I honestly think these loons would kill Kellie Jay and JK Rowling if they got the chance. The only plus is that they've shown themselves for the violent, deranged misogynistic extremists that they are. They call no longer claim victimhood with any semblance of legitimacy. As always happens with narcisstic abusers, the mask has slipped.

Yes, the poor 'victims' who go around beating people up and intimidating peaceful women don't quite convince any longer.

Thank you! There is an attempt on Mumsnet to keep a record of the speeches "Down Under" and to discuss them, although the trolls have been out in force trying to put a stop to it. TRAs and "Socialist Feminists" making common cause against KJK again, with other women being collateral damage as usual.

I keep yapping about it, but I'm reading an entire book (2 volumes) about what billionaires are running our countries. It's a lot more than a handful, and they are truly evil. What a horror show in NZ but the positive that may come out of it, is that it seems to be rallying the troops, and it should, I hope, peak more people. Barry Wall’s video is brilliant as is the Spectator article. The likes of Billy Bragg and the politicians in Australia have a lot to answer for.

Bragg happily defames ordinary women as Nazis on Twitter. Will he now condemn actual fascistic behaviour? I doubt it.

These "leftists" were never left, they were just LARPing as leftists. They have no critical analysis, no vision for a better society, no genuine politics. And they are not only doing a service to the state by supporting this trans garbage, they are also helping out by people associating leftist politics with fascistic behavior and thoughts.

You’re right Tom. In Glasgow there were a satisfying number of men at her rally and it does make a difference. It also makes a difference when the police do a good job as they did on George Square, Glasgow. The NZ police were nowhere to be seen until the shot hit the fan.

I heard her talking about cancelling Wellington once they’d fought their way to the car. The security guard was saying they wouldn’t be able to manage it. And how can they if the police don’t get their arses into gear. They would probably need extra staff from neighbouring towns and the bulkiest set of men they could find. All their rugby players.

The spin in this New Zealand ‘news’ article is off the charts crazy-making. Spin. Gaslight. More dizzying spin — so bloody obvious for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. “Anti-trans activist” instead of women’s and children’s rights activist. “Escorted out” instead of forced out by a vicious mob of deranged people. “Pro-trans supporters” instead of anti-women and anti-children supporters. “An angry crowd” instead of a deranged mob. “Tension between the groups began to boil over” — here we have the inevitable false equivalence of “both sides”. ... “every side of the barricade had collapsed” — more false equivalence -- as if the violence stemmed from both LetWomenSpeak and the counter 'protest'. Also, note the passive voice of the barricades “had collapsed” instead of direct acknowledgement of mob violence against the safeguarding of a peaceful group. “The crowd slowly pressed forward” — sounds almost peaceful doesn’t it? Like a Victorian flower pressing hobbyist’s gentle activity. “Fights continued to break out in the crowd” — more false equivalence — fights and violence and hatred were on one side only. KJK almost lost her life, as did her some of her supporters, but you’d never know it from this article. Free speech was beaten down by ‘gender’ fascists but you’d never know it from this article. New Zealanders were awakened to the dangers of ‘gender’ ideological fascism — but you’d never know it from this article. Captured media around the world has fuelled the longevity of this mass psychosis that brings with it nothing but suffering — top to bottom psychic and physical suffering. But wait. Here’s something reassuring. This New Zealand publication reminds us that “Every day, 365-a-year, we deliver news like this, free from political influence, unchecked rumours and clickbait.” Pheww. Now we can all sleep at night.

Keep going, keep at it and thank you. That's the underlying added layer of combustible shit that's made these events explosive - it's being seen as a territorial and national pride thing to get her and 'outsiders' off 'our' turf. When the politicians have been doing their best to libel and lie, threatening KJK before she stepped foot there, this was ready to pop. It's shocked me to see Govt Ministers yelling and insulting in such a whipped up, nonsensical way. Then the very bizarre statements saying it's only love, acceptance and inclusion for the trans rights activists ('everyone') there. They looked like an insane, vicious, out of control mob to me. It's been hard to watch footage. In crowds like that it's how people are crushed to death. Then the online bunch are saying she 'deserved' it.

I can’t believe the press called her a nazi in all seriousness. I saw a clip on lotus eaters and it was obvious they had nothing on her. The claim she was making a nazi salute on one of her videos, but with her hand pixelated so you couldn’t see what she was doing was particularly surreal. I know everyone’s press are hiding truths right now, but that was a straightforward invention.

Expand full comment

Me neither. It's been relentless though, and I was shocked at the constant framing of her and this as 'anti-trans' rather than women's rights. It's simple and effective and we see through it. I'm taking all this in with half an eye and only dipping my toe in. Actual nazis, neo-nazis and fascists must be laughing their heads off (those that aren't closely related to all the police officers mysteriously failing to act). They walked right in after all and those in official uniform waved them through. We're heading for an international cooling of relations the way this keeps going - press and politicians are acting recklessly. It's bananas. Meanwhile...

Yes. I think the nazi theme is a red herring. I didn’t know Australians and kiwis had such a strong belief in them.

Sadly it's become a useful motif and shorthand. I think its entire resurgence as a term is due to its more recent online coinage/usage. Its popularity online now seems to have leaked into the small minds of politicians who are tubthumping. Those using these terms are clueless and happy in their stark ignorance. Some countries use it with much more and legally codified caution due to the utter devastation caused for their home populations. Not sure how many of those 'counter-' or 'counter-counter-protestors' fought in or experienced WW2. Bit like the UK with imagined pasts and attacking anyone for it.

I said I couldn't believe how we are being attacked and how back to front this all now is at one event and someone responded with her own family history. Those were the words of a woman whose family were killed in the Holocaust and they've stayed with me. These people doing this are not well. I wanted to weep at how mad it all is and we are lurching about unpicking lessons from history. Calling anyone jewish a nazi heralds a particular form of ignorance and cruelty.

I am sure as so many other people I was so angry watching Kellie Jay and the women in Auckland suffer humiliation and abuse in such a vile cowardly manner.

The mob, the captured were not just angry they were venomous at Kellie Jay but many more people remain free, not captured by this insane gender ideology and they, are even angrier and will no longer tolerate this outrage. They are angry at the injustice, angry, at the unfairness, angry at the politicians for allowing this to manifest. Politicians who allow big men to stop tiny women from speaking, who allow them to threaten women, to be violent towards women, to be intimidating, towards women, brave tiny women who are just standing up for the hard won rights of women. Politicians and the media who support this nasty pernicious ideology they must now be called out by their electorate and supporters, they must be faced with the reality that half their voting population or viewers, are women, adult human females and they need to acknowledge that simple and ancient biological fact. They need to start protecting their citizens from both physical, and psychological harm. I am sickened by those cowards and bullies of the mob, but they will never be capable of stopping those courageous women and supportive men from protecting and upholding women’s rights. However frightening and shocking it must have been for those who attended, , it was most definitely a success for it has opened up to the light a very ugly, malignant part of society that exists in New Zealand and other parts of the Western societies. And it’s exposure will, as the silent find their voices give rise to its withering away and then the healing can begin ❤️‍🩹

Melbourne was a "pleasant day out" compared with what happened in Auckland yesterday. It was a disgraceful display of violence that was not only condoned and sanctioned, but REQUESTED by NZ politicians including MPs and mayors. It's been obvious for a long time that NZ media is captured; there was not a single broadcaster who talked about KJK as anything other than "the anti-trans agitator". The general public would have no way of knowing that she is a women's rights advocate and pushes for child safeguarding. The older man interviewed on TV after she had left the venue offered up a "people should be able to live how they want to". Because there are no journalists in NZ anymore, he was not asked if this included child sterilisation and indoctrinating children through public schools. When sex ID becomes the law here later this year and shit starts happening, maybe then people will understand what women who are trying to speak were prevented from saying in Auckland and Wellington.
