Hmmm, might that have something to the friendly fire incident? I didn’t realise Morgan was the one running that group that Benji went to. A group that was supposed to be for dysphoric teens, but allowed a lot of forty something year old men in dresses, to come in and prey on the girls.
It sounds like it was a project designed to help men get what they want. What does exploring "the barriers queer trans women face with the broader queer women's communities" actually mean and what does that have to do with dysphoric teenagers? It seems be 'how can men who claim to identify as women get to have sex with same sex attracted women?' As for broader queer women's communities, that just means more groups of lesbian women.
What it isn't, is the inclusion of heterosexual men who want to dominate women who reject them as partners on the basis of their
sex. That can be allowed to stand! Who the fuck do these women think they are? Trying to create and maintain the own boundaries ffs.
If I was identifying as trans, I wouldn’t want creeps like this representing me. What makes me really angry is the people who allow them into positions of influence. Why did a family planning organisation allow Morgan’s How to Manipulate Lesbians workshop through? What’s wrong with the women at the Scottish rape crisis centre who allowed Mridul to work there? Mr Women Sometimes Have Orgasms While Being Raped. Why didn’t they keep him out?
No, I wouldn't either, I'd make as much of a distance between me, where I stood and what I believed as I could. Transgender people who do this are dismissed as bigots and/or told they're internalising their own transphobia.
I assume that the organisations you mention have cooperated because they fear the consequences of not doing so. And Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre has done it to the extent of making the worst decision possible by allowing a man who is a proven liar and clearly hates women to become the CEO of their organisation. They've done this in the knowledge that some women will not want to access a service that was set up for them.
Nearly 50 years ago mother's generation fought against men like him and what they represent, and now everything misogyny dreamed of is being exceeded.
The Pride group at work which absolutely inundated us with emails on trans awareness day, week, month, year of remembrance...seems to have totally missed that it is lesbian visibility week, can't think why.
