I love this. Not the BS letter to the BBC asking them to repent, but the fact that Dr Jane Clare Jones sounds so like me when I read this poisonous garbage. Every bit of that toxic open letter makes me spew forth bile and vitriol. I am so glad I wrote to the BBC via their complaints form to thank them for their article. They need to hear that there are many people thanking them in case they mistake this crap for a majority and make the huge mistake of apologising.

Yes- I think there is a silent majority on this that isn't active on twitter. We need to make ourselves heard.

Expand full comment

Absolutely. It's so quick and easy to let the BBC know via their complaints form as outlined on the previous update.

Is not recorded, unread, as a complaint though? Is there a way to send in a word of appreciation on a different gorm?

I so love the bit about the "non representative example" in the self selected study of 80" being far too small to be if use. What did Stonewall and Mermaids use to project the numbers of trans young people who would be suicidal without puberty blockers etc. I can't remember, but it was under 50 and they self selected too, I think.

They just don't get how insincere and srupid they sound. In fact I would use the word disingenuous to describe the majority of those who have complained. Using anecdotal evidence as other people's lived experience seems to be a one-way street, which makes their arguments short-lived, shallow, and unimportant.

The media have to stop taking notice of the tantrums. Tantrums from toddlers and other small children, I can jyst about tolerate as they don't know any different. Tantrums from adult biological males need to be chalked out for what they are every time.

Rant over.

It was 27.

I knew it was very low but it has been used for years to make the case... As a, researcher, it makes me want to swear!!

Their 'arguments' are littered with this sort of hypocrisy and inconsistency. No matter that just five seconds ago they said something was purple, they are now saying it is yellow and they never, ever said it was purple. But we all heard you! Silence. Here is where you wrote it down in black and white, a million times! Silence. Brazen unrepentant silence. Cf 'wrong bodies' was their favourite thing to say until it was pointed out that it was so dangerous and, hey presto, they never said it and if they did they never really meant it. Now we have 80 is too small a sample to even consider what those people are saying but 27 is irrefutable proof if that's how you want it to be. It is textbook socipathic, naricissistic behaviour - the entire movement is pathological. The entire world is their victim. Not an exaggeration, look at how institutions and even countries are falling before this - Scotland? Canada? Spain? New Zealand? Australia? No country has escaped the abuse. It's Invasion of The Body Snatchers - quite literally.

The reaction from the twanz is classic narcissistic rage. Someone told the truth! Scream, scream, scream, stomp your feet in rage, plot vicious revenge, bully, bully, bully. That accounts for about nine tenths of it, the other part and in many ways the most pernicious, is the impenetrable stupidity of so many of them. GC world meanwhile is not putting as much effort into registering its support for the article. We know there are far more of us than there are of the twanz yet we don't seem to be posting our support in representative numbers.

Expand full comment

I agree - we need to support the BBC and show our representative numbers.

Expand full comment

I agree, I heard a Mess We are In podcast a while back with the ladies from LGB Alliance saying, and I think quite rightly, that they don’t want to get involved in Twitter spats and focus on the big picture. However I really think there’s a big need to demonstrate support here.

Part of the trouble is that I think a lot of us on our side are more quiet and reasonable and not given to raging on Twitter.

I understand we are focusing on winning the war - I’m just hoping that it doesn’t look as if we lack support. The average Joe Public will surely be supportive of this report and want concerns raised than even the 16k that have signed the Ranty letter. I just don’t want the BBC to fold under pressure

Expand full comment

That was my concern as well, focusing on winning the war and not picking every petty little battle is admirable but people have a tendency towards groupthink. And I’m not saying it’s the LGB alliances job to organize a counter letter. 16,000 Isn’t actually a lot of people, but it seems like a lot. To those who are undecided all these cool people in Hollywood and in academia, politics and Twitter are all for this stuff. I am concerned that if the BBC doesn’t hear back from enough reasonable people they will fold. It’s understandable that people are scared to talk, in many cases people’s jobs are on the line. We can’t all be Dave Chapelle.

I just hope it doesn’t look like we don’t have any support

Expand full comment

Me too. This is a critical moment - one of many for sure but if people are not getting their ass into gear to send a clear message to the BBC then we have a certain amount to lose.

Lord above I love the sheer intelligence of the women in this fantastic terf movement. Such articulate, bold, intelligent thinkers on our side. I'm so inspired and slightly in love with you all ❤️

this is so grat - I read the letter before bedtime last night and I went off to sleep wioth thoughts of printing out the letter and pulling it apart in a critical way - I wake up to find Jane has done it while I was sleeping. Magic!!

The delusion is so strong in that "letter". One hopes that everytime these activists cry wolf, that another person becomes immunised to their odd cult.

Badly researched too and showing lack of objectivity and unbiased thinking with a lack of evidence to back up their claims. Is there one lower than F-? Something around the Z grade perhaps?

Off topic, but I just read this:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59076614

Now the US has Gender neutral passports.

Pronouns are Rohypnol

Expand full comment

The process of gender neutral passports prob started the day Biden took office, bc it takes a huge bureaucracy like the US State Department forever to change things. Even though they prob thought, oh, we'll just need a couple handfuls of these passports bc the %-age of trans ppl is SO SMALL.

I'd love to have seen the look on some State Dept official's face upon opening the paper over morning coffee a few days ago, and reading the report that something like 30 % of Gen-Whatever identify themselves as non-binary. [*thought balloon: ‘oh shit’*]

We're so mindless over here. We make great pets.

My brother had his “gender” (sex) officially altered (from M to F) on his driver’s license and passport back in 2013/2014. Not sure who thought listing no gender??! (gender neutral) was a sane, rational idea. DOH!!

Maybe they thought that it was simpler than offering a list of choices I mean how many options are we up to now?

getting up to 90 gender identities and more being added every day. Also great internecine brawls are breaking out in the Church of Non-Binaries. Lots of scuffling for whomever is going to be the Popes, Bishops or ordinary worshippers.

I’m seeing new ones being presented via Tik Tockers pretty much every day. It’s utter insanity. 🙄

I feel like there’s gonna be some down stream consequences of doing this kind of thing.

A person with intersex is not another sex. It is not in between the sexes. This causes more confusion.

And is so offensive to people who have the condition.

Expand full comment

There is no differentiation between an optional identity and a requirement. It's hard for people to comprehend, but you may need to call yourself sis gendered in the future just as I may need to adopt intersex to access the services.

I hope you are wrong

It is evidence of the utter cynicism of the TRA that they felt entitled to co-opt that community into service for their agenda. The lack of integrity has no bounds.

It seems the gender ideologists are thinking about reporting the BBC piece to the police as a 'hate crime'. Christine Burns on Twitter (I think) says so. I so hope they do.

absolutely brilliant, we must encourage them, get up a petition to demand it.

Let them use up their resources to pay for revealing themselves to be the utter turkey gobblers they are

(with apologies to the real feathered variety who are far more sensible)

Wow! I am not buying anything Mars make. This is thinly veiled advocation of violence for people that disagree with the gender ideology. I'm utterly gobsmacked. I've given it a thumb down on YouTube and I think I may have to make a complaint about it. Time to push back.

Expand full comment

There's so much wrong with this ad!

1 It's OK to let strangers in the house when mum/dad aren't there.

2 threatening kids is cool

3 violence against those who disagree with us is fine

On the other hand, it also implies that people supporting trans kids are evil witches 🤷‍♀️

Though he may not be a trans kid, just a gender non conforming kid.

It’s normal to dress up.

Expand full comment

Yeah- my son did it all the time when he was little- put on make up, his sisters flower girl dress and everything, had a great time! I thought nothing of it at the time. I thought childhood was about having fun and being silly. Now of course people would be telling me to put him on puberty blockers. Now he is an older teen and dresses like a slob :o)

He’ll grow out of that too 😀

It's also legitimising violence against "anti-trans" voices.
