As a man who has spent a lot of time in all-male work environments (mostly skilled manual work so very little intellectual pretentiousness) most of the men who have a misogynistic streak to their sexuality, do nonetheless like and respect women, and wouldn't wish to encroach on their rights or their spaces. It's possible I'm being naive, but I think the sort of men in Graham's post are a very small minority. The problem is they are becoming emboldened by the knowledge that anyone challenging their behaviour can be dismissed as a bigot.
They are a small minority but with a huge voice due to organisations that should know better and the Internet. When they have a tantrum, politicians listen as they don't want to be seen to be transphobic. If politicians would just apply brain before opening mouth or putting finger to Twitter, we would all be in a better place.
It is not transphobic to keep men like this out of women's spaces. It is not bigoted or transphobic to want safe places for women who have survived male violence. It is not transphobic to want women's sport to be about biological women. There are plenty of trans people out there who simply want to get on with their lives without screaming and bringing attention to themselves.
But it is always a vocal minority that spoil it for everyone else. And that is ehat these men are doing. Women who have never been suspicious before definitely have their guard up now and the quiet unassuming suffer because of it.

The internet isn't the world. I think there is a need for some sort of objective research to determine just how numerous those sort of men invading women's spaces are. Of course we shouldn't wait for it to be completed before taking a stand against them.

Too often, it is the simple threat of invasion of space that is the issue, even if they don't actually do it. It is the same in domestic violence,. It is psychological abuse that has some of the most devastating results and leads to the victims having severe and enduring mental health problems that are too often passed to their children. All men need to take some responsibility and call out abusive men.
