In fairness to historical Jolyon Maugham, that genuinely was sex discrimination — men can be typists. To assume/require that a secretary must be a woman is very sexist.

Not impressed with his 65 wpm! I used to type 120 wpm and proofread the text at the same time. My mother typed over 100 wpm in the days before electric typewriters.
Now for seriousness: Did the firm have a hiring quota? And he bypassed it by pretending to be female? I can't believe that a firm is so backward in the U.K. that they wouldn't hire a male for a typing job. ?????
Agreed. At my private technical college in California circa 1988, the accounting students only needed to prove a minimum speed of 40WPM. Secretarial students were required to prove at 60WPM minimum, and were told that was an absolute minimum requirement, as most of their graduates were at 80WPM+. Students who typed 100+ were always referred to court reporting courses, as the compensation and career advancement potential was greater, for those who were interested. His speed wasn’t actually very fast, but barely met U.S. industry standard. I find it difficult to believe that the U.K.’s standard was lower!

Two white men going after Rowling and Chappelle for their lack of empathy with men's rights. Not a moments pause to consider the racism, sexism & violence they may have suffered that leads them to question how black lives and women's lives remain valued below men's lives.
They start with woke comedy at about 1h18m and it goes onto Rowling at 1h25m
Apparently Rowling said "go fuck yourself", deliberately antagonises the trans community, is comparable to Thanos as a character who is deluded about being good but actually being a villain and is mistaken in "thinking" she's a victim.
