Just popped over to display the address of a woman they disagree with, who already receives death threats as a result of their inability to behave like adults. Please report the original tweet for displaying JKR's address.

Nice to spot the meaningless “trans rights are human rights” sign in the wild. Another response to an argument no-one is making, like yesterday’s “Trans people are welcome at the bar”. But surely stalking women is a crime, even in Scotland? So perhaps these presenters of Blue-Peter-In-Hell should be reported to Edinburgh police? At the very least, shouldn’t Twitter ban the account?

And can we pause here for a moment to remind ourselves that violence against women is so endemic that police don’t dare categorise it as a hate crime, no doubt because of the impossible levels of extra paperwork? So sex, a protected characteristic under the Equality Act, is not considered such for the basis of hate crime legislation. Do you know what is? You’ll never guess.

The Equality act does have ‘gender reassignment’ as a protected characteristic which very specifically protects transexuals and not attention-seeking drag queens.

Edinburgh police are —possibly unconsciously— collaborating in a worldwide conspiracy to remove JK Rowling’s freedom of speech and to make her feel unsafe for her views. Their adoption of the incoherent ‘transgender identity’, on official, online, public-facing documents is ideological and reflects a system of beliefs that is highly contested by the vast majority of people in this or any country.

By adopting this position, drilled into them by the disgraced Stonewall, Edinburgh police, in common with many other forces across the country, are essentially telling non-compliant women that their concerns and fears are irrelevant. To those women, like JK Rowling, who dare speak up against their continued erasure and harassment, the police are sending a clear message.

“To us, you have already ceased to exist.”
