Oh this is brilliant news! I cried a bit! So glad & relieved for Marion. But it's an utter disgrace she's been put through this nightmare. (How I'd love to be a fly on the wall of a certain bus stop "actor" right now.)

Yeah, I had a wee look on his twitter - and he's gone a bit quiet regarding the matter....

Oh I bet he bloody is! 😁 I'm blocked. So thanks for the info!

Update - 4 minutes ago he posted the following:

"Just want to say that today and every day I send my love and support to all members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially to those who have experienced discrimination, harassment, abuse and hate crimes targeting you for who you are & who you love. I see you and I stand with you. (love heart emoji)"

Grrrrr... There's a man who hates to lose.

Agreed - he clearly lacks the ability to accept defeat with grace.

JL...seen this: "The Crown has confirmed charges have been "discontinued". However, that decision could be reviewed." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-59076966

Sounds like they still don't want to admit they got it wrong !! Gross !!

I would hope there would be some consequences for vexatious litigants (isn't he behind the nonsense being aimed at Ceri Black?) but I suspect there won't be. So pleased for Marion.

It's time he was sued for wasting police time.

Has Ceri Biack said who reported her?

Expand full comment

I believe so, but her legal team advised her to delete any mentions of him in her Tweets; and also not to refer to him again.

Expand full comment

Yes but was advised to delete, just in case.

Can she privately sue the bully and use the funds generated?

Expand full comment

I would donate to any fund aimed at sueing him! Just point me in the right direction.

I hated how traumatising this was for her but he needed outing for the vile bully he is and i expect he was advised it wasnt going to go in his favour.

1) YES!! About bloody time.

2) Now what about “Police Scotland” investigating vexatious complainants? What about some public apologies? What about some fair news coverage (remember that incident at the Doctors pub in Edinburgh?)

Expand full comment

YES to 2), bloody well needed!! They will no doubt want all to disappear, avoid getting coverage of shameful persecutions of Marion and other modern-day witches, and let it all go unrecognised as the travesty it is.

What can be done to help make apologies and investigations bloody well happen?

Ensuring that Helen Joyce's TRANS got posted to ALL SMPs and MPs has had a real, tangible impact. Is there any equivalent? What has been done to Marion and others is of far bigger import to Scots as a whole around policy capture, policing, freedom of speech, child safeguarding, women's rights ETC than most people realise.

I'm thrilled for Marion and all the other reasons to be thrilled, but was seriously looking forward to Joanna Cherry publicly exposing these people and this pernicious ideology.

What a relief for her and her family, but a disgrace that it ever happened in the first place. Let’s hope it forces others to reflect on their knee-jerk tendencies to pursue women who step out of line.

Excellent news, and all she had to suffer was about four months of stress, harassment, threats of imprisonment and being defamed on the internet. The process is indeed the punishment.

Expand full comment

What a relief. After everything they have put her through. I hope they don't think people will forget about this now because it's a stain in Scotland that will never go away. Marion should do as much publicity as possible to tell people what was done to her and why and the hell she's been put through for months for nothing.

I dont often swear, but fucking brilliant!!!!!!! 🥳🍻

Bloody fantastic news, although how the hell charges were brought in the first place beggars belief.

Expand full comment

These beggars have weird beliefs!

Expand full comment

Utterly nonsensical, pernicious, evil beliefs.

AMAZING NEWS!! I would have loved to see Parsley try and explain himself in court but great result for Marion. Xx

I had to take a few minutes to absorb this. What I have been waiting for since the start of this outrageous case. I was so ashamed of Scotland letting it go this far. Police Scotland must wake up to what is going on with these spurious accusations. As well as being happy for Marion I want to thank Graham and all of you for leading the way out of this mess.

Brilliant news, I’m so pleased that this nightmare is over for her.

As for DP, I bet Greggs is on standby.

Good news. Hounding women for their views has been a sport for the TRAs but hopefully this indicates that the police now understand their tactics and will think carefully before proceeding with charges.

Expand full comment

LoL such optimism, I admire it! I reckon Patel's announcement and the Stoneballs podcast, Harry Miller's dogged pursuit, the good people here and other GC pockets all railing against it have had more effect than them ever waking the fuck up.

Expand full comment

That is SUCH good news. She must be weak with relief and a billion cheers for Joanna Cherry.

Great! Hope NI police are having a chin scratch over this too.

Great news, Marion has suffered enough. This was a trumped up charge that should never have been brought.
