The reason they’re scared of Mumsnet is because the women on it can be anonymous and therefore speak freely without psychotic Munchausen Mothers like Helen Islan trying to get them fired/defunded/cancelled. Helen worked for Mermaids, whose CEO took her son to Thailand at 16 to have him castrated because he liked playing with girls’ toys and her husband DIDN’T LIKE IT.
(She actually said all this out loud to a Ted audience which is composed, like the Sceptic movement in the UK, of supposedly clever people who have somehow outsmarted themselves. )
Anyway, Helen also has the honour of being the person who was laughed out of court for trying to get Miranda Yardley done for transphobia.
And then there’s Joss Prior, who has this valuable opinion.
Who thinks this bald serial killer/accountant should get to decide how a website for Mums conducts itself?
Here’s an idea Joss, leave them alone. The wig hasn’t given you magical powers that allow you to order women about.
As for everyone else, perhaps it’s time to join Mumsnet? You can be anonymous, so get in there and say what you like (although their moderating is not-great at the moment, so get an idea of what is and isn’t allowed). The comments section are regularly invaded by chinless wonders like Joss, and the brilliant women in there see them off with ease.
I read a lot of the "Transwidows Escape Committee" as it went through one, two, three threads of 1000 posts! Lots of weeping, lots of horrible details of manipulation and the need for support to keep from going under. Raw emotion. I kept having to look up Mumsnet acronyms. Overall useful as Mumsnet HQ allowed me to write to my sister transwidows and a group of us put together stories to give as evidence to the 2018 WEC enquiry on reform of the GRA - the first enquiry.
the lovely Prior has described us as "barely sentient meatsacks". This is a bloke that has let his fetish get so out of control and take over his life to the point he is unemployable. I suggest in response he is a fully sentient wanksack.
