My subscriptions graph shot up yesterday. Can't thank you all enough

Happy to subscribe. You have been working tirelessly for women’s rights, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Well, both myself AND Mrs Counter have a fully paid sub. And there are only two of us in this household.

So, unless I get a cat with its own bank account - I can't do much more! 😂 ❤️

that's plenty! if you're able to comment, this post certainly doesn't apply to you! :)

Expand full comment

Ha! I know! 😂 ❤️

Still, I will look into the cat idea...

Expand full comment

I think that’s good strategy. There actually are cats out there with bigger bank accounts than us. 🤣♥️

Expand full comment

Well, they certainly have bigger ones than I do at the moment! Maybe I could arrange a loan.

I don't blame you at all. I was talking you up on social media and I saw where an MRA acquaintance had posted a link to a post from here. They are farklempt too as the idiots have spent the last 15 yrs as if feminism was their worst enemy and I think a lot of men are waking up to the fact that we were the only thing standing between pedophiles and their kids

I have 2 cats but they are happy to just share my subscription - bloody parasites

Expand full comment

Typical.

I am afraid if I get one, I will have to teach it to read before it takes out a sub. Can you get them pre-trained in the arts of reading?

Expand full comment

They’re lazy arseholes - you have to read to them

Expand full comment

Just as I feared!

Expand full comment

I bet they expect u to read it to them… and then act like they don’t even care 🐈‍⬛

If I got a subscription for my cat he would just bat it around for a bit and then get bored...

Expand full comment

Well, you could try leaving it in his favourite cardboard box?

Just a thought...

"A tax on women"? I don't mind the money... I've donated in all sorts of directions. But I do horribly resent the time and effort that TRAs have stolen from feminism as a whole. We should have been turning to the third world, looking to help women who are sold and empoverished and mutilated. Instead we're stuck at home arguing that we're not an idea in a man's head. I could weep.

Expand full comment

yeah, it's a tax paid in many currencies. Time, money, effort. It's a disgrace that you're in this position

Expand full comment

And it's a disgrace that Graham Linehan, author of the funniest sitcom EVER (yes, The IT Crowd is very good too), has had to sacrifice so much because of malicious hate-filled TRA idiots.

Expand full comment

Indeed it is. And what is remarkable also is the utter lack of support he is receiving from his 'showbiz' friends and former associates. It has been left to us - good people like yourself and others on here and various social media platforms to offer moral support, and even financial support as best as we are able in these still somewhat difficult times.

It is an appalling disgrace quite frankly. And many should hang their heads in shame over this. And when they do so, I want to be there and watch them squirm in that shame.

Expand full comment

I don't know what it's like across the pond, but having once hung out with show-biz professionals, their friendship isn't even skin-deep, it's a costume they don when they think the occasion is appropriate. You all must know the joke about what the actor said: "That's enough about me. What do YOU think about me?"

Expand full comment

Well, that marries with what I have heard elsewhere - a very superficial level of 'friendship' . And as you imply, perhaps the least valuable kind.

Yes, your choice of the word 'costume' I feel is rather apt!

Expand full comment

Waddaya mean too?! Every time I watch IT Crowd (frequently) I learn something. What a brilliant writer he is.

Many of us do not hang around arguing. Get out there, financially support women and men who do speak. Never mind if you don't agree 100 %. Never mind if they vote differently from you. Write your representatives with examples of why we protest: examples from your area. They don't care about Timbuktu. Support them, radical feminists and allies. Share the names of writers and articles that educate.

Hey Glinner: It's August. Don't they do pranzo di Ferragosto there? Take a break boyo. We'll look after the shop.

I forgot substack already knew my bank details and got a little alarmed when I received a receipt without inputting details! Happy to support. As an Irishwoman I tended to assume that money was resting in your account.

I've upgraded from the £4.99 per month to annual £200. Hope that helps you. Aside from your amazing support for women, I spent many a student day/evening/night drinking too much whilst watching Father Ted. Now I spend many an evening watching you, Helen and Arty talking. It's possible that wine is involved.

Good for you!

I subscribe already but happy to contribute more so that others can still see posts for free. You’re worth every penny Graham. You and everyone who contributes are seriously maintaining my sanity in all this madness x

Mr G has a Buy Me A Coffee page I think - so perhaps that is another temporary option also? ❤️

Expand full comment

I was hoping there was an option to contribute more monthly?

Expand full comment

Ah, sorry - Like a 'Gold membership' style of thing? If I recall, Mr G wasn't keen on that. But times change I guess... And I'm not even sure you can do that on Substack actually.. Patreon yes, but here.. I don't know!

Hello! Long overdue subscription today from a gender-critical BBC employee. Glad to report that I am not entirely alone here in wanting the BBC us out of Stonewall's DC scheme. Long way to go though.
