I thought I would have been welcoming care experienced youngsters into my home to celebrate our family Christmas with me this year but instead I spend time writing to MSPs, councillors and anyone else I can think of who I hope will care about what is happening to women and children in Scotland.

Thank you for that. I’m retired so there is not a lot anyone can take from me but I fully understand the pressures for young employed people. My daughter recently had an email from a friend of twenty years not only condemning her gender critical views but with a veiled threat about the effect on her job. Shocked is not strong enough to describe the level of betrayal she felt. So best wishes to you all. This will pass eventually but the effects on how we see the world and it’s people will be affected.

I have been GC before I even knew it was a thing. As a retired doctor and former powerlifter I have views both from the medical and sports side of the debate (I find it bizarre that there is a need for a debate). Today I have posted the GC logo on social media and await any response at all. Most of my friends won’t acknowledge it or dare to like it; I suspect none of them will say anything negative to me directly. Good luck everyone.

This day is "Gender Critical Coming Out Day", being the anniversary of this seminal tweet from JK Rowling.
I do not believe in gender theory, which is an ideology making extraordinary claims yet having no basis in reality. These ideas are being pushed into schools, institutions and statute books without proper scrutiny and consideration for their consequence. Yet examination or criticism of these ideas is regarded as heretical and persons doing so are denounced and publicly shamed as "Transphobic". This is a disingenuous conflation of ideas. Activists exploit the compassion we all feel for people with gender dysphoria, in order to smuggle a theory which, among other things, fundamentally changes what it is to be a woman. Gender theory is aggressively promoted by Trans Activists but it is not helpful for Trans people or for Gay people, particularly Lesbians. It is especially dangerous for impressionable children. It is important to take a stand on this issue and to support open discussion and debate. This is a free society. Let's talk about it.

I’ve tried speaking to people in real life, they all think I’m mental conspiracy theorist and become an overnight bigot. Pretty sure it’s already broken a few bonds. It’s all I can risk at the moment. Im sure in time it’ll click and they’ll realise what I was talking about. But god knows what the incident will be to break into average persons psyche if the news media have made it this far mainly pretending nothing is happening.
Anyway, more importantly, does anyone know if those two douchebags on Twitter worrying about their safety are ok on this day of literal violence?

The only thing I would take issue with is that I don't think it's enough to state that dysphoria is medicalised, because mental health treatments are medicalised more often than not. Dysphoria is physiologised (which probably isn't a word), since the dominant interventions concern physiological interventions such as surgery, rather than psychological exploration of the underlying issues. Anyway, that's just my tuppence worth!

Just commented to an article in the Daily Record ( a Scottish tabloid ) which reports that "Quiddich " ,the game invented by JK Rowling in the Harry Potter books ,is to have its name changed in order to " distance " it from its inventor ,due to her alleged " controversial " views !! Disgraceful virtue signalling by the cowards who run that sport ,and I said we much in my comments !! # I stand with jk rowling 👍👍👍👍👍👍💟💟💟💟

Very proud of all those daring to come out today. Predictably, the glance I had at Twitter earlier revealed that the hashtag has been hijacked by those who shout, abuse and/or are simply delusional. I imagine with the ways of Tw*tter their posts are probably 'promoted'. Plenty claiming that science and reality are on THEIR side (of course with a curious lack of supporting evidence). Not seen one GC poster shouting abuse, most are either sharing the hashtag or explaining why they are GC. Amusingly (if you can see it that way), lots of those hurling abuse are also bleating about being oppressed/literally murdered. Nothing that shifts my belief that trans ideology is a fundamentalist cult, because no other conclusion explains to me how otherwise intelligent and reasonable folk believe it so dogmatically. If I hadn't already peaked, today would have done it.
