Mary Wakefield is spot on about the future of those restless and unhappy allies. Josie Long has substituted Twitter promotion of Mermaids with oversharing about her ADHD. What are the chances "I"ve got ADHD" is a precursor to "I wasn't a Mermaids shil, it was the ADHD. Anyone who disagrees is a disabled-phobic bigot!!!"?

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! The other day you said you'd tried everything and asked what else could you possibly do I replied with the bit about how the young women like Nehanda, Aja and the other brilliant young poet would be the ones to turn the tide after Kellie Jay's wonderful StandingForWomenXX day at Manchester. I was having a hellish despondent day too and nearly posted that old poem which sometimes keeps me going. There have been so many of these days - The flare being thrown at the Lesbians in France, the Spanish MP in Parliament with the F**K TERFS T-shirt, the 'Bodies with a Vagina' on the Front Page of the Lancet! the Netflix protests and others too many to mention.

“Don’t Quit”

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low but the debts are high,

And you want to smile but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many failures turn about

When we might have won had we stuck it out.

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –

You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out –

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

You can never tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far;

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –

It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Graham, You never did quit and I cannot thank you enough xxx

Happy birthday! That Bill Maher clip is a thing of beauty - he must be the first mainstream, LA-based Hollywood figure to locate his conscience on this issue. It's especially gratifying after the last blog entry pointing out the total lack of this very thing.

I have a vision of you in the not too distant future, Graham, dressed up in best bib and tucker at an opening of a show. Probably a show you wrote, and being lauded both for it and for having come through what you’ve done for women and kids a hero. Although, I expect that that last bit may be a silent acknowledgement, or just lightly touched on, for a wee while longer, maybe out of shame and embarrassment for how you’ve been treated. But it will be spoken of eventually. As it will for all the women (and other men) who have fought this at great personal cost, too.

Chase Strangio's tweet is priceless! So far through the looking glass they really cannot tell the difference between reality and ideology. Thank you Bill Maher.

Have a fab birthday Graham. Vindication at last!

It's almost as if exposure to the real world is kryptonite to this bullshit ideology.

Happy Birthday Graham. Thank you for all you do.

Honestly, you’ve been a beacon of bloody hope for me these last few years. I’m in a position where I can’t really do much at the moment other than chuck the occasional £5 into a crowdfunder. I can’t really get into details, but I’m hoping to be in a better position in the next few years and might actually be able to do something concrete to help people hurt by this ideology. That is my believe and that is what is driving me right now. That and keeping my daughter safe. Xx
