"No, Owen. What is gruesome is your complete and unrelenting contempt for women's expertise and knowledge about their own oppression"
Two women nail the misogyny of Owen Jones
The following is taken from a thread by Jane Clare Jones.
No Owen, what is gruesome is your obsessive monstering of feminist women who have an analysis of sex class oppression, and who understand the structure of gender and how it harms women far better than you.
What is gruesome is your complete and unrelenting contempt for women's expertise and knowledge about their own oppression.
I am not an 'anti-trans obsessive jumping on the Plymouth tragedy.'
I am a feminist thinker who wrote a PhD on male entitlement, and have published and been interviewed on MRA culture, what it tells us about the structure of misogyny, the relation between male entitlement and male violence, and the narcissistic rage that is visited on women when they do not comply with what men demand from them.

We know you only have your repeated ad nauseam one-note narrative about the evil 'sadistic' TERFs. We know in your narrative I can only be a swivel-eyed transphobic loon who hates gay people and is in bed with the far right, even though I am, in fact, an anticapitalist bisexual radical feminist.
We know that you are completely and utterly incapable of granting for one moment that the thousands of thousands of women objecting to the demand that their sex class be erased in law and language might have some grasp of their own political situation that eludes you.
That you are incapable of granting women any authority about their own political reality. That you are incapable of recognising that I am actually an expert on the structure of male entitlement, and that when I say there is a connection between the male entitlement and narcissistic rage of Incels, the male entitlement and monstering of non-compliant women exhibited by you, and the male entitlement and monstering of women exhibited by transactivists, I actually know what the fuck I am talking about.
You will not hear a word of this. Like the words of every other woman who has challenged you repeatedly about the unmitigated contempt with which you have treated women on this issue.
You will tuck yourself up safe in the knowledge that you are the voice of the righteous and dispossessed.
And that the women who challenge you are 'emotionally sadistic,' or 'weaponing their trauma,' or are just instruments of the status quo hoarding all those mountains of power that women have.
And you will never stop for one moment to understand that this mechanism of projection is exactly the issue.
We exist Owen.
We are no more a screen for your projections than we are for the projections of any male. We will not consent to being defined in your terms, or in any terms that serves the interests of males. We will not be threatened, monstered, or coerced into complying with your projections.
And we will call your endless demand we consent to your definitions of us exactly what it is:
Woman-hating patriarchal bullshit.
Helen Staniland also did a bit of sleuthing.
The language used by OJ in his quote of @janeclarejones is language often used by men to denigrate women's appearance - I did a search: "just look at the state of this" (from:owenjones84) Apart from one to lament on 'anti-trans' stories; there are 3 results, all quoting women.
After the Orlando Nightclub Massacre in 2016 (in which a gunman in Orlando, Florida went into a gay nightclub and opened fire, which resulted in 49 deaths) I saw Owen Jones interviewed as part of a panel on a BBC programme. He was agitated and kept telling the other panellists that they didn't understand the tragedy because they're not gay.
I think of that whenever I see him telling women that they aren't the experts on what women need.
OJ wouldn't dare take JCJ on in a honest debate - she'd wipe the floor with him and he knows it.
