A new Swedish documentary has exposed the horror and incompetence behind so-called “trans health care”.
A Swedish Mumsnetter just posted this, which I’ve reproduced and edited slightly for clarity.
“This is in Swedish only for now. A trans child, Leo was treated for puberty blockers for 4 years. Leo ended up with osteoporosis (significantly below any normal bone density interval), fractures in the back, constant pain and worse mental state.
The journalist also found an additional 12 cases in Stockholm only where children had serious side effects (bone fractures, deep regret from voice changes, injuries, deteriorating mental health and significant weight gains). Leo’s case was not reported and not one of these.
Leo’s parents were not informed of the risk and the doctor that warned the parents about the side effects was reported to the management and silenced (words like incitement was used).
The psychiatric staff initially blamed everything on the hormone team. The head of the department with the hormones claimed in the interview to never have seen the reports from the psychiatric team.
Investigation only seems to have started after the journalist made the program and it wasn’t possible to cover up any more.
And this was Astrid Lindgren’s children’s hospital, one of the hospitals that at least stopped with this treatment. Other hospitals are happily still going and claim that the treatment side effects don’t worry them.
The program finishes with the fact that nobody knows the number of children with serious side effects (some seem to be covered up). Some other Swedish hospitals keep going.
And there is an interview with two transwomen who think that it is horrid that people are using “think of the children”, that it is just an argument to deprive trans people of care. They think that the big problem is transphobia. These two transwomen also spoke at the medical conference and told the doctors about how they needed to shift the focus from potential harm to children to fighting transphobia.
I feel sick. I hope this will come out with subtitles soon.”
Believe me, this is just one of the first documentaries of the many that will be made about this period. It is the biggest medical scandal in decades and the coverage is just getting started.
That’s ‘Dysphoric’ And of course, there’s Exulansic’s channel, which made me understand that ‘I Am Jazz’ is the first time a child has been abused onscreen for the purposes of entertainment.
Never forget the names of those men (including transwomen) who swore blind that these treatments would save lives.
I've watched some of the "I am Jazz" videos commented on by the brilliant Exulansic and each time all I feel is horror. This is exploitative child abuse and everyone is a winner except (eventually Jazz). Who watches this programme for entertainment and feels fine about it?! Every time I hear a story like the one of Leo, and the detransitioners mentioned in the book "Trans" I am horrified. There is no informed consent here! Informed would mean they know the risks and they know the side-effects and long-term effects. As Exulansic said during "The Mess We're In", I don't want to be around when Jazz finally realises the full extent of what has happened. She already has mental health issues (seen in the trailer when she thinks Harvard would bad for her mental health and says her mind goes to dark places) - I want to scream at her - "of course it does, you're being abused so other people can feel entertained and your family can make money".
On a related note - I see Lush have spun why they have left most social media (except the cess pool that is Twitter funnily enough), into an attack on social media platforms. Nice try Lush, many of us know you're trying to come up roses after encouraging girls to bind their breasts. Your shops may smell like a sultan's boudoir but we know it's just to cover up the real stink.
God bless you, Graham Linehan, for your sterling, tenacious and tireless efforts to keep us abreast of the news. You are unearthing, and informing us of, some amazing - albeit terrifying - things. for which we are extremely grateful. Incidentally, can you tell us your Paypal account email so that those of us who want to donate through PayPal can do so?
