Oh yes, that was ludicrous. The young woman didn't begin to look like a man and the young man looked gay beyond belief. So, a straight date where the Guy is a closeted gay man and the woman is... Does she think she's a gay man??

In the interest of trying to address this question, I highly recommend Andrew Doyle's appearance on the Modern Wisdom podcast. He's writing a book about the Salem Witch Trials and draws some fascinating conclusions as to what that might tell us about the current hysteria and why its tolerated by those we usually rely on to deal with insane, dangerous trends. He's not claiming to have the answer but he's hit on some very interesting observations.

Goodness, the levels of distress, 'staff were nearly in tears'? No, that's 'one member of staff'. One. These are tiny inconsequential things blown out of proportion to silence any dissent. We're all in the grip of this hysterical fashion. It takes one disgruntled oversensitive and not so bright, or malicious, person to create a quake and this grows and has a concrete effect to cancel someone else. Cancelling covering being sacked, ostracised, pilloried. Adult bullying. Being modelled to the school's students. Which is far more serious and undermines the whole way our society is structured. I'm only dimly aware of the reporting of that case but like others of this nature they're fairly hard/boring to read as I am amazed these things get blown up so easily and get this far. They really aren't satisfied until they have a heathen scalp.

The mere prospect of something, somewhere being thought and someone suggesting they don't agree with some opinion might now cause substantial possible extreme distress so must be avoided at all costs. And 'unprecedented vehemence'? Welcome to TRA genderology which for the uninitiated dresses itself up as the most marginalised civil and human rights movement of all time as a fig leaf over aggressive and violent silencing of anyone on the 'wrong side' which only it gets to determine.
LGB has been yoked to that T and no one even accepts what T is or means as it means anything anyone wants it to mean, so there. All this non-binary shite is like saying all humans are 'non-giraffe'. It adds nothing, it is unnecessary, it doesn't lead to any different treatment and it's purely a way to grab attention. Or maybe calling yourself 'non-human' as we share a teeny part of our genetic structure with bananas and the colonialist 'term' is restricting our inalienable rights.
