Trans activisits think they are winning this ... maybe they are ... we are so far down the rabbit hole that it feels like the law will say anything it wants to regardless of basic reality. We are in a dictatorship at this point where law operates independent of reality. I had this in family court too - 19 years of domestic abuse including 2 miscarriages and broken ribs didn't happen because judge said it didn't happen. Judge then said why wasn't I respecting his judgement. I replied cos you are not basing them on truth mi'lud, so they are a fiction. He barred me from court and made me pay my abusers costs. I hope Maya wins this appeal for ALL of us

So sorry to hear this Vicki. We really are in dark times. We must all keep speaking the truth.

We are living under dark times as women ... speaking truth to misogynists is costly and often fatal

Far to common a story. Hope both bastards are well out of your life now & you're building a great future for yourself. /Hug

The judge gave my 12 year old daughter to my abuser. He has had her for 3 years now and she now thinks me reporting domestic abuse was child abuse and that good victims stay silent to keep the abuser and children happy. This was endorsed by her school, children's services and my barrister as well as the judge. The lies being told about what women can expect from legal system are enough to curl hair ...

The unfairness you've faced makes me want to scream. Thank you for speaking out as it makes me more stubborn against this vileness.

It's been the equivalent of being waterboarded for 3 years straight - I can't let go of my child yet she has let go of me. Grieving someone that is still alive but altered beyond recognition by the very people that were meant to help us is an alternative reality I thought I'd escaped 12 years ago

I’m so sorry but hope and believe she will come round in time. I have two friends whose ex partners utilised family court as a proxy for abuse. I know women are raising awareness (eg Jean Hatchet and I believe there is a very talented female lawyer working in this area from various Mumsnet threads). I hope as your daughter gets older she begins to question what has happened and alter her thinking, how can she not? I’m much closer to my mum now than I was as a teen, have been since my twenties (a while ago now!).

I hope so, thank you for the hope and support. The barrister I think you are talking about is Dr Charlotte Proudman

My older sister was annoyed at my mother for taking us away from our psycho father. My mother did it mostly for my sister too as I was my father's favourite and considered relatively safe. I was 10 at the time but could not believe my sister's ingratitude. It was France in 1970 so what my mum did was rare, and my stupid sister was so conventional that she resented our being a bit different from other families. Some bloody girls and women really, really annoy me. How can we fight back when even our closest female relatives can go against us.

So sorry to hear this, that’s terrible.

I can understand how Maya must feel in this hideous fakery men have made

Sadly many women experience this discrimination in court. Especially when, as with Family Court, it can be hidden and usually to expensive to access for Mithers who have to use a d prioritise only their time and income for the children by default.

Expand full comment

Yes, it is discrimination. These are kangaroo courts.

Expand full comment

Jesus, that was horrible! When you think of the amount of blokes always complaining how family courts are biased in favour of women, reading your experience is truly eye opening.

Expand full comment

My experience is common for women. Even our own legal teams tell us to keep the abuse out of the court as judges hold it against us. Male propoganda is all about men as the victims when all the figures show us that they arethe abusers.

I hope someone televises her story one day - it will be gripping courtroom drama.

Funny that! Sex offenders and pedophiles will go to the lengths of training for the priesthood and to become coaches and scout leaders in order to gain access to their victims but they wouldn’t dream of dressing up as women and calling themselves trans.

Women: "The Emperor is wearing no clothes!"

Women: "No, he isn't look!"

Is there a reference for the images; there appears to be 36 'trans-identified' males depicted, not 32 as stated?

What an inspiring gallery of stunning and brave women. I think if I had to pick one who epitomises the spirit of female fortitude it would be the one with the moustache.

Stella Creasy will be along in a minute to pay tribute.

I know it’s no laughing matter (OBVS!) but I just got the giggles looking at this shooting gallery of shit wigs HOW CAN ANYONE TAKE ANY OF THIS SERIOUSLY? Also this needs to be made available in bill poster form.

I mentioned a couple of Saturdays ago I had a visit from my MP and gave him a piece of my mind. A few days later I got a lengthy email from my MSP Humza Yousef who has been ignoring me for most of two years. I sent both of them some stuff from Graham’s cache of resources. No replies but I hope they were shocked.

Expand full comment

Wrote a rather comprehensive email to all my MSP's. Positive reply from Tory (list). Reply from SGP (list) who took exception to my saying they'd no ' mandate from the Public re self ID.

Also attached three polls incl. The Irish (Countess) one, asking if they still thought Ireland was a good example of 'International best practice'.

No reply from SNP Constituency MSP or SNP Westminster MP or 2 Labour (list) or LibDem.

Delighted you've got somewhere with your MP but I've got the rubber ear. Maybe the questions I asked were too difficult? 😜

I had written eight letters to my SNP MP without reply. At my door he assured me had never received them. A lie? Or perhaps his staff binned them. Anyway he obviously spoke to Humza and got him moving.

Can I ask, what sort of items you sent them? In other words what do you think worried them the most to finally 'get the finger out? 😉
