It's very chilling this constant and increasing rewriting of recent history and even the present. When they do this in our lifetimes and times we've lived through it makes my head spin. Many are like this, and rely on 'memory all being different' and 'perceptions are just that' to justify it. When the last of generations die who can say 'it happened to me, I was there' it's yet another way truth is lost. The younger activists seem so wedded, so obsessed, they are delighting in the rewriting as another way to claim power.
I think attacking an elderly man, who is one of the most well known, or the most well known living gay rights activist, is going to have consequences for these thugs and the culture of bullying and victimising they have created and are promoting. As well as enforcing with the help of cowards and influential collaborators. As we all know, Fred was present at the Stonewall Riots, he lived an event these fuckers have appropriated and re-writtwn.
Without men like Fred Sargeant, who lobbied for social equality, freedom from discrimination and prejudice, these people wouldn't have had a movement or organisation they could appeal to for support and a platform. Eventually, as it turned out, the MRA's and homophobes decided that wasn't good enough, they wanted a host they could manipulate.
How much more aggressive, controlling and manipulative behaviour do people need to see, before they realise that the right side of history shouldn't look and sound like this? Day by day it stacks up, the relentless misogyny, the threats and abuse. The audacious demands that people who really should know better, immediately acquiesce to. Followed by an apology and a thank you for having been 'educated'.
No one should have slept through abusive, misogynistic men frequently telling women to choke on their dicks. About 4.15 is where a young extremist leader says that Ben Shapiro should not be allowed to speak, and when the interviewer points out the first amendment, the young ignoramus says “I don’t care”.
