A 'Professor' at Berkeley.

I have nothing further to add.

Re. “Grace” Lavery. This theft of feminine names is the most powerful weapon of “trans” ideology, and our biggest problem. The appropriation enables instantaneous acquisition of trust and goodwill. A no-effort psyop if you will, easily done, but having tremendous consequence. There is magic in language and naming. I would just call him Mr. Lavery.

That's brilliantly put, Nancy.

"See you Jimmy" works weel in Scotland...🤣

It's a really good point. One I've been thinking about recently too. I refuse to use 'she'; refuse to use 'transwoman'. Using the name only seems more pandering.

Expand full comment

And that point about 'magic' - s very true. I have noticed that since his more lurid recent utterances, people have started using India Willoughby's former name - Jonathan. Instantly the curtain is drawn back and the Emperor is naked (to mix metaphors)

Expand full comment

No-one wants to see Mr Willoughby naked!

Expand full comment

I can't even stand looking at him fully dressed

He did offer to show us his " cervix " on TV , didn't he?.Obviously he doesn't know what or where it is 🙄🤪🙈

Expand full comment

Indiana Willoughby in Raiders of the Lost Cervix.

🤣

Expand full comment

Oh aye ...😹

Expand full comment

Maybe he has had it tattooed somewhere!

Expand full comment

Let him show it to David Lammy to prove you can indeed “grow a cervix” from hormones.

Expand full comment

Maybe we could refer to him as 'disgrace' Lavery

Expand full comment

On Spinster they called him Gross Lavatory, seems fitting.

Expand full comment

Oh yes, even better

Expand full comment

I totally agree, I think I'd just use their second names

Expand full comment

Good idea. Most of us now refer to them as " men posing as women " instead of tws or tims ,and use he/ him to describe them( accurately )so let's NOT refer to them by their chosen female names. Taking back the language !!

I often refer to them as Pod People, a la "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". What with their objective of replicate-and-replace. Though that's really a blanket term for all "genderspeshuls": the specific bodies that they seek to snatch vary.

Straight autogynephiliac men want to bodysnatch women, especially lesbians; gay men with ladyfeelz want to bodysnatch straight women; straight people of both sexes who style themselves as (puke) "queer" want to bodysnatch gay men and lesbians alike; straight autoandrophiliac women want to bodysnatch gay men.

What seems to be happening is... they're succeeding; the imposters are increasingly viewed as the genuine article. "Woman" equals "man who identifies as a woman", whereas the rest of us-- who are women regardless of how we do or don't "identify"-- are now just... "cis women".

Which is particularly bizarre, since in Jack Finney's novel and all of its many screen adaptations, at least the Pod People actually LOOKED like whoever they'd bodysnatched! If Mr. Lavery's godawful attempt at replication were the standard, their invasion would've been over before it even began.

Yes, alien plants are better than men at 'passing' for something they're not

Expand full comment

I quite like "Trans-Identifying-Persons" or TiP for short.

Its incredibly "gender neutral" as it doesn't refer to *any* "gender" or the terribly traumatising word "sex".

TIP is surprisingly accurate for many of them.

If pronouns are Rohypnol, female names are full on anesthesia.

Graceless lavatory

Expand full comment

I would prefer to call him out. Handbags at dawn and all that.

Expand full comment

Even calling him "Mr" is too much courtesy. Lavery does well enough for him.

Expand full comment

Yes but calling him Mr drives him nuts so it's worth it

Expand full comment

I do not think a female professor who openly advertised for sex, wrote this kind of utter drivel, and made their students study sissy hypno porn would enjoy much respect at Berkeley. Only men can do this stuff.

Expand full comment

I can't get my head around that. He is being paid by an educational establishment to make people stupid.

Expand full comment

This says everything about UCBerkeley and the quality of eddicashun there.

Thank you Rip for your bloody brilliant work.

Yuck!

Which women speak about being "tops" or "bottoms"? He was born male and remains male in his speaking and writing. Makeup, breast implants, artificial vaginas, high heels and a dress do not a woman make and he just proves it... If people would open their eyes and see. Then we can get back to ordinary.

A complete grifter, in other words. What a shallow life.

This. Have these people ever done a blooming day's work in their life? Manky.

He's ill. Please tell me he's ill. This can't be considered normal, even for California.

Expand full comment

He's vile. Why he's vile? Who really knows.

Expand full comment

Because he has an ego the size of Jupiter and is as full of gas.

Expand full comment

That was the message neoliberal capitalism took away from the hippy-dippy shit in the 1960s: Everything goes! Anything goes! California is the exemplar woke state, you know the one that encourages fracking and pouring the toxic water from fracking on organic farms while yapping nonsense about climate chaos.

Expand full comment

I won't give people like that the courtesy of assuming mental ill health. Its insulting to those who DO have mental ill health and do not go around imposing their behaviour on others.

No, this man and others like him are not "ill". They are narcissistic, self centred, selfish, individuals with a nasty streak of authoritarianism which is shown through their daily behaviour to impose their fantasies on everyone else through laws and social policy/punishment.

Expand full comment

While I agree with your description of Lavery's character traits, it's not accurate to say that nobody with MH problems goes round imposing their behaviour on others. I'm afraid some do. I've met some of them.

Bloody hell, I knew he was shit, but I am surprised at quite how shit he is.

Ugh, what a perv he is.

Thank you Rip Nutmeg . Just finished my dinner late and felt it coming back up at the Penny tweet to "Grace". 🤢 They are just spoiled, privileged poshos arent they? And creepy.

Not an attractive dude, is he? The good news is that someone pointed out to my husband that filling your pores with ink cannot be good for your health as your skin is your body's largest organ of elimination. And a friend pointed out to me that tattooing seems, in her estimation, to be an act of bodily disassociation, which I find very thought-provoking.

Expand full comment

I have tattoos which I've picked up at different points and in different cities throughout my life, if I gave myself a chance then i would probably regret them! I know a few tattoo artists who are covered and a couple have admitted to me that it's akin to self harm. Just look at the normalisation since the early 90s. I lived in Brighton for a couple of years and met beautiful, young people with full sleeves and chests done (always the most obvious of places). I asked one 17 year old girl if she might regret them in the future. She calmly replied that she would get them removed to make way for more! I see such a similarity in the teen gender craze. Physical modification worn as a visible badge of suffering, if only at the point of the surgery. I don't doubt that these kids are in pain but for adults to let them believe that modifying the body without strengthening the mind will help them connect and navigate the drastically changing world we are in, well, shame on them. Shame on this comfortable yet neurotic demographic. You are right, it IS disassociation with the belief that it's possible to buy even more disassociation down the road. Mirror Kissers.

I'm always surprised how unattractive he is. If he were a woman, this would attract lots of comments but he gets away with it because ... man.

Expand full comment

I had never really seen him until this post and I was surprised at how totally repulsive he is. I know a high percentage of trans, especially the dudes who don't begin to pass, are grotesque but I can't imagine sitting in a classroom having to look at him without getting paid big bucks to do so.

Reading this I knew what I thought but then you said it straight .He’s a massive troll.Albeit a professional one.You only have to read s few of his interactions on Twitter to see it,if nothing else.If it’s safe to do so,really the best thing would be to ignore him. Also,do men like him ever think about anything else but sex,or rather degrading and humiliating sex?

Thanks for this.

You missed the maximum cringe of the Penny-Slavery exchange though: Penny telling Joseph he shags “like a debate champion”.

Which is a bit like saying he bonks like a maths prodigy...
