: a brilliant, barnstorming letter. I can't believe John Lewis has been captured by this men's movement and is now losing brilliant staff like Lesley.

Fantastic letter, brilliantly expressed, the justified anger shines through. I wrote to John Lewis a while ago about this issue and I encourage others to do the same. It’s time this mens rights ideology was stopped and kicked out of public life into the gutter where it belongs. Enough is enough.

I think we should all actually write to our MPs, or even Starmer come to that 🤷‍♀️inundate them with our strength of feelings on this issue - it’s just sodden and dripping in misogynistic patriarchal male-entitled BS

Thank you for speaking out, Lesley. Just cancelled my JL account and won’t be shopping in their stores until safe single-sex spaces are returned to women and men in frocks are told to take a hike.

Bravo Lesley, I for one will support your position by not going into a JL until I see on the BBC six o'clock news that they have addressed this situation adequately.

John Lewis have lost a diamond and have only a tarnished reputation to present to the world.

To be honest, it won't appear anywhere. Things like this are always ignored.

I've been steering clear of JL but on a recent shopping trip with my daughter she wanted to look for something there. There was definitely a very different atmosphere in the store and I was surprised by the limited range of products available. This didn't feel or look like a store that's doing so well it can afford to alienate women, who surely constitute the majority of their customers. I was pleased that they didn't have anything my daughter wanted and glad to get out without spending any money.

Will you publish the reply from John Lewis?

Reply???

Haha!!

I bet the most she will get is a post card with the slogan "BE KIND"

and on the reverse: John Lewis is an inclusive employer

Maybe a bunch of women should 'id' as men and gather in the men's toilet whenever senior male managers, go in. Maybe coordinate with the biggest and burliest male GCs to follow senior female managers into the ladies when there aren't other women in there.

I suspect that might have an effect.

Just watched the whole video. It was a beautiful production, Ute. Filmmaker Vaishnavi Sundar used real voices and gorgeous watercolor animation, in places, to preserve anonymity. Highly recommend.

Well said Lesley you are so right about the many abused women needing to feel safe at work and just who made this decision that is nothing more than a man’s rights move haven’t they got enough rights already

Can I ask everyone here who is saying 'brava Lesley' to write to JL and let them know your feelings? We're in a bit of a bubble here, and JL management aren't going to be reading this.

Agree Anne.

It doesn't take long to write an email and it costs nothing to send.

They need to be inundated with emails saying that people won't shop there until the policy is reversed.

I think if they did read Lesley's letter and our responses, they'd dismiss everything as a result of transphobia.

I'm sure they would and calling everything 'transphobia' is just so easy.

They sprinkle that word around like it’s fairy dust that means they don’t have to do anything - about time we told them that it doesn’t work, ‘You have no power here my dear’ is my usual response to that particular side-step of an answer 😆🤷‍♀️
