Reminds me of the time I had to email a customer, Heath, about an accounts ledger, I absent-mindedly greeted him “Dear Heath Ledger,” ... He was not best pleased. I don’t think he would have minded so much if Heath Ledger wasn’t so popular at the time, somehow that seemed to make it worse...
been looking for your name on here, did you ever listen to Babes in Toyland? I just found out last night that Kat Bjelland is in hospice with stage four liver failure, it totally wrecked me last night. I did not know she was in such bad health. I hear an interview with Lori that said she was 'not functional' anymore due to her addiction, and apparently she cannot have a transplant because she is not healthy enough (my baby cousin died last year of the same thing...her body wasn't really capable of withstanding the transplant either). The last news I could find was from March.
Aw I think I do recall hearing about this. Devastating news. I definitely did listen to Babes In Toyland, still do on occasion. Nothing like 'Sweet '69!' and that cow bell!! So so sad.
If Dave is on here, my condolences on the tragically early death of Rachel. The Fawcett Society won't answer him because there are no answers that make any sense. Apart from 'sorry, we got it wrong' but they aren't going to do that now, are they?
Excellent letter Dave Ward. Full of common sense. How can the Fawcett Society possibly call this bigoted? I agree with everthing he says. So, I am sure, would the majority of the population if we were not being silenced by.... YES... Bigots!
Bravo! Love that Dave uses "men who", "he", "male" and "men" throughout, rather than any *T*erminolgy that would class these crossdressing pervs as any kind of woman. Dare one hope that this might just be the beginning of the end? 👏💪🙏👊
go check out some of the videos on youtube about the American Humanist Assoc. taking back their 25 yr old award from Richard Dawkins. While it's sad that this generation of men can't think critically or independently it's clear when one of their leaders does, they fall in lockstep behind them. I was so spooked by one of the videos I saw on that I considered checking out of this altogether. Because it looks to me when the backlash on this one gets rolling, it might get ugly. That and the fact that two black trans id male sex workers were murdered in my podunk, one horse town this past month. To be clear on this I don't blame dissidents, I blame patriarchal masculinity and their habit of not being truthful about their sex at birth in the scenario in which they are most likely to be murdered for it.
Well, going by analysis of the Trans Murder Monitoring Project's own data - it's highly unlikely they were killed for having a "trans ID". One of the deaths cited on last year's TDORemembrance died of natural causes ffs! All the others were killed by their boyfriend, pimp, drug dealer, someone they owed money to, neighbourhood dispute, armed & shot by police when firing at them, etc. Were the two male prostitutes killed for being "black"? Homophobia? Or as you say, tricking straight men who killed them not for being *twanz* but for being men?
YES! All the issues succinctly and perfectly expressed. Do you think Dave Ward would mind if I plagiarise large chunks of it for the next time I write to yet another TRA-captured organisation/politician?
You might have got the name wrong Graham, oops, but thank you so much for all you are doing to get the "real" world right on this issue and giving Mr Ward's brilliant , and considered, -letter a platform for a hearing from which it will hopefully spread like - well you know - let's all get behind that......
The Fawcett Society are getting ratioed on the bird thing.
Best suggestion so far is that as they no longer represent the aims of their founder, they should rename themselves the Mrs Humphrey Ward society.
She was a very successful novelist who campaigned against women’s rights. She spent a fortune on getting her son into Parliament, which she believed she should not be represented in.
AGH! DAVE WARD NOT DAVE FAWCETT. CORRECTED!

Brilliant letter. Claps all round! Now if only one could be printed on a billboard and signed by everyone in society...

Her stuff with Katastrophy Wife is just as strong. I am so bummed out about this.
A perfect letter. Clear-thinking and respectful. I want the whole world to read it.

Wonderful letter Dave. Considered, polite and full of common sense. Why can't these captured organisations conduct themselves similarly...?

Great letter. Shameful that the world has come to this though.
the best "Bye Felicia" ever :)
HAHAHA love!
Bloody brilliant 👏
Dave, I hope you don't mind, I've posted your letter on the Fawcett Society Facebook page!

You folks in the U.K. have much to be proud of! You guys know how to stand proud. You inspire me to try to do the same here in the US.
