Thanks for all the kind words on the show, everyone. It's like the old days in here!

Ah rats, it's not available on Netflix Canada yet. I typed it in and it gave me The IT Crowd instead. (Now I'm watching the first episode of The IT Crowd, which I hadn't seen before. Ten minutes in and we've already got unisex toilet jokes and Harry Potter shout-outs. You're a time traveller,Glinner!)

Oh I hope you enjoy IT Crowd, we've watched it over and over in this house and it's just ssso funny. Every, single, episode

I've seen some episodes but not the whole series. The laughs per minute are insane. Watching it is like freebasing jokes.

We have 3 generations in my family who adore the IT Crowd. Me and my sister late 40’s, her kids (20’s) and my kids (teens)....we can all quote from it and it’s kind of shorthand for us now. Superbly funny, clever and surreal.

The IT crowd is wonderful. Enjoy. P.S. I have had some Rose wine(don't know how to do an acute accent) and just want to say that I love you Arty. In a platonic, middle-aged woman way

That's so sweet, thank you!

I left my job in education because I couldn't be complicit in what was going on with a young child, and very quickly saw how powerless I was in the face of ideological capture at every level: school; school counsellors; Local Education Authority. It was my 'shit or get off the pot' moment and it is lonely as hell at times because I cannot speak to many of my friends and I feel guilt that I didn't stay and fight, and quite a bit of anger. The shock that people are so weak and so thoughtless and so uncomprehending of child development - institutions and individuals I trusted are so craven - I think like Graham communicates on The Mess We're in, that's hard to get over. I do all I can in terms of communicating anonymously BTL, and writing to people, and contributing to petitions and crowdfunds, and I have a very supportive husband; but it's shaken me. Anyway, watching you and Graham and the funny sweary Helen is a tonic in our week and I thank you all. Your comments in particular often have me nodding my head. And you are doing what you do in public too, which is brave.

Anyway, THAT got all sloppy - after-effects of Rose wine

Alas, this isn't available in the US....please let us know if it becomes available! I know many fans of The IT Crowd who would be happy to give it a whirl.

apparently there's a button on Netflix where you can request it!

I will, then. Thank you!

I live in US and just requested it! I loved all the other shows... it feels so good to laugh.

We loved Arthur on TV! Will be happy to watch again....loved all the crazy characters and the story as it developed with the cafe, and all the performances were great. Thanks for the reminder - I didn’t know it was on Netflix.

Loved it on Radio!

The radio fans hated it. It’s very different!

A voice of reason responds - (I mean, I do speak reasonably on rare occasions...)

After a friend's recommendation, I was very late to the radio show, and I loved it - all seven series. I have them all on CD plus all of his live stage shows, and even the two books! - which can be brilliantly absurd and infectiously funny.

I thought the first TV series was just 'ok'. But because it was so different to the radio show, I found it hard to adjust, if you like, plus I had only just finished all the radio shows in a short period... The radio show is VERY Arthur concentrated (sometimes overly saturated with his speech mannerisms I have to say, later on) - it is his vehicle after all - but I soon realised that in my view, the TV series could never be like that - it was not created for TV where there is, by necessity, much more going on in the background and also with other characters, for example. And of course we can now SEE Arthur, and this is a treat - as anyone who has seem his live shows and DVD recordings of live shows will testify.

Anyway, I decided to buy the following two series - and we have just completed them both. And I now have a very different view.

As said, I think the TV show is different by necessity, and I have now come to love it just as much but in a different way. All of Arthur's odd linguistic mannerisms and verbal tics are there, as are the malapropisms... (I blame all of this globular warming you know...) The same absurdist lines and thoughts, they are simply spread out slightly over a very well-judged 30 minute tempo. There is also some added emotion and the relationships are nicely observed too. Kinnear is brilliant, I have to say. Some of the episodes are so well constructed too - note the Flying Lesson episode. Superb!

So after a 'luke warm' start for me personally, I now love it and am already looking forward to watching all three series again - as this character is a rare one - he does very much require multiple viewings...

It's great!

aw I really appreciate that. thank you.

Kinnear is great! He's also, as the French say, "le stone-colde fox." If I meet Graham some day he better introduce me to all the sexy British men he made into stars.

Oh..I'm gonna love it so they can jog on..

I loved the radio show

Ooh is this the count Arthur Strong as on radio 4

It's not available on Netflix Aus yet, but will request it from them.

If you log in to your account (at least on the laptop) and go to the Help Centre on your account there's a "request TV shows or movies" button, if lots of us do that, it might help boost the ratings too.

ooh, ta! I might do that for Slings and Arrows!

Ooh, great suggestion.

we love Count Arthur here! Will deffo watch

So is this the beginning of your uncancelling, Graham? 👍 With more and more organisations coming to their senses, we can hope it's a sign of the return of moderate views and some semblance of sanity. 🍻

We loved Count Arthur. Will definitely watch it again!

Coincidentally, was just thinking about watching them again, as an outtake was on It'll Be Alright on the Night this evening - the car breaking down in the safari park 😊

was it? Probably the first time the show was repeated since it was first on!

I watched loads of them the other day (Amazon Prime?). Got my sister to watch the Flying Lesson and she nearly popped a rib laughing at the two of them walking to the planes.

Was almost weeping laughing at that scene - brilliant!

The Day the Clocks Went Back - just came to me!

why are they talking about you so much on twitter? I'm afraid something is up, all kinds of talk slipped onto my feed, are they trying to get you kicked off of substack. These fourteen year old cancel artists that are running the world now from social media platforms are terrifying.

How did I miss this? Just watched episode 1 on Netflix. Oh - it was like sitcoms used to be. Funny one liners, the brilliant physical comedy of Arthur Strong and just pure silliness. Love a bit of silly 🤣
