It’s so very easy not to notice the impact on women when you’re a man and you don’t know and you don’t care.

He's a vile, narcissistic misogynist who actively wants women to lose their rights and freedoms. He's said it, so believe him.

oh Colin knows perfectly well the impact on women. The point is HE DOESN'T CARE.

Its a power trip. Its a way to control women. That is it.

and a public way to indulge in the seedier and unpleasant extremes of sexual fetishes.

…and/or if you’re a man and actually LIKE and celebrate the negative impact on women

Happened to me in Clapham Junction a couple of weeks ago. The eejit actually spoke to me in order to be sure that I noticed him. They are attention-seekers. Best to Ignore them. Unless you have a pepper spray to hand.

And all the other transgressions that aren't documented. Countless. Women refusing to use spaces because there's a man in that space, or a man loitering about that space. Women have been trained to be kind, be second, be subservient, don't complain, what's right before your eyes isn't actually there, you don't matter, he matters more, he'll knock out your teeth if you say anything, stuff down your thoughts, stuff down your fears, what can I do?, this is just the way it is, it must be me, no one else is having a problem with this ...

And really, why is the bar set so low for women? Why is the deciding factor on 'sharing' women's spaces -- assault or rape? Why can't women's longing for privacy and sanctuary away from the male 'gaze' and 'assessment' be honoured? We're not even close to that, but that's the ultimate aim.

I like your use of 'transgressions'

Yes, exactly this. All the invisible ways women have to alter their behaviour to avoid provoking or encountering men.

So many incidents have happened in women’s changing rooms and toilets, to say it doesn’t happen is disingenuous, but Colin Monty is a liar, but then his life is one big lie.

How can you tell a TRA (activist or ally) is lying? His or her lips are moving.

Both men and women TRAs do it, that's my point.

I so hope someone knows him and IDs him on the internet. Giant,. Misogynistic Twerp...

I'd have said to him:

"Excuse me, Sir, would you like me to guide you out, as I can see your vision is very poor, you having walked into The Ladies Loos by mistake. I have very bad vision myself - (I truly do, thank Lordy for the person who invented contact lenses!) - thus, I understand how easy it is to make such a terrible error...and I don't want you to be called a pervert. Here, take my arm...and I'll see you safely out..." ;0)

Ireland deserves so much better than this. Noticed in work that people in the Ireland office still show their pronouns on Zoom - hardly anyone else does. People just deleting them quietly

Does this mean that I can use women's toilets whenever I choose? I have an old discarded lipstick 💄 and some blusher.

I promise to put the seat back down.

So far, your truth and our truth, seem mismatched with the ‘trans’ lation.

There was a time I would have called this out but a few months ago I called out a big guy who was inching up beside my bag at a bus stop and got punched in the face out into the road. A two week black eye has made me more cautious.

I fear it will come to this and will be reframed as ' this hardly ever happens ' type bullshit .

I reckon that “pride” and “pride marches” - with reference to sexuality - are intended to stir everyone up and have no other aim. Think about it. Consenting adults can do what they want in private. No-one cares. But the “Pride” thing means practically whacking out your tackle in public and jacking off. The “Pride” thing is intended to rake up offence!

Pride, in various countries has largely become an opportunity for some people to make money and for others to grandstand expressions of more niche sexual paraphillias. So there are men in bondage gear, adults supposedly mimicking babies, naked people, etc. It isn't much of a reflection of the political equality and liberation of LGB people at all.

Sure, consenting adults can do whatever they like in their own space, but frequently these are public spaces. Whether it's a march through the streets or drag queens demonstrating their 'art' to a bunch of kids. They can't take ownership of these spaces, they use them with the agreement and cooperation of others who share them. But that is what some, or specifically activists, are attempting to do as they encroach more deeply and hang around a lot longer.

That reminds me of a story in "Acid Dreams" by Martin A. Lee and Bruce Shlain. Back in the 60s whenever some genuine anti-war protest march was organised by a sincere group, they would suddenly find themselves accompanied by various colourful clownish characters who would try to divert the protest towards such matters as legalising drugs and extending sexual "liberties" etc. There are always ways of defusing genuine protest.
