This is fantastic, partly because it disproves the lie endorsed endlessly by owen jones, laurie pennie, neil gaimen et al that gender critical views are just a vessel for prejudice whipped up by cruel transphobes, and it didn't happen on the internet. Here you have, on the world stage, female athletes displaying their utter contempt for the idea that a male should compete among them. All the TRAs in the world claiming that trans inclusion is brilliant and only bigots object can't tell a story as powerful as her politely delivered rejection. Claims of kindness, claims there is no conflict between women and the trans-identified males who want access to their spaces - exposed as garbage. I hope that sports writer who wrote how delightful it would to see males beat women at the Olympics watches this, and a small voice deep inside whispers, 'Oh, shit... I've been a right prick here, haven't I'. You managed to lift one thing, Laurel: my spirits.
