Eddie Izzard is one of the greatest comedians who ever lived and not a woman. He is an extremely talented speaker with a nimble imagination and not a woman. If he tries to go into the ladies’ while my daughter is in there, I will physically prevent him. No men in women’s spaces, which means no Eddie in women’s spaces.
I know a woman who met Eddie and he thought it would be a laugh to go into the women’s toilets with her. She was embarrassed and uncomfortable but felt she couldn’t say anything. This discomfort and embarrassment is now Eddie’s gift for every woman who has the bad luck to encounter him in the wild.
Of course, some women will be delighted to have a crossdressing celebrity in the ladies, but they too need to recognise that by normalising crossdressing men in women’s spaces, they make it even harder for women to defend their boundaries, and that is already difficult enough.
Eddie, how are women supposed to know the difference between men like you, and men like Mark Brown? How are they to know that Mark is not one of the ‘nice ones’ like you? .
The only way they can tell the difference is by being assaulted. That’s not acceptable. Women should be able to reject EVERY man from women’s spaces because of the Mark Browns of the world. Do you really not know this? Why do you think we’ve had sex segregation over the last hundred years? For a laugh?
It is the height of male privilege to intrude into women’s spaces and expect women to just love it. In fact, when a group of teenage girls DIDN’T love it, Eddie painted them as nasty bullies, instead of young women protecting their privacy and dignity.
So, Eddie, don’t be so fucking stupid. You’re not a woman, you’re just a man with oddly low levels of empathy for the sex you’re appropriating. You might be getting lovebombed on Twitter by people who don’t think things through, but anyone alert to the dangers of your position will never accept it.
Eddie, you’re a man who likes crossdressing. Stop gaslighting the world.
A complete chancer - he's been playing this farce for all it's worth for a few decades now. I remember Lynn Barber did one of her Sunday profiles on him in The Independent years ago and her saying that his transgenderism was more complicated than usual because his entailed him being a lesbian. Yeah right. In other words a hetero bulshitter milking the then notoriety which being 'trans' afforded him back then. It worked wonders for his career, at any rate. But he pulled in and out of his trans identity as it suited. I hate what guys like him are doing to us. And all the trilling women fawning and scraping at their feet should be ashamed of themselves.
Whatever else he is, he's also an over-entitled fuck, fully aware of harm he's causing women, who's just destroyed his own legacy.
