Earlier today, the Surgeon General of Florida tweeted part of the testimony of @ChoooCole, a detransitioner. Her story clearly made a huge impact on him!
✅ here’s my email:
I support the amendment to Rule 59G-1.050, which would ban Medicaid reimbursement for puberty blockers, hormones, hormone antagonists, sex reassignment surgeries & other procedures that alter primary/secondary sex characteristics.
My 16 year-old daughter is convinced she is a gay man even though she never exhibited any gender dysphoria in her life. She is on a pathway to harming her health irreparably and permanently.
Almost all of her friends are trans identified, some of whom fare no better on wrong sex hormones. This amendment will save children from being medical patients for the rest of their lives. It will save them from probable complications due to so-called gender-affirmative care. It will save their mental health and possibly their lives.
Reddit/detrans now has over 35,000 members and grows daily. Without easy access to hormones, puberty blockers and surgeries there will be far fewer boys and girls who regret their transitions.
Let’s please be sane and slow down and stop experimenting on children.
Thank you for sharing! I am a Florida citizen, but we all get busy and local politics falls off our radar screens. If this hadn't popped in my Inbox today, I would have missed it. Thank you, Graham and Genspect!
