Pearl the story of your life is incredible and your art is beautiful. None of us with any sanity can understand how so many people have gone mad. I will be writing to complain on your behalf. I wish you all the best in this struggle, keep strong. You are right.

Thanks to Glinner, JL and Dusty Masterson for highlighting the terrible injustices against you.

LornCal's avatar

Hear, hear. Without these brave people, this ideology would be sweeping the planet.

Tenaciously Terfin's avatar

Unfortunately it already is sweeping the planet at an extraordinary speed, mainly because it’s a top down, hugely well funded ideology with powerful backers, in business, in transhumanism, in authoritarianism . We’ve got a long fight on our hands against this holy trinity, despite some wins here and elsewhere.

Gerda Ho's avatar

It’s sweeping the planet like COVID, only worse, since wearing a mask or isolating yourself doesn’t help! There is no antiviral treatment for it either.

It needs to be uprooted with mass resistance! In this country, Democrats are all for it, so one might have to vote for Republicans.

GC2ndwave's avatar

"In this country, Democrats are all for it, so one might have to vote for Republicans."

Nope. This one doesn't have to. One might have to consider how bad Republicans are on all other women's issue.

Thanks LornCal 😎

I tried writing but "something went wrong." They're obviously getting inundated.

Stroppysaurus's avatar

I sit here on the other side of the world, blood boiling again, cogitating how we can overcome this nonsense. What can be done? How do the other artists feel about this? Are there enough local ladies to protest at the event?

Emailed as below and entitled “Misogyny”.

This is from the UK and represents 100% of the people I know. I am not anti trans but I will not be told what to think by extremists who are determined to undermine women’s rights and safety.

If someone suffers from a mental health condition and believes that you can be born in the wrong body that is up to them but I do not have to accept this biological impossibility.

Trans women are trans women and should be allowed to live their lives as they wish, quietly, with dignity and without harassment.

As should anyone living in a free and tolerant society.

Your treatment of Pearl Moon is unacceptable and tantamount to buying into an unscientific totalitarian way of thinking that is undemocratic and which denies reality.

Who gave “Wendy” the power to silence Pearl and all the women who agree with her? “ Wendy” does not have that right in a free society.

In the UK trans people have the same rights as everyone else. They are protected by the Equalities Act, as am I, and my belief that you cannot change sex is a protected belief under that law. Is it not the same in Australia? If not, what went wrong?

I would not be writing this email if my rights were not being eroded by a sinister cabal of extremists, hiding in plain sight, who are either fetishists or misogynists, or both, and who want to control women, silence women and punish women.

I am a 68 year old grandmother and I cannot allow my 12 year old granddaughter to lose the right to privacy and safety when she needs it most.

Women are fighting back and will not be silenced.

You have shown yourself to be an intolerant and bullying organisation and you need to read The Glinner Report and then have a good hard look in the mirror and ask:

Was it fair to exclude Pearl from this project?

99% of the world would say you are misguided at least, and at worst, just plain anti women.

Misogynists in fact.

Susan's avatar

Well. Just got an error message. Have they blocked emails?

Zerena's avatar

I think they have. I had to go to their website and to the contact/event/FAQ page to finally get the massage to them.

Susan's avatar

Tried that too. They’re onto us! Running scared. Total idiots. Dish it out, won’t engage with the response. Cowardly and pathetic.

Gerda Ho's avatar

I tried , but finally gave up...they are Stalinists and cowards. Only their ideology counts.

Tenaciously Terfin's avatar

Thanks for the tip Zerena, such cowards who can’t even listen to another point of view.

Tina's avatar

Have tried several times and was blocked.Cowards!

Gerda Ho's avatar

Absolutely! They don’t want any discussion! That’s the way of all authoritarians!

Stroppysaurus's avatar

I have been blocked too.

trudie63's avatar

Agree with nearly all you said here except there is no such thing as a trans woman they are trans identifying males TIM'S I'm not giving them the impression that they are a subset of women when they are not and can never be. Your email was excellent, to the point and explained very well I think

Gerda Ho's avatar

Transwomen are men! They have never been women and never will be! There is no such thing as a woman with a penis ! Stop the big Lies! Those lies trump Trump’s lies!

Susan's avatar

Good point. We are on the same page.

LornCal's avatar

Susan: "Trans women are trans women and should be allowed to live their lives as they wish, quietly, with dignity and without harassment".

Yes, they should, but they don't, do they? When you realize the pain and harm even these supposedly quiet and harmless transsexuals of the past caused, you begin to understand that they are autogynephiles and, probably, narcissists, too. They never appeared to work for women's wages, but carried on accepting male wages, in an era when women were getting far less than men - nor did they join in women's fight for equal pay. They hurt their wives and children by 'transing' in their middle-age when they were already married with children. These people, men and women, should stay single and childless to avoid harming others unnecessarily.

A wealth of information exists that gives good reason to believe that more or less all men who are not teenagers, who claim to be 'trans', are sexually-motivated even if they will not admit it, and the girls seem to be in the grip of a hysteria not unlike anorexia or cutting, and probably from the same stable. The clinical psychologist, Jordan Peterson gives a very clear psychological picture of the forces and negative emotions that drive young females. If you want unvarnished truths, he is your man, and he takes no hostages. He is a conservative and not to everyone's taste, but, by god, he shoots from the hip and manages to be extremely empathetic at the same time. I hope that Graham, Arty and Helen might have him on a 'Mess' some day.

Susan's avatar

Yes agree with you. But if you don’t put the disclaimer in it gives these nut jobs the ammunition to attack you in the usual way. TERF, bigot, witch, cancel and silence the hag etc. Just setting the scene with my neutral caveat. I distrust deeply any man claiming to be a woman, the extremists are creating an opposition that didn’t previously exist. Now that the cult has become an industry we need to be clever in our approach, show that we are reasonable and therefore highlighting their mania.

Gerda Ho's avatar

But if you put in that disclaimer, it still doesn’t make any difference to them. You have to say that Transwomen are women...nothing else counts. “Transwomen are transwomen” is like saying “ chickens are chickens”.

Susan's avatar

Plus I am a big fan of Peterson.

Gerda Ho's avatar

It is sadly only Conservatives who are speaking out against the trans cult. So , if they are speaking truth to the trans “power” it makes no difference what political party they represent.

Zerena's avatar

This was my message

I have been reading about your decision to exclude PearlMoon from your forthcoming exhibition because she affirms that women are adult human females and has spoken about women’s rights on a platform you (wrongly) believe is anti-trans. I and many, I would say most, women believe the same as Pearl Moon but that doesn’t make us anti-trans. We have sympathies with those with personality disorders, confused feelings about their bodies and their social conditioning but women are still entitled to safety, dignity and spaces where they can be with other women, compete with other women and heal with other women without the male sex present. This is not too much to ask.

This may not be in accord with your own feelings but to exclude any woman for expressing this is prejudiced, unfair and rather bigoted. Everyone is entitled to express their views and Pearl Moon has done this respectfully, promoting women’s status, which I hope you can see.

I hope you will reconsider and allow her to join your event as it will be enhanced by her beautiful exhibit.

Sincely,

LornCal's avatar

Very well written and expressed, Zerena. Well done, girl. Yes, they are cowards and the only answer they have to rationality and reality is to shut people up by blocking them and cancelling them. Unable to string an argument together because there is none. This stuff is pure, 100% horse manure.

NannaK🦕💚💜🌺🌱's avatar

Thanks Zerena. I’ll use that as my template. X

trudie63's avatar

Australia = land that hates women who speak for their rights. The Wendy woman should be thoroughly ashamed of herself? I'm wondering exactly what is the customer base? I'm presuming it would be predominantly women, how many trans identified men buy the clothes sold at this men's rights event? Can Pearl stand outside and sell her stuff?

trudie63's avatar

Thanks to Glinner, JL and Dusty Masterson for this sad news

Sarah Barratt's avatar

I was wondering about this: at least stand outside and show her art, which she wasn't able to show inside.

Clothes Moth's avatar

What gloriously beautiful artwork Pearl- you are so talented. I’m in awe. Anyone else noticed trans activists don’t bring anything beautiful to our world? They do the opposite as far as I can see

Helen McG's avatar

I’ve used your link to write to the organisers. On the website it appears there are only two-Wendy Roe, the one who presumably called Pearl- is from NZ. So that explains a lot. The other organiser is a PR/marketing person. If enough people complain that should make for some interesting conversations between the two of them.

Zerena's avatar

I’ve sent a message which I hope they’ll read and not just delete. The organisers are women. It’s beyond belief that women in positions of power over other women should act in subservience to men.

Susan Siens's avatar

It's beyond belief?!?!?!?!? I have a U.S. senator who voted against equal pay for women and she's hardly a one-off. How about the women who are gung-ho for war, war, war? They don't care that women and children are the primary targets of war, they want to feel the thrill that comes with mass murder.

Gerda Ho's avatar

I think they have bought the trans ideology, and anything else doesn’t matter. It’s their way or the Highway!

Dusty Masterson's avatar

Thank you very much, JL, for bringing what has happened to Pearl to people's attention.

I have been in correspondence recently with Pearl.

If she was in this country she could rely on the cases of Maya Forstater and Allison Bailey ( gender critical beliefs are a protected characteristics under the Equality Act to take action against WAF.

I don't know Australian law, of course, but I would imagine that there is some protection and certainly freedom of speech and expression are protected in Australian law.

I have suggested to Pearly that she might like to contact the Feminist Legal Clinic ( who are based in Australia) - even if she does not take legal action it will be useful for her to know the legal position.

Excellent e-mail, Susan.

Zerena what e-mail address did you use?

Pearl's art is amazing isn't it!!

I will post on this later.

Best wishes to Pearl

Dusty

Dusty, I used the link in this article, (none of the “contact us” links on their pages worked) so I went into “buy tickets” then events, and there was a link to FAQs and contact. That was the only way I got a message through.

Dusty Masterson's avatar

Thanks Zerena will try that 😎

I'm blown away by just those 3 photos of Pearl's work. What incredible skill and artistic talent, and what an amazing story of overcoming the odds. But this authoritarian, repressive, men's rights movement has struck again.

Pearl reminds me of my grandmother - left a widow, with 3 children, no widow's pension or any other support, but supported herself and her family with her dressmaking skills.

LornCal's avatar

Many of these people are evil as a by-product of the ideology they peddle. There is no other word for their utter bred-in-the-bone stupidity. You cannot be that idiotic by chance. No one can who does not set out deliberately to be that idiotic because it's the in thing, or who is so steeped in conformity that he or she genuinely is irredeemably stupid to the point of self-harm and harming others, basically through sanctimony.

That Wendy creature needs a boot up her cosseted, smug and virtue-signalling back passage right up to her one brain cell. Educated, outwardly intelligent people are often the worst. You cannot see the core, congenital stupidity that exists when people abandon rationality and reality in favour of fantasy and lies. Not cunningly conceived fantasy and lies either, but blatant, obvious ones.

It is as if a childhood fantasy of make-believe has set down roots. It is a form of self-indulgent stupidity seen only in the cosseted, pampered, intellectually-lazy West. Anorexia, another body dysmorphic condition which parallels 'trans' ideology is wholly Western, too. Only in the West could young people decide to starve themselves to death when food is plenty, and it is a gross and sickening insult to those in other parts of the globe who are starving, just as gender ideology is a gross and sickening insult to those struggling with being female in parts of the world where being female is to be a second-class citizen, denied much of what Western females take for granted, or where homosexuality is severely punished. By giving in to this evil belief system, people are setting out their stall for even more totalitarian behaviour. It is rooted in arrested development of the mind that manifests itself as an inability to think in any way that is not utterly conformist with the fashion at any given time, regardless of harm.

Those who exploit this human weakness know exactly what they are doing. These psychopaths and narcissists, global corporatists, bloated with almost the entire of the planet's resources at their disposal, pull the strings of the demented, the porn-sick, the fetishists, the weak and the lonely and want-to-fit-in-regardless, in pursuit of Mammon and power. Like drug dealers who cause so much harm, they themselves, do not usually partake of the addiction of choice, but stay above the chaos they create.

Hazel-rah's avatar

Persecuting people for their personal beliefs that have nothing to do with the nature of your association with them is a really, really bad idea. It is intolerant. It’s an abuse of power.

If I find out my barber is against abortion, I’m still going to get a haircut from them. it’s not going to matter a whole lot to me that my plumber thinks global warming is a hoax as long as they do good work.

We ive in a pluralistic society. We live amongst people we disagree with about things. It would be impossible to only associate with the people we agree with. This isn’t just morally wrong, it’s anti-social.

I’m so sorry this is happening to Pearl Moon. The garments depicted here are unspeakably beautiful to me! I know now how I can support her directly. Thank you for highlighting her plight here in this newsletter. ❤️

I too got the message that 'there was an error' when I tried to send a message saying that I was disgusted at the treatment meted out to Pearl.

Gerda Ho's avatar

So, they not only canceled Pearl Moon , but anyone supporting her! Stalinism at its best!
