Is that a 12 year old boy,Ted

I am just listening to you on Plebity. It is so essential to have that sanity out there for bewildered newcomers who are thinking wtf is happening. They need this reality to ground them.

I thought the tattoo was a parody. It is absolutely terrible! the sort of thing you would get done for a tenner after a couple of pints for a bet

A bloke gazing at his scantily clad reflection in a mirror. I can't imagine a more apt representation of Sam ... or this movement as a whole!

That can't possibly be a real thing?

I don't get it. I speak a fairly decent tranish and 'non-binary' is 'feel neither male nor female' not 'both' which is 'bigender' or 'genderfluid'. Is the point supposed to be that neither fits? In which case he should really be naked and, er, obviously male?

OUT of clown world, what strikes me most is that he has gone through a lot of unnecessary pain for that over-elaborate mirror, which would have been just as, if not more, effective as a simple rectangle. In that sense it sums up Sam really well.

“I speak fairly decent trannish” 🤣🤣🤣

I took it to represent the Mirror of Erised.

I must read the Harry potter books one day. I hadn't realised back when they first appeared they would actually be required reading in 2021 to understand the culture.

Having now seen the Mirror of Erised, I think you are right

Just to add, I wonder if that trans guy is trying to imagine what it would be like if he could drink from his own goblet of fire

Sam's mum will confirm that it's an accurate representation of the mirror in her bedroom. The place where he experienced the most intense emotions of his life.

Fast forward 30 years: 'Hey, Sam, old man, why do you have a tattoo of a little boy in his underwear looking in the mirror?' - just a thought (and thanks for the reminder of the Flight into Terror episode)

Hilarious episode.

Love the added smallpox detail but wondering how the tattooist managed to not die laughing.

Oh, is that not just the shaving marks? Which leads me to think that's gonna be one hairy boy in his mummy's shoes.

Non-binaries are not cursed with hair (anywhere) so there is no need to shave, ever. That stuff on the wee boy's head is the easy-wipe plastic hair model.

I did not know that. Thank you.

So SS isn't non-binary then. I remember last year he was showing pics of his "breasts" on twitter.

(Easy-wipe plastic hair made me laugh)

"What's your tattoo of, Sam?"

"Oh it's a kid in underwear and high heels."

"......."

"It's an expression of my gender identity."

“Yes I’d like a pre-pubescent boy in tighty whiteys and massive high heels please”

If perennially lovelorn & seeking Sams thinks a tattoo of Sams looking at his Samself in a full-length grooming glass is gonna make him more appealing in the eyes of potential suitors, I have bad news for him. From "Mother of Pearl" by Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry:

Its the same old story/ All love and glory/ Its a pantomime

If you're looking for love/ In a looking glass world/ Its pretty hard to find

Ive been looking for something / Ive always wanted /But was never mine

But now Ive seen that something /Just out of reach glowing /Very holy grail

Oh looking for love/ In a looking glass world/ Is pretty hard for you

Few throwaway kisses/ The boomerang misses

Sitting at work chuckling over the tattoo. Also wondering why, if you're in front of the Mirror of Erised and you're a little boy who wants to be a woman, you wouldn’t see the reflection of the woman you want to be.

Am not sure if the owner of this simple tat thinks its "deep" but really it's just Eddie Izzard as a child.

Got to say I'm not really understanding the tattoo. Then again, I don't usually get the gender identity references. I'll come back to that photo later today when I've had a drink. The "Me in the nip. With a dog" photo made me smile a bit more than usual.

I used to hop around in towel-as-loin-cloth, pretending to be an Indian brave. The thought of having that as a tattoo, now I'm an adult, makes me squirm with embarrassment. "When I was a child..." etc..

I do feel a bit sorry for your man, though. Seems like a lost soul.
