Sinead Watson would make an excellent politician - once all those telling lies about who women are have been kicked out

Looking forward to this. Look at the considered outrage today about men who are victims of crime like rape being added to VAWG policy and services as some kind of ill-considered afterthought. Men need their own services and support. Men are not women, and women are not men. How much clearer is this? Men who think they are women, then are raped, need services built around that, not to be 'added on' or more likely taking over services dedicated to women. It is astonishingly coercive of the women in those services, as it would be to force a man to attend services dedicated and shaped around women.

I hope an upshot of this is that this makes it clearer that it is not appropriate for any man, however he identifies, to be in women's rape support services and shelters.

There have been many statements in the news today on how challenging it is for a man's masculinity to be raped or sexually assaulted. I wonder if they accord the same empathy to women and how it impacts on our sense of self, and our femininity when we are raped and sexually assaulted.

There's a man on twitter organising for other men & people to go to a meeting in Glasgow soon. He wants to "challenge" radical feminists at the meeting for VAWG. I am not happy about this. People have tried to flag it up to the Scottish police twitter account. 😠

Bastard. Like many of these women haven't already suffered at the hands of angry men.

And now 'Grace' on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour trying to get away with a point that the word woman or its definition is something patriarchal to oppress and marginalise women. Says a man. He is a man lecturing the world on the oppression of women by men?

And no mention of the fact he is in a hetero couple - a man and a woman - who both 'transitioned' so are now still a heterosexual couple. And working on his scholarly work. And his 'example' of his 'scholarly work'? He's not wearing make up. Make up? Make up? Make up? This is what he comes up with?

Just WTAF.

Expand full comment

OMG does he not realise the irony of what he spouts? He's just SO masculine, and SO patronising, and SO entitled - to not only hijack our sex but opine on it! He quite obviously loves being a man and relishes and exploits being a member of the patriarchy. Still, we know all this stuff is typical of the autogynephile.

Just listening now - Christ what a massive cock. On that subject, does he still have his? Ol' Gross Slavering?

Expand full comment

I have no idea. Although I rather suspect he does have it. I also suspect that that would be another example of, ya know, the patriarchy. It's his answer to anything and everything, and if you don't agree, that shows you can't think yourself outside of 'structures'. And guess who created those structures. Almost never heard such a circular argument with such a small radius before. Why air? Patriarchy. Why blue? Patriarchy. Why three? Patriarchy. Why music? On and on. It's some schtick.

??!

IKR? What a load of waffle. I thought he was supposed to be intelligent, does that mean he assumes everyone else is thick? His voice is - I find rather gratifyingly - very clearly obviously male. He doesn't even bother to raise the pitch like some of them do.

It's also particuarly jarring programming after the discussion from a clinician about her utterly awful experiences at the hands of maternity services in the NHS in Nottingham. It is across the UK and it is cultural and cultural indifference. That is such a huge issue that's been waiting years to be heard and properly investigated. It's hard not to see that as corruption. And we are pissing about with Grace manufacturing oppressions.

He does. You can read all his musings about it in his book. He upset a lot of people by comparing it to a miscarried foetus. Not even joking.

And I just put the bins out and was wearing no make up. And trousers. Maybe I can get a PhD then tenure out of that. Oooh and a book deal.

Oh my and now those who take the view that there are apparently naturally occurring organic types (as in women again) are also another example of 'the patriarchy'. My oh my oh my. And we're confused about what feminism is?

Apparently I can't think my way out of structures and that's also formed by...you guessed it PATRIARCHY. This man is real. This is really happening! And he portrays this as logic and reason.

Expand full comment

And when he got called out? 'Oh gosh my my no, you seem to think' he hit back with. We form opinions based on what he says and the knots he is knotting within the paper bag he's fighting the fight in then he denies he couldn't possibly mean that. This is fascinating.

You're right, men, regardless how they identify don't have a place in a rape support organisation or shelter. Those in need of protection and support need to organise themselves the way women have, and meet their own needs.

Pullman is very disappointing. From his writing, I had imagined that he was an intelligent man, and not one taken with cult thinking. The sneaky inclusion of transgenderism in bans on gay conversion therapy has lead to many children being refused therapy, and some therapists providing therapy in fear for their careers. Pullman is actively supporting harm to children with this nonsense. Here's what the "conversion ban" results in in America:

Yes, I agree, speaking as someone who loves his books. Strange he takes this view, as one of the themes of The Secret Commonwealth was academic philosophers spouting nonsense and denying reality. I think he should read some Kathleen Stock - she's very sensible.

*Sigh* I hope he finishes the third Book of Dust installment as I've been eagerly awaiting it for years, and I hope his view that my opinions are "cold-eyed evil" doesn't spoil my enjoyment of it.

Re Elon Musk, incase you didn't realise, he is a full blown narcissist. So messaging him about women's rights will go as far as it would if he was a TRA. Zero point.

Thank you, Riot Grrl. I don't understand people, especially women, thinking these horrible, uber-wealthy men are in any way decent. Do you think they piled up their billions being just and honorable men? This is a man who thinks the U.S. has every right to topple other countries' leaders and legislatures; he is SCUM. Though perhaps I'm speaking to the wrong crowd, it seems there are lots of people who think other countries' resources actually belong to western Europe. Good old colonial mentality, it never dies.

I've been watching him for a while, I read an article which interviewed his first wife. It was an in-depth one about everything - how they first met etc. Every step he made comes straight out of the manipulative narcissist hand book.

"Have we really spent almost six years - SIX YEARS - arguing about who can wee where?" Possibly. But it wasn't an argument started by those who were fine with things the way they were before men started demanding the "right" (read "privilege") to wee in women's toilets.

Oh were it just weeing too (which is still unacceptable - piss all over the seats and floor, and an even longer queue - behind some great brute in heels? No ta)! But it includes getting a semi applying lippy, wanking, filming, raiding bins (my days of menstruating are over - but I don't want some perv tucking even my old piss pad under his sweaty balls), setting cameras, leering under doors, actually assaulting - every single one of these is an affront to women's privacy, dignity and safety.

Exactly this! And because we can't tell by looking which ones do what while they are in the loos, we need single sex spaces.

If they had a shred of those lovely lauded female characteristics of kindness and compassion, historically always attributed to our sex, they would not wish to compromise any woman's privacy, dignity or safety. But they don't. Instead they have narcissism and compulsion. They are absolutely determined to get what they want at any price (and the price paid is by women and girls) and to hell with anyone getting in their way. Women and girls are collateral at best, prey at worst.

I went into a stall in the ladies a year or two ago and someone had sprayed the entire seat with urine. It was everywhere, even the back of the seat. There was no way a woman could have achieved this without serious acrobatic skills and climbing gear.

Or whether they have hidden spy cameras, unless you sweep first. Which I would recommend to anyone using Marks & Spencer changing rooms. You don't want you or your daughters appearing unkowingly in some pornos. Actually checking for spunk on the garments before you try them would be a good idea. Better idea, only buy from them online. Even better idea, don't buy from them at all. Funny thought - they'll have to increase the sizes of their women's wear, and shoes, if only TIM shop there. Plus the shop dummies! Lol great big masculine mannequin in frilly dress/lingerie. MOLEY!! Idea?

Expand full comment

I stopped using their changing rooms when they closed our store. So, pushed online, I stopped even looking at M&transvestiteS online site when all the lingerie reviews were either 'Love this, fits good, I like my wife in it' or those saying 'I feel great in this and it fits really well' then I looked and bingo, it's written by a man. Pages of them. So you get a woman in her twenties modelling it, a man his fifties reviewing it, and me not buying a thing. Great strategy. The dummies still need to be sylphlike or childlike wisps of women as that's how they 'identify' and 'see' themselves. Bugger reality.

It's like fake reviews in effect and impossible to 'identify' how any item of clothing would fit my form, being a woman with a different body shape to men. It made me incredibly angry that men just could not leave that space for women and clothing designed for our bodies, not theirs. And good ole M&S thought this was a good service.

I learned a lot from the talk by Genevieve Gluck. The man in Girl Guides with the fetish gear probably called himself Monica after the bloke who designed the Trans Flag. It is completely unbelievable and obscene that all these characters are able to infiltrate charities and work with young people. What is so terrifying is the fact that all these men with fetishes (at times very dangerous ones involving children) are at the top of every organisation - NHS, Police, Security Services, Government, Education, Charity Sector and other businesses.

Looking at "The School of Sexuality" the sponsors for their schools program are all suppliers of trendy period products and a few also supply sex toys and contraception, including emergency contraception.

That kinda suggests they will be continuing to enforce the mantra that sexual health and contraception are for the women/girls to deal with.

It reminds me of the old Ali G Show where he'd act like a half-wit and every single adult interviewee took him seriously. iirc Tony Benn was the only one who said "You're thick - you need to read some books," but everyone else was scared of looking out of touch "wid da voice of yoof."
