Just had an argument with some woman claiming that women like us are in thrall to men and that Graham is AGPs best friend. I asked for proof but nothing. This is bloody annoying as people who should be on our side are behaving like our enemies. I know we can come across as a rag tag bunch but it's one thing not to be of one mind, and another finding people who have a common enemy with us are wasting words on in-fighting. Sorry to butt in like that, had to get it of my chest.
As mentioned before on Gettr (where I use and alias), I do like your posts. I do agree we do have to be pragmatic and agree to disagree here and there, otherwise we become as bad as those activists. I tried to stay on good terms with Karen but some of her friends were sending me some defamatory stuff about GL. When I asked for proof, one of them asked me not to harrass women, when she was the one who wrote to me in the first place. Ah, the old projection. I've blocked them but it's not a great start on Gettr.
Some people just aren’t able to separate people from opinions. Everything gets so polarised. Like with brexit where people were hating on each other for holding equally valid and reasonable, but opposing, views. Even within the female contingent in this war there are women who don’t like other women -Kellie-Jay Keen, for instance ( who I think is fab) is often criticised, so there will probably always be a target of one sort or another. I happen to like lots of people who have views I don’t agree with and it’s fine, we still have common ground. In this battle for our rights it feels counter-productive to have in-fights at this point when all that energy could be channelled outwards instead.
I agree with you, everyone should be able to say I don't like this person's views on that, but to go on at great lengths to demolish a person's name when this person is on the same side of the fence is dispiriting.
